We stopped in at Coop's Pizzeria after a long day of traveling with five kids, and they made us feel completely at home. The staff went above and beyond--from bringing the kids pizza dough to play with, buckets of toys, and a soft basketball game while we waited, to surprising them with mini cupcakes after dinner. They were genuinely kind and welcoming. The food was excellent too! The pizza was fresh and delicious, and the salad with cranberries, oranges, olives, roasted red peppers, and house vinaigrette was outstanding. The bathrooms were clean, the service was exceptional, and this is one of the most family-friendly restaurants we've visited. If you're traveling with kids through Salina, this place is absolutely worth a stop! read more

We stopped for the night in Salina. Went and picked up a Chicago style pizza from Coops. It was amazing! Rich red sauce, plenty of toppings. Only problem was we needed forks! I had an Italian sausage calzone and bread sticks. The calzone was very good. The crust was perfectly cooked with light texture and not overly crunchy on the outside. It was served with marinara sauce for dipping. The bread sticks were good also. My wife had a salad with chicken. She said it was very good. It wasn't your run of the mill iceberg lettuce salad. It had green leafy lettuce and spinach. She had it with vinaigrette dressing. The staff is very nice and attentive to our needs. We never had to wait for a refill on our drinks, which was delicious iced tea. Even with several tables filled with patrons, the wait was acceptable. Even though the restaurant is in a shopping mall and thus not a swanky place to impress your date, it was still clean and acceptable. read more

Ordered the Meatatarian Calzone to share. The buttery crust made for a wonderful light and airy calzone with a nice amount of filling. Seen cinnamon sticks on the menu so had to give them a try. Definitely a 'locals kind' of restaurant. Saturday special was 2 10in personal pizzas, with 2 toppings each, for price of one. Autumn, our server, made us feel warm and welcomed. Pizza crust was hand tossed and nice and crispy. Lots of toppings. Food was nice and hot. It's a little hard to find. GPS took us to Santa Fe street but it's assessable from parking lot behind the main store fronts. Glad we took a couple mile detour to eat here. read more

(If you park on Santa Fe it is through the walkway) The waitress was friendly and offered cheese and hot peppers with the order. The pizza was good. It had more of a thin crust to it. The pizza was gone very quickly, no leftovers. The only con was the pizza was quite a bit more expensive than chain pizza. The Cinnamon Bread was loaded with cinnamon. The waitress even made a comment about how the amount of cinnamon that was in there. I stopped by here once for work because everyone was raving about the pizza. A year later I remembered how much I liked it, so when we were driving through Salina, I made a point to have a group of us stop in to try it again. We love the supreme which is loaded with fresh ingredients and premium meats for a reasonable price. The calzones are excellent as well and sized for a hearty appetite. Salads are very good too with mixed greens and I'd recommend the Greeks salad dressing which is a bold vinaigrette. Give the wings and bread sticks a try as well some of the best in town. We had garlic Parmesan wings which had great garlic flavor, cheese sticks which came with House made marinara sauce and white pizza which was recommended by the server. One of the best white pizzas I ever had. All of them were delicious! Nothing pretentious. Just simply good food with old school atmosphere. Delicious pizza! Crust is unique and super good. Ordered a pepperoni and mushroom 14" pizza - the pepperoni was not your usual pepperoni that Domino's or Pizza Hut uses. It was almost like Canadian bacon, to me. Very good. The breadsticks are great, too. Lightly baked and buttered. And I loved how they served the side salad with spinach and romaine greens instead of iceberg lettuce.
