This shop is located on Noble Street and had a few cars parked out front on the morning we visited. Since it does not have a marquee, it was a little difficult to spot at first, but I eventually found it. While my family waited in the car, I headed inside by myself. The interior felt cozy with a small book nook on one side, a couple of display cases filled with food, and seating for around 10-20 people. For my coffee on this morning I went with a large hot brown sugar cinnamon latte while and I ordered my wife chose a medium iced mocha. While I was waiting, the lady working was very friendly and even confirmed that I was okay with the large having three shots of espresso. There was also some conversation going on between her, a friend, and another gentleman about the Port Authority busses. Even though I was not in a hurry, the service was definitely on the slower side. I would estimate it took around 15 minutes before I had both drinks and when I got back to the car, both of my twins immediately asked what had taken so long. Thankfully the coffee itself ended up being really good. My latte had a great cinnamon flavor along with a nice sweetness and it tasted like real cinnamon instead of just syrup flavoring. My wife also enjoyed her mocha. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. While I wish service had been a little faster, the woman working was extremely nice and both coffees tasted good.

She had an adequate alternative milk selection, and my wife enjoyed it with added cinnamon. As requested, I had a "double expresso with foam" which was expertly prepared. We sparred a bit over the name, it's a true Italian macchiato, whereas in the United States the "Starbucks Macchiato" has taken over (if the recipe is milk and coffee.. that's called a latte or cafe au lait in Europe, not a macchiato, which is two shots of espresso and a little foam). For whatever reason she had the sugar behind the counter, not up front. Anyway, it was open until 3pm so lucky us!

Central Coffee Shop is a cozy neighborhood cafe located in Elizabeth, specifically in the Swiss Alpine Village. The shopping complex is right off of Scenery Drive, and houses several different offices and small businesses. It is locally owned and operated. The business offers different coffees, teas, lemonades, pastries, and many locally made treats. Additionally, the interior houses a gift shop area called Central Gifts and Home Decor. There is a lot going on in this unsuspecting place, but in the best way. Parking here is always very easy. Since this is in a complex, there is a private parking lot and spaces right in front. There is no drive-thru, if you were looking for that. However, it is so quick to get in and out with the very optimal parking arrangement. The exterior of the shop is very clearly marked and identifiable. It is painted blue, while the surrounding storefronts are yellow. There is also an awning, along with signage and lighted signs. You will be able to locate this easily. The inside of the cafe is large. There is a lot of seating, including a bar area, tables of various sizes, and more cozy seats surrounding a fireplace. Also, there are a few outdoor tables to utilize in nicer weather. This would be an ideal coffee shop to come to with friends, for a meeting, or just to leisurely enjoy an afternoon with all of the seating options. Overall, I love the vibes here. It is comfy, cozy, and welcoming. They are always decorated for the season or the next holiday. They have real mugs, and lots of different gifts and trinkets to shop through. It really is a warm and welcoming place you want to hang out at. I arrived on this visit just before 8:00 AM, and it was not too busy. There were a few other customers there, but I was waited on rather quickly. It gave me a few minutes to look over the menu, including the seasonal feature drinks. I opted for one of the seasonal lattes. I chose a Large Iced Woodstock Woods, which was a mix of brown sugar, maple, and cinnamon. I enjoyed it greatly! It was a perfect taste of fall without diving completely into pumpkin just yet. The large size is a very nice portion, and allowed me to enjoy my drink all morning long. When I visit, I usually opt for one of the seasonal drinks. If not, I will get one of their several house-made or sugar free flavor options. I truly have never had a drink I did not like here, so I would recommend trying different things if you are open to it! I did not get one on this visit, but their Pup Cups here are top-notch. My dog absolutely loves them, as they come with whipped cream and a dog treat. I believe that the value is there for this shop. My latte was around $7, and this is on-par with other local spots. I will say that the size of their large is bigger than a lot of other places, which makes it all that better of a deal. Personally, I think everything here is both fairly price and comparable to other places around. Also, they offer a punch card program for the drinks. So, you can get a punch for each drink purchased to eventually earn one free. They are one of the few local coffee places I am aware of that offer this, which is a huge plus. The staff here is simply the best. Whether it's the owners or some of their student employees, everyone is always so nice. They make you want to keep coming back and supporting the business. This is one of the highlights of stopping here for me! I always love coming to Central Coffee Shoppe. Between the plethora of options, gift shop, welcoming atmosphere and wonderful staff, there is a lot going for this place. I do not live super close, but make it a point to stop any time I am over this way. I look forward to my next visit and getting to try whatever seasonal drink is on the menu.

I usually try to get their special drinks but today they didn't really have anything that caught my eye so I ordered a macchiato with oat milk and pumpkin pie syrup. I have to give them lots of bonus points for this syrup since most corporation chains like Dunkin and Starbucks do not have pumpkin until Aug/Sept. My drink isn't overly sweet and it's a good combo between the milk, coffee, syrup and ice ratio where other big chains never truly make the drink have a decent ratio. I had actually been checking their schedule online for a couple of weeks, and on this day our schedules finally aligned, allowing me to catch them at Brenckles. This coffee shop is mobile and reminds me of an ice cream truck because of its size. It was mostly white with red and blue accents that gave it a patriotic feel, and on this day there was a single lady working the window. After looking over the menu I decided to go with the Whiskey Rebellion while my wife chose the Teddy Roosevelt. The menu described mine as a bourbon caramel iced latte with apple cold foam, while my wife's was described as brown cinnamon sugar, shortbread, honey, whipped cream, and Teddy Grahams. I'm pretty sure I heard the grinder running while I was waiting, but the service was still quick, and within just a few minutes we had our coffees and were on our way. My coffee here ended up being pretty good. The apple cold foam was flavorful and unmistakably tasted like apple, while the espresso remained noticeable throughout the drink and especially on the finish. I also picked up some sweetness, but I really didn't notice much of the bourbon caramel flavor. I know it wasn't meant to taste like actual bourbon, but I was hoping for some of those rich, oaky caramel notes that are often associated with bourbon-inspired syrups. My wife also enjoyed her coffee, especially the shortbread flavor. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. The coffee was good, the espresso held its own against the flavorings, and I especially enjoyed the apple cold foam. I just wish the bourbon caramel flavor had come through a bit more.
