The store is kinda all over the place, the one I go to tends to just put stuff everywhere instead of sections. It's not bad and they have cheap things, but it also takes forever to get checked out. Also the clothes are a hit or miss. If you want cheaper stuff then go, but you might not have the best experience. read more

Not only were the fitting rooms closed, making it impossible to try on the clothes I wanted to buy, but there were only two checkout counters open, resulting in a ridiculously long wait time. Every single time I have been to this store they have 1-2 registers open with a line of at least 15-20 people. I have been standing in line for over 30 minutes & they actually sent one of the cashiers on break & had someone else take over so they still only have 2 registers open. You would think they would have the girl stay on a few minutes extra to help get the line down before sending her on break. I have watched multiple customers walk in, see the line & walk out as well as customers just ditch their items and leave the line/store. read more

I went there Friday Feb 9 2023 and found a coat I liked off the clearance rack. Got in line when I got to the register I was informed the price was wrong. I asked to see a manger she told she was. A couple of weeks ago my husband and I went to Burlington Coat factory. We purchased over $200 dollars of misc items. We went back yesterday to check out Suit Jacket sales. We will never go back. My husband was followed down isles by 2 men. I was not aware this was going on as I was in the Women's area. I finally head toward my husband in the men's shoe aisle and I said " Hey Babe! Did u find anything?" He turned around with ( a Man very close to him in shoe aisle took his jacket we bought at the same location ( a couple weeks ago ) he had on "off " ( we had paid for at that store a couple weeks ago )and "threw" it to the ground and Suit we was going to buy and say ( Infact We won't be buying anything from this store). I always forget about Burlington. In the past, it's messy set-up and boring merchandise is what made it so forgettable. But this store has cleaned itself up since my last visit. The accessories department was noticeably organized and made for easy browsing. Most of the costume jewelry is bulky, sparkly stuff that Fergie would wear, but I almost purchased a pair of GUESS? earring studs for $6. So, yes, the deals are aplenty here and I didn't see anything I'd call "overpriced." The selection of handbags is noticeably better too. It's a lot less XOXO and more Nine West, Steve Madden, and Betsey Johnson. Again, I almost made a purchase here: a bright yellow Nine West hobo bag for $25. But no, I do not need another handbag! My great finds were in the home decor and ladies clothing. I purchased a white, shabby chic collage frame for $13. The wall decor is amazingly inexpensive. A lot of the home decor shelves were bare, and there is now a small pet section where dishes and glassware used to be. The few Waterford crystal pieces really classed the place up a little. My second purchase was an ivory lace tunic for $17. It fits perfect, and doesn't feel cheap as if it'll tear the first time a hang nail or ring prong catches. I tried on some other tops, all between $15-25. The ladies clothing goes on forever, and I was shocked to see such nice cocktail dresses for only $25. There are a lot of juniors and plus size clothing as well. Oh, and the fitting rooms are clean! Free of hangers, tags, and discarded clothing, and the fixtures themselves are clean and modern. Coats? Oh yeah, they have a lot of those. You would think that a namesake item would be at the front of the store. Nope. Keep going back, you'll find them. The coats and shoes are still messy areas of the store, but there's a variety to choose from. I saw wool coats from Bebe and Jessica Simpson, so the styles are up to date and in season. Now I will just wait until someone asks me where I got that shirt or picture frame. Because then I'll remember Burlington and it won't be so forgettable! read more

I'm currently on the hunt for a new winter coat. Burlington Coat Factory has been around forever and I don't recall ever purchasing a coat from this place myself, but I'm sure I have had coats purchased for me in the past when I was younger. I live between this location and Villa Park so I decided to head to this one first in my hunt for this new coat. Unfortunately, my first attempt failed... I will explain why. Well, I didn't want to just settle. Yes, I was really digging the $100 Michael Kors down coat, but it was on the thin side, and wasn't 100% sold on it helping in my daily train commute all winter. I also found a nice Calvin Klein coat, but... again, I didn't want to buy something I was uncertain of. Getting to these two "maybes" was quite a hunt. For starters, shopping on a weekday night - these coats are not even close to being in order by size, nor style... leather, ski, all weather, etc. It literally drove me crazy to sort through these. That is a reason I tend to stay away from these discount stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls, I don't have the patience to really look, I'd rather go straight to the area of what I'm looking for. In addition to my failed attempt to walk out with a new coat, I checked out the accessories - that's where the third star came from on my review. You can get name brand accessories from names like Betsey Johnson, Kenneth Cole, Guess, and more at a reasonable price...they had a lot of nice purses! I probably would have walked out with a purse, but that isn't what I was shopping for. I'd probably come back here, but seriously...the coat area (their specialty) drove me crazy! read more

I just found out last week that they have a man big and tall area. I buy all my clothes from Rochester Big and Tall and I have my dress shirts made. But I thought I would give this place a look around. The following is what I encountered. First the place is an absolute mess. There are clothes all over the place and 1/2 of them are in the wrong size sections. Second, I have to believe that most of these clothes are at Burlington because they have serious manufacturing defects. I found several shirts/polos in my size and they were a good price but not one fit properly. These were shirts that were actually labeled the size I wear but were ridiculously small. Or they were sewed in a way that did not allow them to fit properly. Thirdly in my size at least, all they has was Ecko or some other so called designer. Bottom line it all looked Hip Hop. Fourth, I noticed some Ralph Lauren men's coats but they did not have any in my size but that is not why I am mentioning it. The reason I bring this up because the coats had a Ralph Lauren tag pinned on to the lapel but there was no actual Ralph Lauren label seen into the coat. Which seemed very odd to me. There were other things about this store that bothered me so I do believe this visit was my last visit. read more

It's actually Burling on Coat Factory (as my bf pointed out, the "t" in Burlington was burned out on the sign). We walk in, and there's an Ultra Diamonds kiosk next to the door (ok, seriously? I can just see it... "Will you marry me? I got your ring at Burlington Coat Factory, baby!") and a lot of clothes... where are the coats? Nowhere to be seen. So I ask the girl at the diamond kiosk if she knows where the coats are, and she says straight back. We head straight back towards the middle of the store, and finally see a wall on the side of a dressing room with maybe 3 or 4 styles of coats (that's it?!) next to t-shirts. Keep wandering, turning corners, (careful! don't trip on the ripping carpet!), navigating through aisles, and found a large sea of coats towards the far back of the store. There's no way we would've found it without wandering. Now... to find a coat I like? in my size? Hahahaha! That would require some sort of organization on the part of the store. There were size S coats on hangers that said L. There were XXL coats on hangers that said S. And they were allll mixed together. Found a Kenneth Cole that I liked, but needed 2 sizes smaller, found it maybe 4 aisles over, and by that time I was so tired and frustrated that I said forget it. Tried to look at jeans on our way out, but again, the styles, sizes and colors were all mixed in together, and I didn't have all night. They keep the one star for the low-ish prices. p.s. I came into the store today at about 1 in the afternoon and saw there were no shopping carts to grab, so I asked a girl at the register that if they had anymore carts left and some other lady hispanic with dark blonde hair told me to go get my car outside the store!!! instead of theyr employees going to collect the cars outside the store she sent me to go get it, in a very cold afternoon. I decided not to get it because that was not my job or doing! as I was shopping around I saw lots of people carrying theyr clothes in theyr hands because like I did, they didn't see any carts! read more

This place is so annoying. I only enjoy going to the Oswego location. This place has the most clueless staff especially when it comes to layaways! They don't even know their own policies. And why does it take like four people to handle one layaway?! One person is behind the register, one person is retrieving it, one person is asking thousands of questions trying to understand what is happening, and another is trying to help the person behind the register. Used to love shopping at Burlington but tonight we went to naperville location and it was horrible. Dirty rundown hardly any coats to choose from. The carpet is falling apart be careful walking on it. Then to top it off the one coat my daughter wanted had a tag that states "prop 65 warning : this product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm". I totally have a love/ hate relationship with Burlington coat factory. I hate this particular location, but the chance of finding something cool always draws me in. I'm finding that weekdays are a great time to come in. Weekends the place gets completely trashed. I mean annihilated. Clothing and coats everywhere. Seriously like Call of Duty war zone like!! Nothing is on the correct hangers or in the correct sections which makes trying to find a coat obnoxious. They also seem to have sizing issues. I am a 2x shirt, but I've tried on some of their shirts that had 4x on the label and they were too tight. I'm not that damn big!! #OhNoSheBettaDont Shoppers can be such pigs I tell you! But, maybe Burlington needs a few more people reorganizing the aisles. Once in a great while I'll find something nice I can wear as far as shirts go if I'm willing to invest time into looking! Burlington does carry a lot of nasty ghetto fabulous fashions that I can't deal with. Rocawear, South Pole etc. yuck. Burlington is the place to go for dress socks, gloves, scarves, gym shoes( yes! We were able to find some mens dress shoes and some new kitchen glasses under 15 dollars. They were Libby, not the best, but still decent quality. I recently applied for a position over a week ago that I found on Indeed website. I received an interview invitation and quickly responded w/a date and time to meet. Unfortunately, it didn't include the location of the position but luckily I contacted a store of where the position was likely located. I called the store and asked to speak w/HR. The employee that answered found a store manager I could speak with. I told him I applied for a position and was scheduled for an interview this wk but not sure which store posted the vacancy. He told me it was their location but the way the information was conveyed over the phone was very short, unfriendly, and lacked professionalism. It was in such disarray - coats throw over the racks - not even on hangers, shoes thrown all over what they call the show department and other stuff just thrown on the floors.... I was in the area visiting my grandmother and other immediate family for the 4th of July week and weekend . My husband likes shopping here but me not so much . As I was looking for directions to the nearest location and found this one I did read the reviews someone else posted about her husband being followed because he was black so I was somewhat aware of the foolishness before I arrived. It was me , my husband , my mother and my two brothers ( we are all black ) and I let them Know what I read as well . When we arrived to the store we all split , me and my mom went to the women's side and my brothers and husband went to the men's side . Shortly after shopping I noticed a man who appeared to be waiting for someone in the fitting room standing there watching mainly my mother because as I mentioned before I don't care for Burlington so I skimmed through a few things then just followed my mom as she picked out things . So once I realized he was watching her I watched him back , once he noticed he tried to walk to where the shoes were but to the end of that isle where he could still keep and eye on her. I followed him and he pretended to be looking at the women's shoes , when we locked eyes I rolled my eyes at him and he kinda backed off . Another lady started following us after that but she just made it look like she was putting items back . I was annoyed and ready to go . When we went to check out my husband told me they were followed on their side to . Me being fed up I asked the guy checking us out " do you always only follow the black people in the store " , his response was idk anything about that but if there's a problem you can let the manager know . He called her over and I explained how our shopping trip wasn't pleasant and we were followed and her response was " well he didn't say anything to me " . I said OF COURSE HE DIDN'T ! WE DIDN'T TAKE ANYTHING!!! ( mind you my husband works for the federal government and served in the military and my mother is a school professor with her doctorate degree) We have money , no need to steal anything . If you are black DO NOT SPEND ANOTHER DIME AT THIS LOCATION! You will be followed and watched the whole time ... After we left this store we went to the target up the street which is where I wanted to go grab a few things for myself and we were treated pleasantly by the store associates until we left the store . Mind you target has much better things than Burlington, I'm convinced it's not the area it's just that store or its owner who tells them to follow us . read more

I was here and the customer service was terrible. My son was walking around and one worker went over to him and yelled at him for another customer who hit him with the cart. She then proceeded to follow us around and and give us a dirty look. She was talking with her co workers to keep an eye on us and we walked around very uncomfortable. The largest selection of coats you will find anywhere. I have purchased several coats and jackets here, all of high quality and at reasonable prices. I found some beautiful holiday dresses here for my girls. I see the same or similar dresses at department stores nearby, and the prices is much less here even after all the coupons and sales elsewhere. They have some nice Christmas gifts at the front of the store at Christmas time. I have bought some of the home items. I also like that they collect donated coats in the the wintertime for local people in need, and they will give you a coupon in exchange. I have bought dress pants and workout clothes too. Great place for bargin hunting, although sometimes you have to go through lots of racks, as they do have quite a selection. read more
