He has now been my primary doctor for over six years and he is an outstanding, through, very caring physician. I have commented that the front desk needed more attention to handle patient call volume. He then had his front desk operator help me set up the Helo Patient software app on my iPhone. Once that was completed, his Office Manager met with me and took the time to teach me the patient basics to schedule my appointments, check on lab work results, and leave messages for Dr. Garg or the Office Manager. The program is wonderful and should be a favorable assistant to the Front Desk personnel, that the patients can control and utilize. The mantra "good help is hard to find" prevails in every business at the lower skill level. I am not willing to give up an outstanding physician when he has gone to great lengths to keep the staff employed for consistency and continues to find a way to strengthen and improve clerical deficiencies. This guy is a GREAT doctor, and worth the bother to get in to see him.

Many have changed to "concierge" doctors, and many do not accept Medicare! I wish I could find a good doctor like Dr. Garg, who really took an interest in the overall health of his patients. Yes, his staff at front desk is not welcoming or friendly, but once you overlook that, you will not be sorry to make Dr. Garg your doctor!

It is with a heavy heart that I have to change my review. While Dr. Woodbeck at Loma Internal…read moreMedicine and Pediatrics is still the best doctor around, IMO, It has become extremely difficult to see her, and the front office staff has started treating certain patients differently based, I suspect, on their insurance. Yesterday when I called because my toddler had a 103.8° fever 1.5 hours after having been given ibuprofen and Tylenol, I felt extremely blown off by whoever answered the phone - she asked me no questions and told me that since they had no appointments it was "my choice" whether to take him to urgent care or ER. My father was a pediatrician for 50 years in the Valley, and I never, ever heard his staff talk to a concerned parent that way. What I needed to know - which I stated - was what to look out for and when I should be worried. I was upset at being shrugged off so casually - high fevers in a toddler can be nothing or can be very serious - and would have appreciated at least being treated as though my concerns were genuine (I am not the kind of mom who calls every five minutes because my children sneezed. Every time I have had to take them in outside of checkups, something has been genuinely wrong). This is the second time in less than a year that I have been blown off when I called with a serious concern. Last time my other toddler was vomiting, feverish, and ended up having double ear infections. I understand that small offices cannot always fit even ill patients in. My main objection in both cases was the incredibly casual "don't care" attitude of the staff toward a sick kid. Dr. Woodbeck, Dr. Nichols, and Miranda have always taken me seriously. It's a shame that attitude hasn't translated to the front desk. I will be writing a letter to this effect to the practice, and, sadly, will look for a new pediatrician.

Today is 04/17/26, I was told that next Available Appt. is February 2027 - Almost an entire year away! Of course I absolutely do not believe this. So now I have an urgent medical issue and have to go to the Emergency Room because my crappy insurance In Network plan has crazy in network doctors that are not available. INSANE! Probably bit the bullet on this one, because any doctor that would advise her staff to treat New Patients like this is gotta be a horrible uncaring medical person.

I went in for one issue and she started to berate me about my hormones. I've seen my own hormone provider successfully for over 9 years and didn't come to this appointment for anything related to my hormones. I thought maybe she had a bad day, but my husband saw her on a different day and when he emerged from his appointment he said "I never want to see her again, that was horrible." Again, he went in for one issue and she decided to focus on his cholesterol at 161 which is not even high. But she began to scribble on her note pad to take fish oil, (he said, I took one this morning and her response was "you should have taken 2) flax seed and get a follow up appointment to have labs drawn again. My husband is 60 years old, 6'1, 195 pounds and 15% body fat, impeccable labs, great blood pressure and very low PSA lab because he takes HRT. I would caution anyone from choosing this provider if you don't like being talked down to, berated and intimidated. I have nothing positive to say except we will never be back in her office again.
