Pure incompetence, the more we called the worse the exchange became. This was a simple administrative request and it was bungled and stumbled over for months, not days.

I would give them no stars if possible. I went into Golden Apple to make an appointment for a…read morechemical peel. I had never been there before, and the consultant upsold me on a special package of 3 laser treatments for $750.00. She said the results would be quicker and more cost effective than chemical peels. I was required to pay up front for the $750.00, which I did on my Amex card. After the first treatment, I saw no improvement and very little peeling or indication that the laser had removed any layers. The only thing I experienced was a horrible break out of acne, which I guess is not uncommon. The assistant told me that Dr. Figuroa isn't aggressive with the first treatment until he sees how the skin responds. What a load of crap. I think that's just one more way to get you into the chair for more treatments than you probably need. Regardless, having already paid the money, I scheduled my second treatment 4 weeks out. Two days before my appointment Golden Apple called me to tell me the laser machine had broken down and they did not know when it would be repaired. They said they would call me to reschedule. One month went by, then two, then three and I never heard from them. I called them and asked if the machine had been fixed and they said no. So of course I told them how unprofessional it was to not have called me for 3 months, and I demanded a refund on my Amex card for the $500.00 worth of remaining treatments. They told me they could not issue a credit, that I would have to wait 8 weeks for a check from their billing dept! I think BS was my response, I'm not sure because I was SHOCKED that they would have the nerve to refuse to credit my Amex card. The girl said I could call their billing dept and complain, gave me the phone # and said the billing mgr. would be back on Monday. I called her on Monday, left a message and it was two weeks before she called back. I did not return her call because the minute I hung up with the woman at the office I called Amex and filed a complaint and requested a refund. Of course, they had to send info to Golden Apple to respond to, and that took about 4 weeks, but in the meantime they suspended all interest charges on that $500.00 and ultimately issued me a refund. I cannot imagine in this day and age with so much competition in the area of esthetics that these people have such horrible customer service. Shame on you, and word to the wise, seek out a more professional establishment. You get what you pay for.

I went in for one issue and she started to berate me about my hormones. I've seen my own hormone provider successfully for over 9 years and didn't come to this appointment for anything related to my hormones. I thought maybe she had a bad day, but my husband saw her on a different day and when he emerged from his appointment he said "I never want to see her again, that was horrible." Again, he went in for one issue and she decided to focus on his cholesterol at 161 which is not even high. But she began to scribble on her note pad to take fish oil, (he said, I took one this morning and her response was "you should have taken 2) flax seed and get a follow up appointment to have labs drawn again. My husband is 60 years old, 6'1, 195 pounds and 15% body fat, impeccable labs, great blood pressure and very low PSA lab because he takes HRT. I would caution anyone from choosing this provider if you don't like being talked down to, berated and intimidated. I have nothing positive to say except we will never be back in her office again.

When my husband was in the ER at West Valley Hospital some years ago, the ER doctor recommended Dr…read more Garg. He has now been my primary doctor for over six years and he is an outstanding, through, very caring physician. I have commented that the front desk needed more attention to handle patient call volume. He then had his front desk operator help me set up the Helo Patient software app on my iPhone. Once that was completed, his Office Manager met with me and took the time to teach me the patient basics to schedule my appointments, check on lab work results, and leave messages for Dr. Garg or the Office Manager. The program is wonderful and should be a favorable assistant to the Front Desk personnel, that the patients can control and utilize. The mantra "good help is hard to find" prevails in every business at the lower skill level. I am not willing to give up an outstanding physician when he has gone to great lengths to keep the staff employed for consistency and continues to find a way to strengthen and improve clerical deficiencies. This guy is a GREAT doctor, and worth the bother to get in to see him.

Many have changed to "concierge" doctors, and many do not accept Medicare! I wish I could find a good doctor like Dr. Garg, who really took an interest in the overall health of his patients.
