We have always had great service from Foothills Heating and Air Conditioning. They were first…read morerecommended by a friend at work when our system quit on us at our last house. Last weekend, our 28 year old system died on us at our current home. John from sales came out Monday and went over various options. He was able to help us pick the option that we could afford without any high pressure whatsoever. He was able to schedule the crew to come in early on Tuesday and they had our complete HVAC system humming by 1:15PM. Justin explained how the system works and encouraged me to call if we had any questions. One of the owners came first to supervise the beginning of the job but the entire crew was friendly, professional and working efficiently to get our AC blowing. The is the second system that we had bought from Foothills for two separate locations over about a fourteen year period of time and we have no complaints whatsoever.

Because we are new to Hickory, I always ask around for good people. Many people recommended Foothills. They were right! Foothills guys are very good people. They came right away, gave a fair estimate, stuck to it and started the job the next day. They fixed the ducts, the heat strip and really did a good job cleaning up afterwards. Thomas was patient explaining the process and what we needed. Austin patiently adjusted the vents so we had even heat. The men were respectful to me and to each other. They were a pleasure to have in my home. Thank you Thomas, Michael, Austin, Joe, Jordan & Doug. Our house is now cozy warm. Lynn S

If I could give zero stars I would. My parents who are on a fixed income called this man out last…read moreFriday. He come out claimed to clean her AC unit and add Freon and left. My parents house did not get any cooler. He charged him $430 for nothing. The guy my parents have out here right now has cleaned this air conditioner three times and is still getting dirt and gunk out of it. Bob didn't even go in and check the inside part of the unit to make sure that that was clean or working properly. Needless to say don't ever trust or use this company.

A couple days later he was back for same problem. He then installed another drain pan switch on the air handler secondary drain outlet dipped out a little water collected his payment. Problem now worse as drain pan leaking into ceiling. Second technician came to check unit after Bob had left and said not to use unit. My brother diagnosed a rusted out air handler drain pan. Parts are unavailable per Trane Company parts dept. Bob did not look at drain pan in unit either time he came. he just made up a problem himself. He works with American Home Shield and is not qualified to de service work. We are now using a lawyer from Charlotte to get our air conditioning system replaced by American Home Shield. We have been without air conditioning all summer. DONT CALL BOB

I really…read moredidn't expect them to come out on a Saturday and figured they would wait till Monday, but I got a call back quickly and he said he could be here shortly. The young fellow was named Adam and had been with the company for 9 years. To get to my attic access we had to walk around bins and big bags of decorations from Christmas. I apologized for the mess and said it just needed to go in the attic when I got help. He was so kind and gracious and offered to put all that stuff in the attic for me! And it was a lot! Then he gave me a few tips to make extra storage space with some of the plywood boards I had stacked up there. Adam was quite the professional during all this and I thanked him. What an asset he is to his company, and a blessing to me, to go above and beyond!

Their response, we don't buy from Amazon. I told them on the phone I could buy a thermostat and they told me they had one. I see why they wanted to use theirs now. Price gouging. They did absolutely nothing but tell me my 2 week old filter had a thin line of dust on it and that my thermostat wasn't secure. Said my issue might be a thermostat. NOTHING changed after their $500 bill. Rude on the phone when I tried to discuss the charges. Will NEVER use them again and I highly suggest anyone reading this doesn't either. LOOK ELSEWHERE.

They sent a technician out to assess the problem. He told me the freon was leaking, it would cost me $500 to fill with freon and labor, and that I probably needed a new unit. They charge $100 per pound for freon. A friend of mine recommended a local heating and air conditioning company, with a great reputation and reviews, he had been using for years. Their technician told me it was low on freon and suggested I fill it up and see what happens. He charged me less than $200, not $500, and it's working fine for now. They charged me $75 per pound for freon. I had both companies give me estimates to replace my Mitsubishi unit if I need to replace it. Hickory Heating and Air gave me an estimate for $9800. The other company, for the same exact Mitsubishi unit, gave me an estimate of $7500. Same exact unit, same warranty, same everything. A difference in price of 5-10% is normal with getting estimates and can be expected. A difference of 30% is excessive and gouging the customer. Needless to say, I won't be using Hickory Heating and Air again. I would suggest getting several estimates before dealing with Hickory Heating and Air.
