My husband and I were passing through Salina and staying overnight at the hotel, so when we discovered there was a Burger Theory attached to the property, we were actually genuinely excited. We have eaten at Burger Theory locations in Phoenix before and have always had fairly good experiences there, so this felt like a comfortable and easy dinner option after a long travel day on the road. Unfortunately, this particular visit wound up being pretty underwhelming. When we arrived, much of the restaurant seating area appeared closed off, and guests were being kept primarily within one corner section of the dining room. I assume this was done to simplify cleanup and staffing management for the evening, which I can certainly understand from an operational standpoint, but it also gave the restaurant a strangely restricted atmosphere. Now after a long drive, honestly almost any hot meal feels welcome. But the food itself simply did not feel up to the Burger Theory standard we were expecting based on previous visits elsewhere. The burger meat tasted under-seasoned and lacked the savory richness and flavor I usually associate with a good burger. The food also arrived a little less warm than it probably should have been, which made the meal feel even less satisfying overall. And unfortunately, the service did not help improve the experience. Our server was difficult to find for long stretches of time, and on the occasions when she was visible, she often appeared focused on her phone instead. At a certain point my husband and I mostly just exchanged that quiet married-couple glance that says: "Well... this is probably not going to improve." Needless to say, we left feeling fairly disappointed and honestly just ready to finish dinner and retreat back to the room for the evening. We stayed one night at the Holiday Inn. We chose this hotel in part because we were excited to try the Burger Theory Restaurant in the lobby of the hotel. We were visiting family in town and had all planned on eating out together; there were 14 of us. We called ahead to ensure that they would be able to serve us as it was already after 8pm and there were so many of us. We were told that the kitchen doesn't close until 9 so it wouldn't be a problem to serve us. Upon arrival at about 8:35, we were met with a waitress who not only didn't want to serve us but was also very rude about it. She took over 5 minutes talking to her supervisor about weather or not they could serve us due to her being the only server. There was only one other table and a couple of people at the bar who all had already received their food. I was most upset about her rudeness and the refusal to serve us especially when we called ahead. We ended up going to Applebees, where they were more than happy to serve us $300 dollars worth of food and a generous tip. Breakfast: We had already purchased the breakfast vouchers while booking our room. We were pleasantly surprised that each voucher can get an additional kids meal for free. They did not have a kids menu but told us of a few options. Neither of our kids liked the waffles, they were out of menu items, and the food was very mediocre for the cost. We will be opting for a hotel with a continental breakfast for our next stay. read more

Great Burgers. It takes a lot for me to give a high rating to a place that claims a great burger and to even put it in their name. However, this place is up to the scrutiny. I went with a group of 10 people and we all ordered burgers of various kinds. All were done to the correct level (a lot of places mess this up) and the burger was honestly one of the best I have had. The server was attentive but not overbearing. The only downfalls I saw was this is in a hotel (great if you are staying there) and there were a lot of staff for the level of patronage and they were kind of mulling around the bar. They have specials and tonight at dinner it was a wrap that had 3 meats, cheese, lettuce, tomato and Italian dressing plus mixed vegetables which were very good. Instead of vegetables you could get fries, salad or onion rings - this was $6.99. Then I ordered a desert of key lime pie which was very good but overpriced at $5. The only reason I can't give it five stars is because it is a basic burger place. It is decent. I've had a few things on the menu and they were all fine. Pricing is reasonable weight staff is ever-changing, which is to be expected in a hotel restaurant. No major complaints just a regular old burger place. read more

Finally decided to try this place out after hearing lots of good things from others, and constant radio ads. As it turns out the house special burger with a side was on special today. Ordered medium well with onion rings. My food was brought to me very quickly, probably less than 8 to 10 minutes. Great presentation, looked so good. Then i started eating and unfortunately i came away unimpressed with it. The meat itself had pretty much no flavor at all. The bun was soggy due to some unidentified sauce they put on it that wasnt good at all. The onion rings werent cooked long enough leaving them thick with undercooked breading. I was also sitting in the booth next to another couple whose order was completely messed up coming out of the kitchen and they werent too happy. Im guessing between my order and theirs that whoever they had working in the kitchen just wasnt up to the job. However the service was great and my waiter came around several times to check on my which was lovely. I think a 3 star is about the best i can do based on the taste and quality of the food. Only the speed and friendliness of the staff got the extra star. I most likely wont ever eat here again as there are places in town that offer much more tasty burgers. read more

Came in and had dinner. Food was good we ordered off the build your own burger menu where you can create your own masterpiece! The best part was they had a veggie burger which was nice for my partner. Finding a vegan option in Salina is tough! Overall good experience a little pricey but will go back in the future. read more

With many ways to save when staying through Holiday Inn we were able to get happy hour drinks, burgers, meals for the kids, and dessert for a price that made me smile. Waited for over 20 minutes for someone to even greet us. When a waitress finally came, she was taking a couple that came in after us to be seated. When I said something she shows me a little slip of paper that they had put their name on at the bar. No one had come over to tell us how long the wait was or that they were taking names. You would think with a name like Burger Theory they would use fresh meat and have a large selection of burgers. Well, guess again. Their patties are the frozen ones you can buy at Sam's or Walmart. They have a selection of about 6 burgers and nothing that sets them aside from any other restaurant. For a restaurant in a hotel in a small town with barely anything surrounding, I'd say Burger Theory was pretty decent! We got there and sat down right away, even with a group of 11 (but it was Halloween night). My veggie burger was pretty good! I had it wrapped in lettuce and really enjoyed the taste. My side of vegetables on the other hand was really weak, and not worth the cost. The people I went with seemed to enjoy their food alright, so I wouldn't say that it's a bad place! Personally, I wouldn't choose the Burger Theory for anything other than a roadside stop for dinner. Considering there is nothing within miles of this place, eat there if you are hungry. read more

Located in the Holiday Inn, the restaurant is integrated with the lobby bar. Burgers (obviously), salads, a few other sandwiches, and a handful of entrees are available. There are a few specialty burgers available, or just build your own. Burgers come out medium-well (at least mine did), and juicy but not soggy (sorry Five Guys, your burgers are sloppy and I hate that). A large selection of craft and faux-craft beers are available, and service was attentive and fast. A bit on the pricey side for Salina, but convenient for a call weekend of work. read more
