    Yummy burger
    Ashley H.

It was slammed for Wineglass Marathon weekend so it took awhile to get our food but once we did we were all very pleased with what we got. They had a lot of great beers on tap so my friends tried some local brews. We enjoyed the burgers and I liked the self-serve condiments so I could add as much or as little as I wanted to my burger. The fried pickle spears were yummy too. The inside was casual table and chairs and big booths seemed like a good place for families as there were many their and I liked that you could order easily at the counter and pay separately- that worked well for our group.

I decided to stay in Corning, and was craving a burger so stopped in. I sat at the bar and the waitress was fast to take my order I chose a sloppy joe burger, no bun, with cole slaw! The meal arrived quickly, hot and aromatic. I really enjoyed the meal at atmostphere. There were plenty of TVs with the Watkins Glen race, football, volleyball, etc. and lively conversation. I highly recommend you stop in!

This restaurant was pretty OK. I ordered a chicken Parm and french fries with cheese and bacon bits. The fries were piping hot just the way I like it. The chicken Parm was well seasoned. Maybe just a tiny bit too crisp but overall the food was good. When you come in, you seat yourself and go to the counter and order your food, someone did bring the food out, but I'm not sure if that's the norm but it's pretty much a self service type place, at least it was for me that day. It was only a few people inside so it did give a good ambience. I would definitely eat here again if ever in the area.

Delicious dinner! Salmon BLT and a burger (can't remember)

Delicious and one of our most favorite places to eat. This was a date night, but our kids specifically ask to dine at Burgers and Beer.

I am sitting at the bar and yet when I searched "nearby" it didn't come up... hope it's a glitch. This place is wonderful. Come in grab a menu from the basket and enjoy! Friendly staff, local feel and good food! Thank you for the great experience!

Way overpriced. Burgers are all over $10. Should be $6. Fries $5??? Should be $3 at the most. Very salty burger and small. No service.

Definitely a spot where you could linger for a while. Food-wise, we ordered the fried rice with crispy chicken (breaded in crushed Cheerios--yes, Cheerios, and yes, surprisingly delicious!), the bánh mì, and the crispy chicken sandwich, which ended up being the star of the show. Every bite of that sandwich was perfectly seasoned, crunchy, and satisfying. We upgraded our side to the greens, which came topped with some mysterious orange ingredient--maybe a grated carrot dressing? Whatever it was, it was scrumptious. We also ordered a side of pickles, which were surprisingly affordable and so flavorful that they disappeared fast. We didn't try any drinks, but the menu had plenty of interesting options to choose from. One of my favorite parts of the experience was how family-friendly the place felt: while we waited, the kids grabbed a new-to-us game (The Enchanted Forest) from the board game shelves, which made the time fly by. Service was attentive and friendly without hovering, and overall we had a fantastic experience. If we lived closer, this would be a regular lunch spot for sure!

Fourth of July 2025 weekend, I finally had a chance to grab a burger with them and holy moly, they were so right - This might be the best burger I've ever eaten! We arrived around 3:30pm on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised to grab a parking spot on the street, practically right in front of the entrance to Butcher's Son! They're located at one end of Market St. in Corning, now I don't frequent Corning often so I don't know if there's a big parking lot or more side streets to park along, but I could definitely foresee this street being packed with people and cars during the week. I think the time we arrived was a big part as to why we had no trouble getting a parking spot as well as being able to easily find a table after placing our order. The three of us walked in and it really is a butcher shop that has a small menu of burgers, fries, and specialty sandwiches (I saw a steak sandwich on their menu). There was a large, bar-style table with stools to sit along in the front with a station full of cutlery, napkins, packaged ketchup, stuff like that, nothing too fancy but clean and orderly. A courteous, friendly gentleman took our food order and told us to grab a seat anywhere we like and they'd get our food to us. We ended up taking over one of the tables, with an umbrella, outside and we were the only ones out there! It was nice to sit, talk, hang out for a bit, the relaxed, quiet atmosphere was nice. About 10-15 minutes later, all of orders were boxed up and brought out to us. For my late lunch/early dinner meal, I ordered the Fun Guy Burger, which is two smashed beef patties topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions, bacon jam, and Swiss cheese, along with a side of their hand-cut shoestring fries. Oh. My. Goodness! Wow, was this burger out of this world good. That had to be the freshest, juiciest, perfectly-cooked burger patties I have ever eaten. There were tons of sautéed mushrooms and onions on top and they were incredibly generous with the bacon jam. The Swiss cheese was melted just right and paired so well with the other toppings. The bun was toasted and held everything together very well. The burger itself is big and is honestly the perfect portion as you'll certainly be full without feeling any sort of "meat sweats"! haha They were very generous with the portion of fries as well. Personally, I liked the way these fries were cooked where they weren't crispy/crunchy but they weren't limp at all. Whatever they were fried in gave these fries an awesome flavor without having a ton of salt and pepper thrown on them. I really liked their fries; I'm not a huge fry-person but these would probably be at the top of my list. Another thing that I have to call out was how reasonable their prices were. Coming from Buffalo, burger prices are really expensive for what you get but Butcher's Son, my meal - burgers, fries, water, probably came near $20, maybe a few cents over that, which in 2025, is phenomenal value! My family told me that Butcher's Son came in first place in the New York Beef Council's "Best NY Burger" competition for 2025. My family and the competition judges are spot on and Butcher's Son totally deserves, and earned, the accolades and awards. Everything from the staff, the focused menu, the quality food, the portions, are great! Next time I'm in Corning, I can't wait to come back here and grab another burger and fries!

The first thing you notice is that this is a huge brew house. We thought it was closed because there's a sit-down area in the front before you get to the back where the bar is and the bartender was. Unlike your typical potato skins, these were thick but fried just right so the potatoes were cooked all the way through, the cheese was melted, and the bacon was crisp. Kind of like a deep dish version of potato skins. I always appreciate a solid beer list and as a brew house, Carey's had just that.
