My HOA wrongfully called Burns Towing to have my van towed from my own neighborhood last week. I had temporarily parked near the playground, assuming there would at least be a warning or a heads-up beforehand. Instead, my vehicle was towed without notice. When I called Burns Towing, I was told it would cost over $800 to retrieve my van--even though they'd had it for only about three hours. While the staff member I spoke to was professional, the company's charges are outrageous. Because I didn't have the full amount that day, I was forced to wait until the next day to get my van, which meant additional fees of over $100 per day. By the time I got my vehicle back--just 30 hours after it was towed--the total cost was more than $940. To make matters worse, my van was blocked in on all sides in their lot, making it feel as if they didn't expect me to be able to retrieve it before the weekend (when they're closed). On top of that, the paperwork you have to sign waives any liability for damage or stolen items--which is frankly ridiculous. I'm grateful my family helped me cover the cost, but without them, my van would likely still be impounded. Between the predatory fees, the questionable policies, and the lack of reasonable notice, this was a terrible experience. To their credit, every employee I encountered was at least polite, but that doesn't change the fact that nearly $1,000 for less than 2 days of wrongful towing is shameful. Judging by the number of one-star reviews, I'm not alone. Burns Towing seriously needs to revisit their business practices--treating people this way is not sustainable. read more

Crashed my car back in November wasn't my fault the city sent it to Burns towing. Burns let the other persons insurance company impersonate as mine. And allow them to pick up the car when they were not authorized to do so. Only My personal insurance was authorized to do so. With burns allowing this. The other insurance company sent my car all the way to the other side of a country. New Jersey. Once on they had it on hand they would not tell me where the car was located for about a month in a half, I only got my car back due to a legal team contacting the other insurance company. I'm not saying burns towing is bad. But my personal experience was horrible. This slip through the crack is still causing me trouble 6 months later. read more

Another company that chooses to screw people instead of manage their business well. Watch out for added charges, magic fees, ridiculous flat rates, and a really creepy atmosphere. Your first clue that something is amiss.... they don't work with insurance at all. But somehow magically know which other tow drivers have insurance. 1500$ for a 4 mile tow and 13 days behind a fence is pretty excessive for a company that won't even call insurance for you. I would like to compliment the owner at Burn's Towing, as well as HER team. First and foremost I find it amazingly delightful to know that this company is owned by a woman!! Her team is like one big happy, productive family. Ian picked up my boyfriend's truck today, and handled every move with kid gloves. Kris the owner relayed all the information to her team member Garrett, who was detailed and thorough on his communication with myself and their driver Ian. When towing is evolved there usually is a negative situation that happened, and that's the nature of the business. The truck went in to a local automotive shop, and the outcome will probably be expensive. But, none of this would have been possible if the truck didn't get there safely. this is the second time my car has been towed by these people. The first time my car was stolen and the police didn't contact me until almost 3 days later so I automatically had to pay the tow fee plus all the storage fees even though my car wasn't drivable at the time. Now this time my car again was not drivable and they want to charge me almost $300 just for the tow to tow my car literally less than 3 miles after it broke down near the Tacoma dome. obviously if I had had the money to tow the car in the first place, I would've done that but since I didn't now that you're trying to charge me these ridiculous fees and if I wanted to just turn the title over to them, they would still be charging me about $300. The car is older and doesn't have coverage for towing it's not worth that much in the end, I just don't have the money they are asking, yet every day it adds up. why not just push my car the two feet further up the hill to get it out of the red zone? I looked up the definition of POS in the plural format and Burns towing came up. I now know why they are called Burns, because its the same feeling you get after a super large dry #2 that rips your hind quarters. Typically it's a client that comes in and is unruly and get the cops called on them this is the 1st I've seen where is the other way around I called the cops on these guys when the price was quoted and then switched it to "additional" fees. I asked how much more And the guy told me $40 I ask is that included tax he said no then I replied well then it's not $40 than is it it's $44 with tax next time say $44they couldn't answer a simple question About the law or their policy. I would not rate any star on customer service but in order to post this review it needs a "star" Garrett is the person I walked into the office and had, well, not really assisted but "had" to not help me. I don't know if that is his norm of his person but dude! you should be behind the scenes. I asked for help but he was SO busy reading the document behind the document I gave him permission to look at and he IGNORED ME when I asked for his attention to not look at other paper I haven't read any other comments regarding this company but they need classes for customer service. Zero stars. The arrogant and dismissive man I spoke with on the phone likes to take advantage of hard working people. Charging me $400+ for my car being mistakenly impounded for less than 4 hours. My car was stolen and abandoned and I spoke with the business it was left by that I had a tow scheduled and there was a miscommunication and my car was towed. My car was there less than 48 hours I'm the victim in this situation and they are charging me what some people make in a week to retrieve my car. The worker man I spoke with lacked empathy, compassion, soft skills, a sense of community, and was frankly arrogant and condescending. I would not recommend this business to any human and I don't respect any business that takes advantage of victims and charges inflated predatory prices. Spoke with state patrol's tow supervisor and he informed me they are charging me 135%(the legal maximum) above the set price. This is a business that sits in one of the least affluent neighborhoods of Tacoma charging the highest legal rate possible to offer remedial, egotistical, and snooty customer service. You should have to have a character and personality assessment to operates business that gives you control of citizen's personal assets. This tow company has the worst customer service and just plain out rude. I had to pickup my recovered stolen vehicle from them. They charged me over $200 for my vehicle to be towed a couple of miles. They sure know how to screw a person. When we first went into the office area my husband asked a question to a bald gentleman and with an attitude he rudely dismissed my husband and pointed to another guy and said he will help you. My husband tried to ask a question again and the same happened. The whole transaction was ridiculous. I went into the tow yard to check the vehicle out before I signed off on it and wanted to move it because it was wedged in between 2 vehicles. They were wonderful! I never had such a fantastic Tow Truck Company before not even AAA. I had an abandoned, broken van in my yard for 4 years from a previous relationship and was not in my name nor did I have the keys. I was fined as a public eye sore. I called them and explained my situation. They not only came out and towed it out of my back yard when other Tow Truck companies said they could not because it was too far back or because it was not my vehicle but they came out that same day and at the time that was agreed up. They also asked about if it was front or rear drive and what direction the van was parked. I never knew that it mattered because if not in the right direction it requires a tire lift. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I had my car tow to this shitty business and when I went to get my car releases there were damages on my car. When I went and got it release I noticed that my car was dirty and the guy told me that it was dirty because of the ashes fall from the fire from Oregon so I am like, okay, I'll go get a car wash and that's when I notice the scraps and scratches on the side of my car. I called them up to tell them what happen and the receptionist told me that I need to speak to the manager so I decided to drive to their shop and when I got there the manager gave me attitude and told me that I have to talk to the owner who at that time wasn't there. Next day, I called to speak to the owner and told her what happen to my car and she gave me a bitch ass attitude by saying "how do we know that the damage didn't exist before we went to tow your car?" I then told her that my car was in a perfect condition before it got tow and she told me that she will not be responsible for the damage so I told her that I am going to seek legal action which taking her to civil court. FYI: I will never do business with them ever again and no one should not do business with them. I wouldn't even give them one star if it wasn't required by Yelp to write this review. This place is a piece of shit and so is their manager/owner. I've never had a vehicle towed before now so I have no comparison, however, my car was stolen, the police found it, so they had it towed to Burns since I couldn't pick it up in time. from the road it looked like a little tiny thing, but they had a good sized lot. Anyways. mind you, it is almost midnight and I'm both hysterical and angry at the same time. the great worker (cant remember his name he grew up in eatonville though!) was able to calm me down and make me feel welcomed even though it was so late. While my car only sat on their lot maybe an hr total it was a bummer because it was still $100. thats some expensive babysitting. anyways. the experience was wonderful. my only Complaint is the price.. but for the quality of the worker, I can handle that read more

Had to use these guys recently and was quite pleased with everything. They were very cautious not to damage my car (it's lowered making it hard to get up onto the bed). They showed up at the exact time I had specified too! I would have given them 5 stars but the next day (today) when they came to pick it up again to take it to the dealer (they were closed last night so it was a 2 day adventure) they showed up without a flatbed so they had to send someone else making my wait a little longer but overall a really good experience. read more
