Golden Apple Medicine - Samuel T. Figueroa, MD

My father has been a patient for Dr Figueroa for years. We requested something simple as medical…read morerecords and not only were they late but they were sent to the wrong location twice. Pure incompetence, the more we called the worse the exchange became. This was a simple administrative request and it was bungled and stumbled over for months, not days.

I would give them no stars if possible. I went into Golden Apple to make an appointment for a…read morechemical peel. I had never been there before, and the consultant upsold me on a special package of 3 laser treatments for $750.00. She said the results would be quicker and more cost effective than chemical peels. I was required to pay up front for the $750.00, which I did on my Amex card. After the first treatment, I saw no improvement and very little peeling or indication that the laser had removed any layers. The only thing I experienced was a horrible break out of acne, which I guess is not uncommon. The assistant told me that Dr. Figuroa isn't aggressive with the first treatment until he sees how the skin responds. What a load of crap. I think that's just one more way to get you into the chair for more treatments than you probably need. Regardless, having already paid the money, I scheduled my second treatment 4 weeks out. Two days before my appointment Golden Apple called me to tell me the laser machine had broken down and they did not know when it would be repaired. They said they would call me to reschedule. One month went by, then two, then three and I never heard from them. I called them and asked if the machine had been fixed and they said no. So of course I told them how unprofessional it was to not have called me for 3 months, and I demanded a refund on my Amex card for the $500.00 worth of remaining treatments. They told me they could not issue a credit, that I would have to wait 8 weeks for a check from their billing dept! I think BS was my response, I'm not sure because I was SHOCKED that they would have the nerve to refuse to credit my Amex card. The girl said I could call their billing dept and complain, gave me the phone # and said the billing mgr. would be back on Monday. I called her on Monday, left a message and it was two weeks before she called back. I did not return her call because the minute I hung up with the woman at the office I called Amex and filed a complaint and requested a refund. Of course, they had to send info to Golden Apple to respond to, and that took about 4 weeks, but in the meantime they suspended all interest charges on that $500.00 and ultimately issued me a refund. I cannot imagine in this day and age with so much competition in the area of esthetics that these people have such horrible customer service. Shame on you, and word to the wise, seek out a more professional establishment. You get what you pay for.

Great Medical Facility…read more My nephew went in for a visit and I was beyond pleased with our experience at IMS. The entire staff at IMS Primary Care are professional, caring, and go beyond what was expected. My nephew was cared for prior, during, and after his procedure. The admin staff and nursing staff exceeds all standards. Thank you for everything.

Unfortunately, that's when my experience went downhill. They rarely answer the phone, and that same issue seems to carry over to the specialists they refer patients to. I was referred for a sleep study, but no one ever answered the phone to schedule it. I left multiple voicemails and never received a call back. Later, I noticed an insurance claim for a sleep study diagnostic that I never had. I called the sleep office with no answer, so I contacted my primary care office. They told me they would look into it and get back to me, but I never heard anything. My blood work also showed some abnormalities, so I was referred to an endocrinologist. I was told to wait for them to call me to schedule an appointment. Weeks went by with no call, so I followed up. I was told it was strange and that they would send the office a message and have someone contact me. It's now been over a month, and I still haven't heard from anyone. I'm done with this office. I made the decision to take my health more seriously, and instead of feeling supported, I felt ignored and dismissed. It shouldn't be this difficult to get the care you need.

Don't walk...RUN from this place (or move away at a fast pace if you're in a walker or wheelchair)!…read more This place is just bad. I have two autoimmune disorders, which comes with an assortment of conditions and issues. But what helps is if the doctor or nurse practitioner gets the original diagnosis RIGHT, and treats you according. For a year, I discovered that my NP had the wrong diagnosis listed on my conditions list. I discovered it, contacted them via email and advised them. My NP was on vacation at the time, so another NP emailed me back saying that the correction had been made and that my NP would be advised. Well, a year goes by. I switch insurance companies. And then the crap-storm begins. This office continues with the wrong diagnosis when updating my information, so my insurance won't cover certain products now. I find out from my insurance company about the conditions Village Medical sent over and it's the same from when I first started going there. On top of all that, my current NP treating me ignores me when I tell her some medications I take are precautionary only. Nope! She (Amie Horst) wanted for override the specialists and start saying it HAD to be for conditions I did not have. I was done. Please save yourself some heartache and go somewhere else... anywhere else!

So why am I sitting here with a bill for the visit coded for something you don't cover? Please explain. I've tried calling the office, nobody calls back. I've gone into the office, they tell me that I need to contact billing. Billing says they go off the dr notes. Just an overall terrible experience with village medical.
