First time staying in Lake George and we're so glad that our friend told us about Bayside! What a beautiful location right across from the lake, talk about a view! It is so peaceful and quiet. The room is immaculately clean, the bathroom was up to date and stocked. I can't express just how clean everything was. Ali was so professional and kind, also really easy to reach if she was away from the front desk. We checked out early and they make it really easy by having a key drop box. There's corn hole, two pickleball/tennis courts, playground, outdoor event area with a tent, campfire area. The grounds are just gorgeous! Loved it! Also you HAVE to check out Antonio's, the restaurant on site!! So good! Will definitely be visiting again soon! read more

Pros: -The rooms are nice and spacious (we stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin) - The private beach is very nice - friendly and accommodating staff - tons of activities in the property for adults or children (fire pits, bocce ball, corn hole, shuffle board, pickle ball, playground, hiking trail) -family friendly environment Cons - no 24 hour maid service so if you miss the am clean call you have to call for clean towels - the restaurant could be better (I didn't have an issue with my food personally and thought it was very good, however someone with us got a burger that was severely under cooked (rare) and when mentioned they brought another one out just as rare. Bayside Resort was perfect for our family. The cabins are (mostly) updated with just enough rustic charm. The amenities are great: shuffle board, bocce, and pickle ball! The days were cooler so the kids enjoyed being in the indoor pool (I like the flora too). The beach across the way was private, comfortable, not loud and well maintained (raked every night???). The bay was cozy without feeling too far from the main lake. In fact, Bayside's location 10 minutes from the village offered enough relaxation away from Lake George tourism. We were happy to eat at Antonio's almost every night. A bit pricey, but the food was good and the restaurant was clean. It was an easy option instead of driving into the village. We had brunch the other day, It was fantastic. Great portions, more than enough for everyone. At $15 a person, It can't be beat. The French toast was amazing, the quiche was delicious, they had a risotto special that was also fabulous. The eggs were fluffy and done right. The bacon was perfectly crispy. Only tiny complaint was that there were scallions in almost everything, but I love scallions, but for someone who doesn't that could be a problem. read more

I was admonished multiple times, at check in, to keep my children quiet and ensure they didn't make a mess in the room. What? I'm still a bit offended as I know he did not say a word about children to the woman checking in ahead of me. He also made a point about "giving special approval" to allow my husband and 3 children to stay together in one room. We didn't even bother asking for a roll away... my teen just slept on the floor. The beds were firm and the carpet seemed new(ish.) I will say the 2 queen room was larger than average. The pool is decent. The hot tub holds 3 adults at a time. read more

My best friend got married at Dunham's Bay Resort this past summer. The wedding was absolutely GORGEOUS. It was the perfect location and vibe for my best friends wedding. The ceremony view was phenomenal as they got married overlooking the lake. The reception was in the back of the resort by where we were all staying in a beautifully decorated tent. It was a gorgeous wedding and night celebrating two of my favorite people. Dunham's Bay did an amazing job. I was apart of the wedding as a bridesmaid and have been a bridesmaid 10+ times. The wedding coordinator Lynn at this location is worth picking this destination. I have never been so in the know as a bridesmaid and well directed as we were with Lynn. She was amazing to worth with and deserves all the recognition Dunham's Bay receives for events. read more

We had the spare ribs that fell off the bone, Bruschetta that was delicious with fresh products, an Asian bowl that was to die for, and Boneless sliced chicken that was absolutely delightful! We stayed in one of the cabins during our stay. Unfortunately, it was less than we hoped for, especially for $250 a night. It appeared clean but is definitely outdated. We were only able to get 1 channel on the tv. The deadbolt was non functional on the door. The bathtub wouldn't drain so we were unable to shower in 1 of 2 bathrooms. Food was good in the restaurant and the wedding we attended there was gorgeous. The stay in the resort was just a let down and I'm disappointed for the amount of money we had to dish out per night. read more

A decent and calm place to stay if you are in the lake george area. We booked the two bedroom cabin which was spacious and full kitchen. The staff were friendly and the cleaning service was good. The only drawback is that they rent the outdoor area for parties and since the cabins are located nearby it can be pretty loud and noisy. read more

Many of the reviews here are very old and so here's a fresh perspective. Pros: 1. The 2-bed/2 bath cottages are spacious and come with a kitchen and living area and front porch 2. The brunch in the restaurant is decent and a good bargain for $13.95 3. There is a lot of open space including play areas and bonfire 4. The location is quiet, since it is about 5 miles away form the hustle bustle of Canada Street Cons: 1. Rooms and furniture are very old and have a musty smell 2. The lake and small beach are on the other side of a very busy road, which has no stop signs 3. The egg station at brunch has only liquid eggs and the selections in the buffet weren't extensive (we had bacon wrapped salmon ad french toast mainly) 4. Beautiful location, great family atmosphere, caring staff!! My family and I chose this weekend for a family reunion. The grounds are well maintained, so much to do, even if you don't want to leave the location, shuffleboard, horseshoes, tennis and basketball courts and the enclosed pool is key if the raindrops need to fall on your weekend getaway, all is not lost. The location can't be beat, the staff is always ready to help you out with whatever you may need, from directions to advice on activities. We stayed here for an anniversary get away. When we arrived we were greeted at the desk by a very pleasant woman who told us all about the resort, its amenities and asked if we wanted the fire pit set up that evening. Now we are from Vt so we know the area fairly well. We were also in the midst of a 100+ degree heat wave. When we got to our room the a/c was already going and our room was so cool, clean and comfortable. I travel a lot for work and often have difficulty falling asleep due to comfort and noise. These beds rivaled my memory foam I have at home and I slept like baby. I never heard any noise from outside and a wedding had been taking place. I want to say if your looking for a quiet place to enjoy NY state and the lake area stay here. I have nothing bad to say about this resort and as I said I stay in hotels for business. When I go away it's nice to have WiFi ( which was absolutely fine no issues) and a tv( which we never turned in) but the true test is am I able to relax and enjoy the time , the Dunham resort allowed me to do just that. As a wedding venue: outdoor and indoor options available. I would advise against getting married in the parking lot despite the beautiful view of Lake George. There were background sounds of motorcycles, cars and crying children. Their back patio area was pretty but on the smaller side. The one benefit is there are cabins surrounding the outdoor patio area so the party can continue into the night with all of the guests. As a restaurant: I had the salmon and I had never been so sick the day after. It tasted good at the time but I surely regretted the choice. read more

A group of us vacation together each year. This year we chose Dunhams' Bay Resort up at Lake George. From the friendly welcome from the front desk staff at check-in, to the hands on staff all day till check-out, we had a great time. Accommodations were all nice, clean and comfortable (some of the cabins were even cozy). Starting the morning off with a Continental Breakfast made for the beginning a 6 nice days. I recently stayed at Dunham's for 4th of July weekend. The rooms are by no means modern but they are surprisingly clean and I felt very comfortable in them. The air conditioning worked well and the TV is good quality. My only complaint about the room is that the bed wasn't very comfortable (it was tolerable). Outside of the rooms I enjoyed the backyard area with grills to cook on and a fire pit to make smores in at night, they sell very reasonably priced smores kits. There is an indoor pool, ping pong table, volleyball setup. It's a fantastic place for a family stay, and it breeds a feeling of friendliness with the other people staying there. The hotel is a 3 minutes walk away from a small beach that is reserved for their guests. The resort is not in the downtown area of Lake George so if you need to be in walking distance from attractions, restaurants, night life etc this isn't an ideal place, but it's a short 10 minutes drive on one tree lined road away from all of that. There's a restaurant in the hotel, I ate there the first night and I wasn't impressed but it's still a convenience if you don't feel like cooking or driving. I had very few staff interactions, possibly due to Covid-19 so I can't give a review on that aspect. In aggregate though I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it for families. read more

My good friend had his engagement party here. He paid for a party from 7-11pm which he was charged for the amount of time, the number of "plates" per guest for food and a limo to bring everyone home. Not only was the entire staff slow and rude the entire time (especially the manager Lynn who was also EXTREMELY RUDE to myself and many guest at a different friends wedding we attended there a couple of years ago) but they also served hardly any food, which we all basically had to fight over. The food didn't even come out until an hour into the party and then they took away all of the food around 9:30 and threw it out (food that had already been paid for). Then pushed us out of the party by 10:25 because they "wanted to get the dishes done and get out of there".On top of all of this, they did NOT provide the promised limo and everyone had to pay for and arrange their own rides. A celebration about happiness was turned sour by this awful place and I would never recommend anyone use this venue for anything. I am honestly shocked that this manager Lynn remains employed because I've been hearing people complain about her for years. SHAME on this place. read more

Attended a wedding Memorial Day weekend 2018 - the cabin was ant infested, out dated, and not the cleanest - over paid for what was delivered. The pool was broken, no cell service, the internet did not work well - if at all, the bocce court was not groomed and the grounds had not been landscaped prior the the wedding, the dead bolt on the door didn't work, and complimentary coffee is served at 8am (I would prefer 6am) - worse than anything they didn't fly the flag on Memorial Day weekend - the flag pole was bare. On a positive note the restaurant is updated and the food was great - Sunday brunch and Sunday dinner as well as the food at the wedding was amazing! read more

Our daughter, Lauren, had a beautiful wedding here on June 29, 2018. The Resort is lovely, on a secluded bay off Lake George, and the amenities are terrific. It is a kid-friendly place, with indoor heated pool, playground and outdoor games, and access to the beach across the street. We had an elderly guest, and the staff helped her around by conveying her via golf cart. The wedding was wonderful; the food is excellent, a lake view is available for an outdoor ceremony, and the reception tent is roomy with a solid floor (a real benefit over grass, as far as we are concerned.) The most impressive aspect of our whole experience was the wedding coordinator, Lynn. We were impressed with her from the very beginning, when she told us her goal was to have everyone, especially the bridal party and family, enjoy the event. She really delivered! She took care of everything, from the smallest details to guiding us all through the ceremony and making us feel at ease. If something was needed, all we had to do was ask, and she got it. She has a great, sunny personality, and can deal with all kinds of people in a positive way. We can't recommend her highly enough. Give Dunham's Bay serious consideration in planning your wedding. Well, lets see, where do i begin? When i booked this place, i specifically asked a few questions, that were important to us. One was, is there a tv in the bedroom. We are ones to fall asleep to the tv being on, so, this was something that was a must. I was told yes. I also asked, is there Wifi. Again, i was told yes. We arrived on Saturday and were taken to our one bedroom lake cabin. We walked in, and you immediately smelled a musty smell. We walked into the bedroom, and guess what? No TV. By this time, the guy who walked us to the cabin had left already. So, i went back to the office, and spoke to someone there and mentioned the TV issue. Within a few minutes, she said she could move us, but it would not be a lake front room (it really wasn't lake front anyway, so it wasn't a big dissapointment to go to another cabin). So, we did thank them for that. Now, when we planned the trip, we did have idea's of where we were going to go. But, not knowing what the weather would be like, we brought the laptop, hence my asking if there was Wifi. The girl said yes, there is Wifi. Really?? I think the girl meant to say "on occasion you'll get a signal, and when it rains, its even worse", because if i got online for 5 minutes total, that was alot. I was told there would be a signal either by the pool, or the office (there was supposed to be 5 area's where a signal could be had). I had zero signal in the cabin. I took the laptop TO the office, and still could not get a signal! So, when it started to rain the next two days, we had to just wing it and make decisions on what to do, because there was no way i was getting online to figure out what else to do. I also was supposed to be doing some work, and that never got done either. So, i lost money on top of all of this. I complained a little bit thru out the week about this, and they told me the signal was a problem when it rains. So, you go from 90% chance of not getting a signal, to NO chance of getting one! Sorry, i think that is bull! I went to breakfast one morning, and someone had a laptop with them, and he had no problem getting online. So, it was definitely that the owners of DBR (Dunham's Bay Resort) just not having a good hook up to get a good signal. When i checked out, the girl asked me how my stay was. I said i don't think you want me to answer that. I then said what i had to say, and she turned to someone and said something about having someone come and look at the signal again. Again?? Not even an apology. Now, they boast a beach. And the pictures on the website are very deceiving. They don't tell you there is a road you have to cross to get to the tiny beach. And they surely don't tell you that they do not own the beach! And that there are strict rules for using the beach (not unreasonable rules, just rules nonetheless). You can only go on the beach from 9am to 6pm. Now, on a nice night, if i wanted to bring out a chair and have a glass of wine overlooking the lake, i couldn't do that. There were other stupid things but honestly, i am just too tired to type anymore. I think everyone gets the gist of it. The two main questions- would i go back? NO!! Would i recommend this place to a friend or family member? NO!! If i do go back to Lake George, i'll book the Antigua or the Lake Motel. Both made our short list. Live and learn i guess. read more

My husband and I had our wedding at Dunham's Bay last Saturday...and we couldn't be happier with our choice! We wanted someplace lakeside, but every place in the village of Lake George is so expensive. At first, Dunham's Bay seems to be as expensive, but their price includes absolutely EVERYTHING (tax, gratuity, setup, cleanup, champagne toast/cocktail hour, etc)...so actually ends up being a lot cheaper if you figure in all that stuff at the other places. Lynn, the coordinator, was absolutely wonderful...she really goes above and beyond to work with the bride and groom and make your big day exactly how you envision it. They don't really have set "rules" and ways that you have to do things. She contacted all our vendors to coordinate everything and set everything up for us so we didn't have to worry about that, and it was absolutely beautiful and everything just ran so smoothly. We didn't have to do anything on our day but relax and enjoy ourselves. And the food was absolutely delicious! It's all-you-can-eat style, so guests don't have to choose just one entree, and they make everything fresh (rather than keeping it in warmers). Our guests raved about the food, and many said it was the best wedding they have been to. We didn't have a specific time we had to be out...the DJ actually ended up staying a little late and even the staff was dancing with us! Afterwards, they have a fire pit outside and they let you bring your own beer...We all stayed up late talking/laughing, and actually ended up ordering a pizza, but we never felt rushed...Lynn stayed until we all went to bed and cleaned up afterwards. We got a complimentary cabin, and I actually thought it was quite nice! She moved all our gifts/cards, flowers, everything to our cabin for us, and even boxed up some leftover food and put it in our fridge. I would definitely recommend Dunham's Bay to anyone getting married in the LG area! read more

So my girlfriend and I came to Dunham's Bay for a wedding and decided it'd be better for us to get a room for a nice weekend getaway. Upon learning it was roughly $200 for a room for the night (including the 10% discount for the wedding party), we were hesitant but decided to dive in anyway. We got a room with a king bed as our only other options were rooms with two beds or a cottage. Check-in was at 4pm, but the wedding was set to start at 3, so we called ahead and with some coaxing got them to have the room ready for us by 2 so we could get dressed in time. Upon checking in, we were shown to our room by the front desk worker, who brought out one of the most primitive keycard systems I've ever seen. It was a plastic card with a series of holes punched into it, that if you didn't slide in just right wouldn't unlock the door. He went to demonstrate for us so we understood, but our door was open already. Not just unlocked, mind you, but ajar. His demonstration of the lock function complete, we entered the room to find it was about 75% bed. There are more spacious rooms at most roadside motels at a fraction of the cost. There was a flat screen TV at least, with cable, but the remote control was absurdly slow acting and appeared to be made by a company that specializes in safety scissors. Small issue, at least. We weren't here to watch TV, we were here for our friends and for a weekend escape. It's a resort after all, right? We imagined we'd get our money's worth somewhere. That somewhere was not the toiletries. Specifically, the most important bathroom necessity aside from water and a hole in the floor for your waste to fall through: the toilet paper itself. Not only was there already a near-empty roll on the wall, but the one roll we were provided with in the room was barely useable. I've depleted many rolls of single ply in my lifetime, and this was not single ply. It was half ply at best. I didn't know it was possible, but I have seen it myself and it is a horrible creature. The room itself smelled kind of musty and was dim, even with the lights on and windows open. The WiFi sort of worked. The ceremony itself was nice, with an okay view of Lake George, and the food was great. Not sure if that was provided onsite or if an outside caterer came in. I believe it was onsite though. The bartenders were pleasant and patient, which are both important traits to have. However after the ceremony we all wanted to go swimming, but were prevented from doing so by the staff. It was disappointing, but somewhat reasonable as people had been drinking and I imagine they wanted to be safe about it. They did imply the pool would be open all night initially, causing a chorus of discouraged moans from the remaining crowd once we found that wasn't the case. Later on we went back to our room and tried to use the deadbolt on the door to find it not functioning. We didn't know what had caused the door to be ajar when we arrived, and we weren't pleased we couldn't take any preventative measures to ensure it wouldn't happen during our sleep. We had to wrestle with the power outlets to keep a phone charger in them. Our stay wasn't terrible, however I feel like for a price so steep we should have been afforded more comforts. This is hardly a resort, just a motel with a big backyard and pretty good food. I left out anything about the beach, as it seems to be a recurring theme in other reviews. We had dinner at the View Restaurant at Dunham's Bay Resort in Lake George NY. It was the best dinner we've had during our stay in Lake George. We were there in November, which is off season, not many places are open during the off season. The restaurant is large, very nice, has a fireplace, big windows, view of the lake, very nice. The dinner was delicious, Chef Brad Schmitt was excellent! I had the brick chicken with mashed potatoes, delicious. Nice wine selection. We enjoyed our meal very much. Highly recommended. read more

We had dinner at the beautiful restaurant looking over the lake. It is a spectacular spot. The food was delicious. The fried chicken sandwich was awesome well cooked with a kick of spice. We had our wedding here this weekend!!!!! Everything was absolutely perfect!!! Lynn our coordinator as well as the assistant coordinator Dyan were always sooooo helpful...From the very beginning until the day and couple days after! Email communications were always answered immediately. They made sure that everything went smooth, the set up the center pieces and the tables beautifully, before the ceremony they made sure the groomsmen were pinned properly, they even went as far as to assist me with my dress tightening throughout the night...everything was absolutely perfect! The food was amazing!!!!! 5 star for sure and my guests raved about the job that they did!!!! The only reason that this resort lost a star from us was the poor customer service from the "general manager" MATT! Not only was he rude to us on a couple occasions, he was rude to one of the head waitresses there who was also amazing and many of my guests complained of him as well... This place is a total dump!!!!!!!!!! The website is ridiculously deceiving! There is No BEACH affiliated with the hotel. You can use the "beach" across the street (tiny patch of dirt) if you get a wristband from the front desk and abide by strict rules. Only from 9-6 tho. yje cabins are really dumpy. the carpets are stained and ripped, the bedding is 40 years old, and the electricity is shoddy. There might as well not be a pool, it is indoors and you have to ask someone to take the cover off. They would get zero stars if it werent for the staff. They were friendly and tried to be as accomodating as possible. It was kinda hard though since the same person runs the front desk, is the bartender and is the shuttle driver!!! so if he takes guests into town........no bartender or front desk for at least 30 minutes at a time!!!! Certainly not a "resort" now if they had advertised themselves as a campground, this review might be a little more favorable. Not much though. Skip it! read more

Terrible experience. Rooms smelled terrible - I've never experienced such a smelly room - tried to switch but the other smelled just as bad. Smelled like the cleaners in old folks home. Almost unbearable. If your a person with allergies or sensitivity to smells this place is a nightmare. It's day later and my bags still have that rank smell. But trying to make the best of it we walked over to the "beach" where some grumpy old man yelled at us while taking photos- even tho we had the wristbands on. Just an awful experience. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else :( read more
