Our server Jacob was entertaining, funny, and very knowledgeable about the wine menu and how the various dishes were prepared. Sarah, one of the managers, spent a good amount of time sharing the history of Salina with us since we are from out-of-town.

I travel for work so I'm always checking out new spots in love trying new places. They offer outside patio and inside dining as well as bar seating. The restaurant is very clean on the outside the inside and the surrounding areas. The bathrooms were very clean. They have table cloths that are changed after each customer. The decor is welcoming and feels fancy. My server was very sweet. She was kind. She explained everything. She offered her suggestions when I asked for advice, but she did also have her own recommendations, which I appreciated. She was an attentive to my needs. She also just converse with me as a regular person which I enjoyed. It wasn't just about the menu. The food was great. I had a side salad, my main course was a fillet with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and I tried the butter cake. To drink I got the pear mule with cinnamon. No complaints whatsoever. The salad was the freshest salad. I've had in a while, and I love the fact that it was not out of a bag.. the fillet was perfect. The mashed potatoes were perfect and dessert. The butter cake was phenomenal. My short visit here in Salina Kansas has been great and I thoroughly enjoyed eating at this great restaurant in a small town.

We were meeting our family here and despite having a huge group we were promptly seated. The interior of this place feels very small town Kansas, but that's not a bad thing, it just has a homey, casual vibe to it. Our server was incredible. If it was just a review on her hospitality I'd give this place a million stars. Part of the issue, well actually the biggest issue was that she was the only person working in the whole building. Despite being open and having a few tables with folks seated, there was only one person in the whole building and she was the server, the hostess, and the chef. So, we all ordered, all different brunch items, she apologized in advance for how long it might be and then she went back to make our meals. It took probably 45 minutes to get food to come out and it was pretty good overall. I won't say it was incredible or the best omelette I'd ever had, but it held up to other brunch spots and I enjoyed my meal. The main issue was how long it took, and the lack of help the staff had. When we were about halfway through our meal two more folks arrived, one was a very young man who worked to bus the tables etc. and the other was a man who appeared to perhaps be the owner? What really rubbed me the wrong way was how hard the woman in the back was hustling to get food out and how he just walked around and chit chatted with folks, when there were clear issues that morning getting food out the door. It just left me with a poor taste in my mouth regarding how employees and customer satisfaction is valued at this place. Overall though the food was pretty good, and I love supporting local places when we visit Lindsborg. I'm sure we will be back next time we're in town and I hope I have a better experience!

While in Wilson, we spotted the Midland Railroad Hotel and Restaurant and decided to arrange the itinerary for our next trip so we could spend the night in WIlson. So, we arrived late afternoon and got checked in. The hotel has been restored to what it was like around the 1920's but with full upgrades including fire sprinklers, air conditioning, etc. Our room was a bit on the small side (1920'ish) but was quite comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and we got a great night's sleep. The was a complimentary breakfast in the morning that consisted mostly of local bakery projects, meats and cheeses. If you looking for modern amenities or a full HOT breakfast, you should stick with the major hotel chains. BUT, if you're into history and histrorical restorations, this place can't be beat. We thoroughly enjoyed our night in Wilson at the Midland Railroad Hotel and Restaurant.

I had two fried medium eggs, bacon, awesome home fries, and toast. My husband had both sausage and bacon in his breakfast. (They must have run out of bacon). The coffee is the best coffee in Marion. It is as good as the coffee at Rhubarb Market in Hillsboro. Rhubarb Market does not make breakfast but they offer Quiche and scones, muffins, but not a real sit down breakfast. It's more of a coffee cafe. I was going to say that we found our daily breakfast joint but I just found out today 1/20/26 that Parlour 1886 is no longer serving breakfast Tuesday-Friday. What a disappointment. Anyway, Peabody has Pop's Diner, an awesome cafe that makes the best breakfast in the Tri-City Area since Parlour 1886 is not opened weekly for breakfast anymore. POP's Diner makes the best Opened--faced roast beef I've ever had with mashed taters and green beans; so try them for lunch too. Also, we have been to the restaurant in Galva, KS multiple times. It's about 25 miles West of Marion on highway 56. The Restaurant is named 56 Family Restaurant. They make the best breakfast in Galva, KS. They are always packed full but that's because their food is so good. And, for an incredible diner experience with the old fashioned counter with stools...you need to try out Neighbor's Cafe in McPherson, KS. They make real homemade food from scratch. Their biscuits are enormous...your plate needs another plate to make room for the overflow. They are closed Sunday and Monday. Back to Parlour 1886, even tho they are not serving breakfast during the week, we will be going back for Saturday & Sunday Brunches.
