Just minutes off the highway, conveniently located. The Woods Lodge offers plenty of comfortable seating options to enjoy the deck, indoor dining area or outdoors. We had a beautiful catered grazing table that was not only impressive but delicious, cozy rustic bar and other amenities. A must see!

Elegant and Delicious!…read more Gather- The Woods new fresh al fresco venue is a delightful and unique offering for gourmet dinning in Central Vermont. Nestled in the grounds of the lovely retreat, Gather offers a small but well refined menu. Located outdoors, lawn-side candlelit tables ring 2 fire pits. These have comfy chairs for enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail. The atmosphere is classy and casual with friendly hosts and severs who take time to answer menu questions and be sure you have what you would like. With a full bar, vast wine and beer list featuring local selections, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverage options, there is something for everyone. Our meal began with a flavor packed broth soup, featuring lemon, parsley, chicken and rice. The hearty portion was perfect for 3 to share. Next came the salads: baby greens with pickled onions and homemade vinaigrette, and rubbed kale with cranberries and nuts. Delicious! The swordfish main is crafted with an amazing balance of sweet blueberry sauce and a touch of cayenne to make the flavors pop. The chicken dish featured a tasty glaze and features grilled lemon, a surprise twist. Both mains were served with a veggie side and atop smashed potatoes- creamy and flavorful, and with lots of texture. Dinner was capped by the featured dessert, blueberry lemon panna cotta. So smooth, creamy, and heavenly! Just the right amount of citrusy syrup to complement the richness. Gather features fresh and local ingredients. This family owned and run restaurant is one of many endeavors Lisa and Jonathan Burr have successfully fully created. You will not be disappointed with your Gather dining experience!

The Lodge On Echo Lake - Seating for parents & siblings of the groom. Pure laziness that the venue staff did not clear the ice.

I truly wish I had been able to see this venue in person before my son and future daughter-in-law…read moreput down a deposit for their February wedding. Unfortunately, I am not local, and by the time I visited, the decision had already been made. From start to finish, the experience fell far short of expectations. The venue itself is in need of updates and a thorough deep cleaning. The carpets were dingy, cobwebs were visible in corners, the windows were extremely drafty (guests seated near them were uncomfortable), and overall, the space felt outdated and in need of maintenance. One of the most concerning issues was the condition of the ceremony site. During our August visit to the site, we were assured by the wedding coordinator, that the outdoor area would be fully cleared of snow and ice. That did not happen. The exact spot where the ceremony took place and where guests were seated was still very icy (see photo), creating unsafe conditions. Watching my daughter-in-law carry my 14-month-old granddaughter across ice to reach her seat was stressful and completely avoidable. Clearing that area would not have required extensive effort. If a venue chooses to host outdoor winter weddings in Upstate New York, it should be fully prepared to maintain safe conditions and follow through on commitments. The placement of ceremony chairs under the deck was another issue. Guests had to endure people walking above them and ice falling intermittently. The chairs were not supposed to be under the deck but failure to remove the ice resulted in yet another commitment by the wedding coordinator that was not met. The rental properties affiliated with the venue were also disappointing -- dark, outdated, and priced significantly higher than comparable short-term rentals in the area. We ultimately rented a beautiful lakefront home through VRBO that comfortably accommodated 20 people and exceeded expectations. The rehearsal experience was equally frustrating. After standing around for over 20 minutes waiting to begin, I approached the coordinator to ask what we were waiting for, as everyone had arrived. I was told she was "lining people up," though no visible progress had been made. Ultimately, I felt compelled to step in to keep things moving. The wedding procession timing was also off, which added unnecessary stress to what should have been a joyful moment. This was the result of the chairs not being in the place they were supposed to be (due to the ice not being removed). Overall, the staff did not demonstrate the level of hospitality one expects for such an important life event, especially the wedding coordinator. The service felt disengaged rather than welcoming and attentive. Finally, the food was mediocre--overly salty, vegetables undercooked, and several appetizers tasted like they endured some freezer burn. The rehearsal dinner catering we got from Market 32 way surpassed the wedding food from the Lodge and was a very small fraction of the cost. A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime (very expensive) event, and expectations for safety, professionalism, cleanliness, and hospitality are not unreasonable. Unfortunately, this venue did not meet those standards.

It is a nice location on a lake, though in March with the steam coming up from the ground we couldn't see much. Once we got inside, we were allowed to pick our table (8-person round tables) and had the opportunity to order 2 or 3 pancake breakfasts for $10/$12. We were actually warned by our server not to pick the larger breakfast option because it would be too much. We listened to his advice and found ourselves minutes later with two large (and very thick) pancakes and two frozen sausage links. I really like thick, stodgy pancakes and these were like eating four thinner ones. Maple syrup, a highlight of the tour, was real but came in tiny containers (likely to prevent waste... can't blame them). Orange juice, coffee, and water were available to drink. The food was good but the location seemed out of the way (even for this area, where everything seems out of the way) and there was little ambiance to the place. Some variety for the breakfast (eggs, cocoa, bacon) would have been appreciated. However, while driving around it I was able to see their cabins and I bet they would be fun to relax in over a weekend with a good book. I must remember that for the future.

I found Katie and she was amazing. She was a God sent. She gave us options for everything and walked us through everything. The time difference was a struggle, but she was up late repling to all my messages. I'm the type of bride, where I just wanted to show up and everything was taken care of. Since we were planning from a distance, she made that happen. She went over and beyond with great ideas. On our way to the airport to NY, for our wedding, we found out my husband's suit never arrived in NY. Since we were about to get on a plane, I texted Katie our situation and when we arrived in NY, she had taken care of everything and his suit was being sent overnight. She is absolutely amazing with kids. My son and nephew got a bit wild and put their swords on top of the closet and they were told they would get it back once they were done getting ready and behaved. They called her "the boss" and kept telling my sister in law and I that "the boss" took it. We applauded her. My 2 year old grandson was extra crazy and wanted to run around as we were waiting to go into our reception. She scooped him and kept him in line till we were announced. She feels more like family and a friend. When you are planning the most important event in your life, make sure you have Katie on your team.

I live in MA, so I appreciated that she accepted PayPal as means of payment, and was accommodating to communication mostly via email and phone call. Quick anecdote: At the beginning of our reception, my husband and I realized that we forgot to bring snacks for our after party, Katie took the lead on ordering pizzas later in the evening and stayed later than she was scheduled to, to make sure everything turned out okay. We would book Katie again in a heartbeat. Thank you for your enthusiasm, professionalism, and attention to detail!
