House of Fashion now sells their merchandise from a home basement rather than a store (yes they have a home sales license ~ I asked) so they are now more convenient to get to for people who live in Staten Island than those of us who live in Brooklyn (but it was actually kind of fun to take the Staten Island Ferry and then the S44 bus there). IMPORTANT ~ be sure to call them at (718) 434-3515 and make an appointment before you go to be sure they are home when you arrive!

They have dresses for an older clientele, revealing options, classy options. The owner is an absolute gem. I drove in from Bay Ridge and I was apprehensive about looking too flashy or spending too much, and tried on some lower priced dresses I liked, but didn't love. She was so supportive and uplifting about my body and when I asked her what she would put me in, she chose something I wouldn't have thought to try. Her suggestion was absolutely gorgeous, and was a beaded gown. It was also more than I wanted to spend. She told me she would give me a deal, but I thought that was just sales speak. I left to think about it and searched for the dress online to see what it goes for. It was expensive. When I went back to buy it, she was being honest. I saved about $200 buying it with her. I am really happy with my purchase and would recommend her and her staff if you are looking for a dress.

I would highly recommend this business to anyone who is looking for the perfect dress/gown for your party and/or events. It was so quick and easy and I purchased the 2nd dress that I tried on, so the dress chose me. Without Giana's suggestion, I would have never found this beautiful gem of a gown. I am going to be returning to the shop to get the gown fitted by the seamstress, so I am very excited about that. I will absolutely be shopping at Le Chic Couture again.
