We booked 2 villas and got confirmation for Jul.01-04. The next day, they called us said there was a mistake. Some of us have to move on 3rd night, my husband said it would be very inconvenient for us as we have kid and elder with us. The manager was so rude, she said if you were not happy, you can cancel any times. I know everyone can make mistake but you should have deal with the situation better. We decided to go since it's our family trip. In general, the view was fantastic but the villa (villa No.5) that we stayed was out of dated and it was so dirty. There were spider webs everywhere and so dusty. They provided unsupervised kayak. When my husband tried to use one of their kayaks, he found out it had hole which leaded to an accident. He informed the resort right away as he's afraid it would be dangerous for anyone. Again, the manager didn't even call to check on him. Definitely, we won't go back there again.

Just checked in and would not recommend this place absolutely horrible they put my family above the maintenance garage. Beside myself to say the least there is no water view from this location only a view of the parking lot

Sun Castle Resort Townhouses, located at the Inn of Erlowest, right along the shores of Lake George, NY

My niece was married two weekends ago at the Inn at Erlowest on Lake George in upstate NY. On the grounds of the Inn are a series of lake-front split-level townhouses and smaller villas known as Sun Castle Resort, and that's where the wedding party and family members stayed. The resort is located about a mile north of Lake George Village, which makes it very close to the outlet malls, Six Flags Great Escape, and all of the wonderful hiking and boating options in the Adirondack Mountain region. You check in up the hill, right as you turn into the property off of Rte. 9, and then drive down, past the stone castle (Inn at Erlowest), and down a steep hill towards the lake. From there you have an assigned parking space, literally feet from the shores of the lake. My split-level townhome was spectacular with hardwood floors, granite countertops, two separate bedrooms with private bathrooms, a sleeper sofa in the living room, a fully-stocked kitchen, seating for six around a dining room table, washer & dryer, barbecue grill, and two balconies facing the lake. Some of the other townhomes had fireplaces and even more bedrooms for larger groups. Sun Castle also has private cottage-style villas which are a bit more rustic, but also have the same amazing views of Lake George. These are designed for couples or small families. On the property you'll find a heated outdoor pool, also overlooking the lake and the mountains. They have a kiddies playground, and free use of the resort's kayaks and rowboats. There are also private sandy beaches along the lakefront, as well as boat launches and dock space. My niece decided to hold the wedding on a point of land, right next to the lake, and adjacent to the townhomes, and so we were treated to these amazing views of the water and the mountains while enjoying her service. Fabulous place, and a great little "hidden gem" for those wanting to enjoy a romantic weekend in the Adirondacks.

Blair House - TV & Dresser in motel 1

    Blair House

    (11 reviews)

Visit Date: September 3, 2015 to September 7, 2015…read more Let me be clear from the start, this motel is really a 3 star motel but I am giving it 5 stars based on my experience. Hubby and I found this place on expedia for $70 a night and decided to try it. We were happy with our decision to stay here. The blair house is one of many mom and pop motels on the route 9 strip just outside of Lake George Village. Like many motels here your "room" might actually be a small cabin or a cottage. We opted for a king size bed so our room was actually joined with 3 other rooms (two on the bottom and two on the upper floor) in a combined cottage. Our room had a king size bed, a private bathroom, A/C, a television with a remote control, a mini fridge, a microwave and a keurig. I'm not a keurig fan but a keurig in your hotel room is actually pretty nice as most hotels with coffee pots do not provide keurigs. These extras in our room enabled us to visit the grocery store during our trip and stock it with some milk and extra drinks. We also bought our own k-cups and cereal so we could save on breakfast. During our stay the maintenance in our room was basic service. I think the family that lives in the office house and owns the hotel maintains the rooms so we were provide with fresh towels and extra toilet paper but our beds were not made. I am not complaining about this though as we don't make our bed at home so it didn't bother us. The keys are literally keys not cards that are now given as room keys in major hotels. The owners were very nice, we didn't have many questions for them but when we checked in they did tell us not to hesitate if we needed anything. I enjoyed the blair house and would come back again if we went back to lake george.

All of their cabins offer different sizes and amenities so based on what you or your family needs you will want to read the bookings and ensure you're getting what you need. Check in was smooth and painless and it's great you can check in until 9:00pm. Checking out was painless as well. They just ask you to keep it clean which isn't asking much. About a 15 minute walk into town but only a 1 minute drive. It is in a great location and suits all of your needs. Just beware if you are going with a large group - there is only one space per cottage for parking so make sure you follow this because parking is very slim. Definitely a place you should look into if you are visiting the area!

Between the…read morequiet, cozy nights, large 8 ft pool, charcoal grilling, and walking distance to downtown Lake George, we had a blast. The owners are very transparent with what their cottages are and explain which cottage would be most suitable. I originally found them through Airbnb, but I highly suggest you go through their website for less fees and better communication. The cottages remind me of camping, but they are renovated so more like glamorous camping or "glamping." We stayed in cottage #7 and the bathroom was beautiful, the minifridge has a freezer for ice, and the bedroom has a large queen sized bed. Temperature was not an issue as the cottage was cool and had lots of windows and a fan. The location is amazing. Just across the street from the lake and close to the ADK brewery and biking trails. You can bike to all of the hottest destinations in under 10 minutes from here. The owners are very friendly and provide dish soap, sponges, plates, silverware, cookware, bed linens, toilet paper, charcoal grills, and fire-pits. The only thing to beware about is the high population of moths surrounding the area because of the tall trees, but we found them throughout Lake George. If you are looking for a cheaper place to stay in Lake George, but are not the full on camping type, I suggest Pine Grove Cottages. We are already planning our next stay here and are excited to check out the other cabins.
