Discount Carpet was one of the first places I shopped, after 3 months of comparison I still couldn't beat the consultation, concern for our needs and the price we were quoted by Discount Carpet. I was of the opinion that a smaller tile store wouldn't have enough options for me. I was wrong! As soon as I walked in, the owner Jeff greeted me and truly took an interest in me. He asked all the right questions to get an idea of the style of the home, our price range, etc. Jeff then proceeds to walk over and pulls this porcelain marble off the shelf. He brings it over and says "What do you think?" and he described the tile to me in detail. He then proceeded to put additional details with the tile and within 30 minutes of walking in the store, I had my tile picked out for my Master and Guest Showers! All I can say is anyone that is building or remodeling a home knows that picking out tile is probably the hardest part of the project. Gary Gantt is a very pleasant guy. He got a good referral from a local real estate agent who said she used him to remodel her bathroom. He spent the time to ask what I wanted, walked through the house, and promised a written estimate. I followed his instructions in providing a detailed list of materials to be used as a basis for his estimate. He met with me a second time to assure me he could do the job. Long delay. After several emails requesting estimate, I decided to look for another contractor. Never got a response from Gantt to my emails or a written estimate. Cost of contract in the neighborhood of $30,000. At the very least, Gantt should have called or emailed that he was not interested, too busy, or some excuse so I could have moved forward with another contractor.
