I called this morning to get information for a friend who is now redoing the master bathroom and kitchen. The gal (a project manager) whom I spoke with was defensive when I inquired about how the new ownership process worked for granite countertops worked (measurements, choosing materials, pricing structure, etc). Very odd response. She talked very fast, spewing out a lot of detailed information but didn't really listen to or answer the questions I was asking. She seemed to have a need to prove herself. From what she said, I got the impression they prefer to work with designers not individuals. She was pretty arrogant. I could go on, but won't. At the end of the day, I just have to say I definitely would NOT recommend this company. New ownership bought a rock solid company and kept their name, but this is now a crumbling stone. Save yourself frustration and being treated like you are inferior. Look elsewhere for a pleasant experience for your project. I wish I could find out where Drake went, who managed my project years ago.

After an intensive search, I found Mark the owner of Wakeford Consulting. He was able to come to inspect immediately and showed me that he would be able to level it and he did not try to over sell me. He was fast and did an amazing job. He did let me know that they could do the installation if Home Depot kept delaying. Home Depot tried to schedule me over a month out so I called Mark and he was available within a couple of days. Along with installing the floor, he let me know that he could also take a look at my outside deck which I had told him needed replacing. At the same time as installing the floor, he was able to order and have delivered the wood needed for the deck. Between both projects it took about 2 weeks to complete which was absolutely amazing. Mark and his worker Justin are extremely hard working men. They are honest and quite enjoyable to work with. The pricing was very reasonable and I highly recommend them for any general contracting needs.

So I looked online, and Floor & Decor had exactly what I wanted, on clearance! Woohoo! This is a GIGANTIC store. It seems to have literally EVERYTHING flooring that your heart could desire. I was enchanted by some of the tile. But I don't NEED any tile, so sadly passed it up. They have tile that looks like wood! And marble! I needed waterproof vinyl plank flooring to go over concrete, as apparently peel-and-stick requires a plywood base and is therefore more effort. The waterproof stuff is just click-and-lock, and can be cut with an X-acto knife. You can use 6-mil poly as a vapor barrier. This is for a small outbuilding, so 7 boxes should be sufficient. A very nice young man loaded the boxes onto a cart, and then put them into my car for me! Their prices seem very fair, although I just zeroed in on what I needed and didn't have time to fully explore the store. The tile selection seems vast. Best part: they're well-stocked, at least with what I bought. I'm fully confident that if I need another box, they'll have it in stock.
