Pour Johnny's is a locally-owned coffee shop that features coffee, different drinks, and some food items. For the drinks, the feature hot coffee, iced coffee, smoothies, quenchers, chillers, teas, matcha, and some prepackaged options. They do not have hot food items, but they feature baked goods from other local businesses, such as Brown Bear Bread, Jonesy Cakes, and more.
The business is located on Library Road, very close to the Bethel Park and Castle Shannon border. Specifically, it sits between the Library and Connor Road intersection, and the Library and Rockwood Avenue intersection. It is also very close to the St. Anne T Stop. Due to the location, there can be some traffic from time-to-time getting in and out of the complex, but that is just due to the natural traffic patterns in this part of town.
Pour Johnny's is in the Center 88 Strip Mall, being the right corner unit for the building on the left side. It occupies the space that was formerly South Hills Nutrition. There is adequate signage for the store both on the Center 88 road sign, as well as above the shop entrance. So, you should have no issue locating it!
Since this is located within a strip mall, there are a lot of parking spaces all around. There are also some on the right-side of the building, since it is a corner unit. We had no issues finding our parking spot right in front of the entrance when we visited.
My visit here was shortly after the business began operations. It was a Friday morning in October, right around 11:00 AM. My fiance and I were the only customers in the store at this time, so it was not at all busy. I imagine we came during the non-peak hours, since this is a coffee shop after all!
The ambiance of this place overall is just darling. It is a quaint shop, but full of life, fun colors, artwork, and lots of goodies to explore. There is minimal indoor seating, but there are also some tables on the covered patio outside to enjoy your drinks at during nicer weather. I really like all the color and personality they brought into this space.
One of the owners waited on us during this visit, and she was so kind! You can tell that she really loves what she does, and is the perfect person to be running a business like this. It was so nice to meet her, chat for a bit, and support her business.
There are a lot of different options for drinks here! There are different coffee options, several fruity drinks options, non-coffee options, and more. To add to those drinks, there are several flavoring and syrup options to choose from. They even have root beer on tap! We took a few minutes to look at the menu and go through everything they have available.
After placing our order, we only had to wait a few minutes for it to be ready. Considering they hand-make all of the drinks, it was prepared pretty quickly!
I ordered a 16 Oz Cold Brew with light cream, which I very much enjoyed! The coffee was good quality, and it was a nice size for a midday treat. My fiance ordered the Featured 16 Oz Italian Cream Soda. I thought this was a unique menu item, and he did enjoy giving it a try.
In terms of value, I believe Pour Johnny's is on-par with the other local coffee shops in this area. For our two drinks, we paid a little over $10 with tax. A 10 Oz Latte was $5, and most drinks had an option under that $5 price point. I think it is worth it to come here, when taking into account the product received along with the price.
This shop is a great addition to the South Hills! I enjoyed my drink, and it is cool to see the creative features and unique menu items they carry. I can see myself becoming a frequent flyer here, given how much I enjoyed my visit and the shop's proximity to my house. If you find yourself in Castle Shannon/the South Hills and want to support a local coffee shop, look no further than Pour Johnny's! I would highly recommend giving a it a try.
