Stopped at this place while traveling and overall it was a positive experience - the building is quite old and could use some work, the roof was actually leaking when we were there and there was a bucket to catch the drips. The pizza was great though, nice crust, lots of toppings, and it didn't take too terribly long to receive our food, cost was reasonable as well. Pizza was ok but bread sticks tasted like beer, deep fryer mushrooms were merely sliced mushrooms that were pizza toppings. Place was hot amd had weird smell to it and was just over all not a good place. Toilets arent bolted down. Its a run down place over all read more

Don't let the reviews about a dingy restaurant keep you away, I feel as though they were overblown. What brought me here was memories from childhood on a trip from Texas to Nebraska. We got the big 10 pizza and the cheese was baked over and with the veggies, which keep true to the Big Cheese style. Pizza was good and so was the experience. we plan on making this a traditional stop on the way from Nebraska to Texas and back. read more

The good: The pizza at this place was decent. Not great, but better than the fast food you get at Pizza Hut / Papa John's / Domino's / Little Ceasar's / etc. The bad: This was possibly the dirtiest restaurant I have ever eaten at, and that's saying something. This was one step above eating dinner in Buffalo Bill's basement. Our arms stuck to the table. Our hands stuck to the soda cups. My wife found some grit in the bottom of her cup. The building itself is in pretty serious disrepair, but worst of all were the bathrooms. In the men's room, my feet stuck to the floor and I was afraid to actually touch anything. My wife reported that the women's room had a single dim, flickering light and was "dark like in a horror movie." Our order was also taken by a girl who looked like she was maybe 9 or 10 years old, including ringing up our credit card -- she almost charged us $81 instead of $18 before one of the adults wandered past and corrected the error. I'm giving it a 3/5 for the pizza and a 1/5 for the atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant. My rating above is a split between those two. I'm not saying stay away, especially if you're stuck in Salina and you want mediocre pizza instead of terrible pizza... just know what you're getting into. read more

My mom and I were here for the Kathleen Madigan show on the weekend of the 8th and we just looked for a random restaurant to stop at. We were thinking pizza so we looked at pizza shops on our GPS and ended up here. There was only one other pair of people eating there so it was pretty mellow in there. The pizza was good and the salad bar stuff was clean and fresh. Pretty good! I think my only complaint was that the girl working the register looked maybe 12 or 13 and she didn't seem to really understand what she was doing. Not her fault, but just kind of made me wonder why someone so young was working behind the counter. And maybe I'm wrong and she just looks young, but I think the other two ladies working behind the counter left the poor girl out to dry. read more

We were wanting pizza and this restaurant had a 3 1/2 star rating so we thought it would be a good place to eat. As we drove up, i noticed there weren't very many cars parked outside and it was during the lunch hour. As we walked to the entrance It smelled good so we continued inside. The lady was nice as she took our order. We sat down and I was turned off by the lack of upkeep of the place. A window was shattered in the atrium. To me, the place seemed dirty. We got our pizza and it was ok. I wouldn't say it was about the same as Little Caesar's or Domino's. I didn't like the sauce. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

This is the pizza of my childhood. The moment we walked in the door my wife and I were both attacked by memories. The simple but tasty choices (One of the few places you can find sauerkraut as a standard topping) gave us exactly what we had been yearning for. Yes, the decor leaves much to be desired, but this review is about the pizza. We were traveling from Nebraska and decided that we really wanted pizza. We called the hotel where we'd be staying and asked for a recommendation expecting to have a pizza delivered for when we arrived. The desk clerk told us only chains delivered and we didn't want to waste a vacation dinner on a chain restaurant. He told us that the Big Cheese didn't deliver but was really good. So, we called ahead and put in our order. When we arrived we were the only ones in the restaurant as it was going to be closing in 15 minutes. Our pizza was hot and delicious. It reminded me of the pizza place of my hometown, a thin pie with good sauce and good cheese. It so hit the spot and comforted these weary travelers. I would avoid the garlic bread though, it was pizza dough with garlic served with cold pizza sauce. It was just ok and not worth wasting space that could be filled up with good pizza. read more

I would love to give them a 5, the pizza was awesome, the lady who rang us up was kind of grouchy but decent. We love this pizza! However after the fact we were charged twice and I talked with a very nice person who worked there who instructed me what I needed to send them for a refund. I did exactly what she said and the person who called me back was a totally different person, I recognized her voice to be the kind of grouchy lady. Needless to say instead of just giving me the refund for the extra charge she told me I would have to have my financial institution talk with her. What? Why? I sent her proof that I was charged twice. I firmly believe, had I got to speak to the lady that told me what they needed to do this refund in the first place, it would have been a no problem, I even am wanting the cheaper refund that was charged because I included a tip on the second one she ran because the first transaction (didn't seem to go through on their machine) but it went twice rather than once. read more

I love this place. The pizza is absolutely awesome. Haven't been in for a couple years since the young lady at the counter is gone, but that doesn't change the fact that the food is so damn good.
