We have lived in Bellevue for over ten years and just discovered Burgermaster a week ago and so impressed by the food here that we went again after our first visit last week. The children love the burgers which remind them of a better version of In N Out. The fish sandwich was amazing, lightly battered and not heavily laden with oil. The grilled chicken was good as well as fries and onion rings. Still a bit shocked at the quality of the food for the price! The service was amazing, the person who took our order and brought it along with his colleague was so cheery and seemed to genuinely take pride in his job. I've been in a burger hole since leaving my beloved in n out behind in San Diego but SHEEEEEEEESH this place HITS. I've had both the burger master and the double burger master. I think the entirety of the sandwich (buns lettuce sauce tomatoes) are really solid which I like to see, the ingredients feel fresh and the bread is mad soft. The meat and cheese is also really good, not dry, mixes well with the sauces texturally, and I feel like it supports the double patty well. Both are good, you don't have to worry about the double being too meaty or the sandwich part not being good enough for the single. It's lit The Dungeness melt is so good. More places ought to offer grilled cheeses especially late at night, what better drink food is there? Just kidding you can't beat tacos (if u disagree w me come to the border and see) the crab mixes super well w it too. Burgermaster is a charming regional drive-in that I stop by probably once every two weeks. Not the cheapest option out there, but very solid value nonetheless (a burger will drop you around 7 bucks). I've been thoroughly impressed with the quality of everything I've tried here besides the hot dog in a hamburger bun, that one is odd not gonna lie. Ingredients are super fresh and the seafood options (Dungeness + Swiss Melt and the Fish Sandwich which comes with two fillets!) come with a super generous amount of protein. The shakes are delicious too, so far my favorite is the Fresh Banana, but making my way through all the different flavors. Logistically, this place can get pretty busy, especially on weekends. I've definitely seen lines of cars waiting for a drive-in spot to open up. There are some parking spots along the sides if you want to opt for take-out and walk up to the central kitchen to order. My friend that lives close to here was so surprised I hadn't been here before that we immediately drove here for dinner. The whole experience of eating in the car at a drive-thru was super fun, it felt like a quintessential American experience. We got 2 regular burgers with all the fixins, a large fry, onion rings, and a vanilla and banana shake. Everything we ordered was solid, especially the shake! They used fresh banana in the shake so it had some yummy chunks in there. The service was pretty fast for ordering, but when we were done with the meal, I had my headlights on for around 10 mins and even flashed them on and off, but nobody came up to my car. There was clearly a worker that saw us our headlights on (which you are supposed to do for service), but no one ended up coming up to the car so I had to get out and bring the tray back to the workers instead. It's not a big deal, but it annoyed me because the whole purpose of these kind of drive-ins is that you don't have to get out of your car. read more

The fries have been a bit inconsistent for me, but when they are crispy I really enjoy them. They remind me of McDonald's fries in terms of the size, shape, and flavor profile. I've driven by Burgermaster more times than I can count and can FINALLY say I've tried it. I read and heard a lot of positive things leading up to today and can finally say I agree and understand. It was busy on a holiday, but we were able to pull into a spot along the back of the restaurant and wait to order. It took maybe ~10 minutes between ordering and having our food brought to us. We got the bacon master, fish sandwich, fries, and a drink for about $34. Not the cheapest meal, but considering the convenience, value, and flavor, I'd come back! Both the burger and fish sandwich were delicious. They have some set toppings for both, but they also offer additional free toppings! (We didn't opt for anything additional and wanted to try as-is) I don't usually order fish sandwiches, but this one was SO good and had so much fish in it. It tasted fresh and wasn't overly oily or greasy either - same with the burger and fries. I grew up up the hill from this burger spot. Many many many moons ago this used to be my spot! The burgers were delicious! Unfortunately , the last couple of years that i have made sure to visit this location during my yearly return home, the burgers just taste horrible. From the name, Burgermaster sounded like one of those gourmet, fast casual burger places that have become really popular in the past 20 years (e.g. Five Guys, Shake Shack, Hopdoddy). It's not...it was founded in 1952 in Seattle and with its 5 locations, serves up great burgers as a true drive-in. I never experienced one while growing up, and only started to know more about it once Sonic began a big expansion. The whole experience is meant to start and finish inside your car. There is no intercom system here...instead once you pull into an open slot, a car hop will come by the drivers side to take your order. It's a focused menu: besides the burgers, there is chicken, fish, turkey, even real Dungeness crab as the proteins. We ended up going classic with 4 burgers (3 burger masters of quarter pound fresh beef $7.50, and a kid burger plus cheese $5). You can customize and many of the toppings are free (pickles, lettuce, onions, jalapenos). Fries come in a cup ($3.50) and are shoestring. You get one free dipping sauce for each fry....we got the boom-boom (mayo with a bit of chili). The food was soon delivered to your car soon after. Everything was good, definitely better if you eat it fresh at the drive-in, but still pretty good at home. read more

Another Burgermaster visit was needed. Visited on a Saturday evening and it was super busy, had a couple people in their cars waiting for a spot. However, people only waited about 3 minutes or gave up and tried some place else. When I visited, I ordered via their site as I did not have a spot up front. I picked the option for them to bring my food up to my car, but I received a text saying my food was ready. I waited about 10 minutes and still no food. So I went up to the cash register and just got my food in no time. Fries were SUPER dry. Burger still tastes the same as I remembered though. Overall, at busy times like this, if you want your food immediately and are hangry, just go up to the register and get your food. I still will come back. read more

I just moved back to the area and it's hadn't had Burgermaster in over 15 years. Let me tell you? It's just as good as I remember! The burgermaster was great! I especially love the soft bun and let me recommend the jalapeños and grilled onions. The burger was slightly under seasoned for my liking but overall a good burger. The crab melt was a bit underwhelming and slightly one note but not terrible. Not sure I'd get it again but it's definitely something different for the non beef eaters. When I a yougin' I went to school with a girl who's last name was Burgermaster. Wonder if there is any affiliation? If so she lucky, because this is a darn good burger. Reminiscent of old timey burger spots where you order to a crew member who may or may not come out on skates to bus your order right to your car. Same case here sans the skates though (probably a worker comp accident waiting to happen). When your food comes it's on a car tray attachment just like in the Flintstones except it doesn't flip your car (that I know of) So let's get to the burger. The double bacon burgermaster was ordered up with fries and a shake. The burger was excellent. Usual fixins' lettuce, tomato but the 'sauce' which often seems non existent is good here. It has a tanginess to it. Doesn't hold together the best with the double, I give it a pass as it was very good otherwise. The fries were very good, lightly salted, no ketchup needed. Shake was great. Plenty of cookie crumbles and not too thick, though you can use a spoon. Kid size, is plenty big enough. So a Double, shake and small fries will run you about $20. Definitely a quality burger though. So somewhere in the middle as far as value but I for sure Will go again. read more
