The development is being constructed by the Cordish Companies and Caesars and it will be a premier destination for entertainment and dining, It will also be a residential hub with 4,000 residences. I have been eagerly following the development of The Pomp. I have visited the Top Golf and currently the only other business open is Harrah's Casino. Businesses slated to open include Costco, Sports & Social, and PBR Cowboy Bar. There will also be office space and luxury hotels. Pompano Beach has lacked a downtown and a centralized, mixed use centers like other towns have. The Pomp will create jobs and a place where people can come together for food, entertainment, work, and to live. So far it is off to a great start.

There's also a sign that says WE CHECK RECEIPTS. I go about my shopping and the stock is sparse to me, compared to other discount stores. The toy shelves are messy, as always. Not much in home goods. What they do have are annoying buzzing alarms going off at the front and the back of the store. I went to pay for my two items. The register is practically next to the other guy in a tactile vest, but he has to check my receipt. When I approached him, he spoke in I guess French because s'il vous plait is one of the few phrases I know in French and he ended with that. EIther they don't trust their employees or they don't trust their shoppers, but either way, not a pleasant experience or one I will repeat. Considering how many people come through, I'm impressed with how clean the store always is. But they are not perfect. They really need to send the workers through the store area and re-shelve the merchandise. Especially in the show section. I often find a pair I love in my section only to find it's the wrong size. Also, open more registers. They have about a dozen but half are always closed. The line is consistently all the way down the queue and often wraps around it but they still only have half of the registers open. Open them all.
