Nyack said that they had them in stock, so I was going to drive the 2 hours, after work, to get her the banana. Then the peach popped up as in stock at the Flushing location. Left work as soon as I got off, took the LIRR, and rushed to this location (cause you Mfers wouldn't answer the phone). Got there, and to my dismay, nothing in the shelves. Saw Jessica G. come from the back, and asked if they had them. She looked on her handheld, nothing came up, until she put the item number in. Decided to stop by and see what was good today. Glad I had taken a look because there were lots of great-valued goodies on sale by the clearance section. Additionally by the look of things, it seemed that they recently had a renovation of the inside of the store. The old Marshalls I had known years before no longer looked familiar to me but in a good and positive way. The skincare/makeup section is moved from the back to the side. So much easier to find products now in comparison to years ago where if you see it, you'll see it. And if you don't, well that's too bad and it's on you. More beauty brands from Sephora including K-Beauty are found in store like The Inkey List, Herbivore, Glow Recipe, Kiehl's, Summer Fridays, Laneige, Farmacy, Curlsmith, Clinique, Skinfix, Peter Thomas Roth, Glossier, First Aid Beauty, Drunk Elephant and etc. Glad to see that the Flushing location finally has a separate section just for K-Beauty alone. It's about time, Marshalls! Next, it is also more convenient to find yoga mats, yoga towels, and other sports/wellness related vitamin (gummies) in the Active section which is located right next to the beauty aisles. If you're looking for a sturdy but inexpensive yoga mat alternative, then Gaiam is the brand that got your back! Their yoga mats only retail for $15 and the yoga towels are $10 in total. The service from staff is helpful + patient + friendly + top notch. Love shopping at Marshalls from time to time. Things are pretty affordable + great value + very durable + highly recommended. Different stores have different sale items which constantly change. I usually don't find men's clothing here that I like, and today was no exception. But family members found a few things. Tip - Marshalls has a clearance sale 2x a year, and one is now. Always look for the red clearance stickers. For example, they found a set of 2 Brook Brothers hand towels, originally for $18, marked down to $6. Some Yelpers might appreciate the the snack section, some trail mixes, popcorn, chips, granola - some for $1 or less. And we're talking about the big packages. A yellow sticker is even better - that's the rock bottom price. Note that the checkout line was humongous. I think most of you know, if you want better quality, go to their sister store TJMaxx. But you can't beat the prices at Marshalls, especially if you spend the time and effort to search. 3 1/2 stars for Marshalls. Update: My brother just called and said he found at a Marshalls in New Jersey a Viking 2.5 quart stainless steel pot for $14. I urge you to Google the price of Viking pots of this size.

It's good for necessities (food), cheap furniture if you're just starting out (if you're an IKEA fan, Target is probably next on your list), and the nostalgia factor since it has a DVD and book section (good for us older folk who miss the good ol' days of pre-streaming video and bookstore browsing). Outside of that, I don't shop here. The clothes, handbags and sunglasses may look cute, but they're not made to last - fast fashion landfill-friendly crap. If you must have this crap, wait a few months until it ends up in Goodwill and you'll get it for a song. Since I care about the earth, I'd rather buy my clothes and bags from a high end consignment shop - that's where you get real quality for less. Bring your own bag as Target charges you five cents for its own branded gray Target bag if you forget. I take my own reusable bag everywhere and have never had to pay the five cent tax. Ever. Judging by the number of times I've seen people carrying the five cent, gray Target bag, however, I can tell how many people forget and carelessly throw away their hard earned money unnecessarily. Seeing that stupid Target bag everywhere also tells me that everybody seems to be struggling, as everyone and his mother seems to shop there. Shopping at Target can be depressing because there are few alternatives for those who yearn for something higher quality but can't afford Nordstrom's. Target is the cheapo version of what used to be the middle class department store, like Alexander's. It has a little bit of everything but nothing is high quality. She was obviously lying as she "forgot" the name of the manager who scolded her and the register did allow 4 gift cards to be purchased exactly as it did the day before. Long story short, I spoke to store manger and he confirmed what my experience should have been in just making a simple purchase without the extra ego tripping by Jasmine. And that detail, she claimed about the gift card display was clarified by the manager as being place outside of customers purview to reduce the cluttered look of the customer service area. The managers explanation makes more sense since it literally sat behind the counter previously, where customers can't mess with them anyway.
