Croissant cream cheese frosted cinnamon roll
    Emmie P.

I wanted to try some place new for baked breakfast goods. It was quiet, no line, clean and plenty of options for different sweet treats. I won't come back for the cinnamon roll croissant or small donuts (smaller than a regular sized donut) priced at $1.89. The layers didn't fully bake, possibly because the butter was absorbed by the cinnamon brown sugar filling? You can see from my photo that it was a bit dense/compacted in many areas. Not like a well baked croissant at all. Bought 4 items, 2 small donuts with springs, raspberry filled glazed croissant, and what I thought was a regular cream cheese frosted cinnamon roll. Total around $9.50 give or take.

We have never been to a restaurant that serves you your breakfast cafeteria style! I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing if a breakfast joint does it like that. Our first impression when walking into Cakes, Pastries, & More is that there is no character to the restaurant. It's just a spacious square. We both got breakfast plates. The eggs were their best item, but was still not very good. The hash brows had no flavor and were undercooked (if you can imagine that) and bacon tasted like it had been sitting out for a day. The "sweet" tea is not sweet. The restrooms are nasty, but the rest of the restaurant is clean. Why just the restrooms? Both the solid customer service and the cleanliness of the rest of the restaurant are about best things going for this joint.

Usually I get 3 creme, 3 chocolate, and then a variety with the other six. A dozen runs just about $17. Get them first thing in the morning when they are hot and fresh. It's located in a sketchy looking shopping center and you park and enter around the side, not the front. They have a secondary restaurant inside with a bunch of tables and a couple of restrooms. Sometimes the lines here can be super long, I recommend calling your order in ahead. This way you can skip the line and just pick up your order. They have a ton of different flavors, lemon, apple, strawberry, raspberry...all worth trying!! A dozen is good for 2 people ;-). They will keep a couple days if you don't eat them all the first day. My only complaint is that I wish they were open Sundays. Usually I pick them up when I'm passing through on a Friday or Saturday morning headed out of town. I'd love to be able to pickup a dozen on the way home too!

Well, I didn't have a great experience here yesterday, sadly, I had to drive over an hour for a DMV…read moreappointment, so I looked online and this place was highly rated. I had already chosen my "carved turkey Reuben sandwich", yum, when I first went at around 12:30-the line was out the door, so went to my appointment, hoping I could get back by the 230 close time. Returned at about 215 yay, and happily walked right up to the counter to order my lunch, when I was told they were out of carved turkey (the way the server explained it sounded like an ingredient in the Reuben was out, not the actual turkey. I asked if the "simple turkey sandwich" had carved turkey, and I was told no, it was deli meat-deli meat is so processed and unhealthy. I was super disappointed. So I opted for a Smashburger after asking how they liked it and she said it was "delicious". Well, it's not a Smashburger. It's a double burger on a nothing special bun. I was going to take the bun off and eat it with a knife and fork, and I was looking for those yummy crispy edges on a authentic Smashburger. They didn't exist. This was a double cheeseburger with very thick patties. I think they were grass fed so kudos to them for that,, but it was incredibly dry sadly, and when I saw that the bun had been toasted with butter, I put it back on and had a couple more bites, but was super disappointed-and trust me nobody loves a great cheeseburger more than I but now I love smash burgers as well!. I also ordered the Orzo cucumber and feta salad (as well as the french fries) on the side and while it was OK, it was nothing special. French fries were just meh. After all the stellar reviews I had I was very surprised that they would make a double cheeseburger and call it a Smash-burger-I wish these restaurants would stop doing that, it's misleading, other restaurants do this too. And for the money I spent, I should've just gone to Shake shack! I DO think it's worth a second chance, and I will say everybody there was very kind on the Service level and it's an adorable, really beautiful spot and vibe ! I strolled around and looked at the merchandise afterwards. So hopefully I'll be back but just super disappointed I didn't have a nice meal and left hungry.

Amazing donuts!…read more It's definitely a hotspot so get there early so they don't sell out. They also have hot breakfast sandwiches if that's something you're in the mood for this is my first time visiting, but I could tell that they had amazing donuts by the line and the group of people inside I felt that the prices were average, specially since their homemade. I got my favorite pastry- an apple fritter and some cake donuts. They did not disappoint. They were the perfect balance of soft and sweet without being too cakey or too sugary. They have a big assortment. It's not on my regular commute, but it would definitely be worth stopping by if I'm in the area.

This place went from one of my favorites to a one-star "I want to tell everyone how bad it was"…read morebecause of my experience today. I was in today, the owner had placed Hazelnut Coffee Mate into the carafe marked "Half and Half" and argued with me when I told them that there was Hazelnut Coffee Mate in the Half and Half carafe. I was shocked that the owner didn't think for a second that she made a mistake, but instead told me that she just poured it in their and it was absolutely half and half. I told her to taste it - she did not. I was so mad at her utter lack of curiosity and her apparent belief in her own infallibility that I poured another fresh cup of coffee, put the "Half and Half" in it, tasted Hazelnut coffee mate, and had to throw it away again. The owner didn't care to watch but the employees saw it. I am allergic to carageenan because I was bitten by a lone star tick and got Alpha Gal allergy. Over 500,000 Americans, most in the Southeast, have this allergy. Coffee Mate has carageenan. I would love to continue coming to Daily Donuts, but not if I am going to be gas lit by the owner.

The donuts looked great on display when you walk in, but unfortunately my experience with the service was disappointing. I ordered a crème brûlée donut and noticed one had a visible finger imprint, as though it had been picked up and put back. There were several other fresh donuts available, so I was surprised it wasn't replaced with a better looking donut. The display case was quite full despite it being later in the day, which made the situation even more frustrating. We ordered a glazed donut, crème brûlée donut, and a Dubai chocolate donut. Unfortunately, none of the donuts lived up to expectations. All three were served cold, the crème brûlée tasted less than fresh and the Dubai chocolate was noticeably dry. I also felt like the Dubai chocolate was overpriced at $7 given the quality. Overall I left disappointed. While the donuts look appealing, the service and quality didn't match the hype, and I don't see myself returning.
