It's been a hot minute since I've ate here but when we did it was Good. Service was good and good was good.

An interesting visit to Chuck's Bar. Not quite the same results as my stop in February. I did recommend this to our group because we had great service and good food! This time maybe a bit different. Our group of 8 started out with the Potato Skins and The Sampler! Both were very good and would definitely recommend! I chose the Whiskey Creek Burger as did two others in our group. The consensus / good burger but overcooked and not enough bbq sauce. Another chose the Leroy Brown, 2 more got Bacon Cheese Burger, another 1/2 Club - overall the lunch was well liked. Our server was great and she kept on top of everything. Doubtful our travels will pass through here again but if in the area it's a worthy stop! read more

Miss the old staff get Bernie back!! This was one of the worst visits I have ever had at Chuck's. We ordered a sampler platter for appetizer and substituted the rattle snake eggs instead of wings. We ordered trash can nachos and sliders as our meals. The nachos were the first thing to come out, yes before the appetizer. They were terrible, no lettuce, no shredded cheese, had ordered with extra jalapenos, there were none. The top had some kind of hamburger gravy looking stuff on it, the pico was completely hidden, they didn't taste good. The cheeseburger sliders came out and one had mushrooms on it. Finally the sampler came out and it was all pretty much burnt, the rattle snake eggs had bacon on it that was so done it just feel apart and the peppers were burnt. The waitress came over and got us boxes and left the check and listen to our concerns. She obviously didn't want to face the problem because she never came back to the table. Stopped by here in our way from San Diego to Indianapolis. Was a little worried about the mixed reviews but shouldn't have been. Staff was attentive and friendly. Food came out quick and was hot. We had the carne asada tacos and a hot chicken avocado bacon wrap with tater tots. The 1/2 order of trash can nachos was easily a meal. We quit going to Chuck's because the food and service had declined significantly. We haven't been there in months so we decided to give it another try. We were pleasantly surprised. I stumbled on this place on a drive across Kansas. This place is so cool. A mountain west theme that really gives a great vibe. Then the food came and was even better. It's no wonder this place was packed even at 2 on a Sunday. I'll never drive past this spot again without a stop. A+!!! read more

Definitely a dive bar and Definitely unfit for the show, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives! The waitstaff are surly and act like they're divas. If the kitchen decides they don't want to cook, forget food. Although they have multiple taps, they are often out of your first two or three choices. They offer specials that are generous in size but not in taste. It is not unusual to not get what you ordered. There are a couple of plusses. The have ONE waitress who is hardworking and hussles to get drink orders served and food orders out. The also have large beer mugs at a reasonable price (if your choice is available). Will not return. read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to grab some grub. We walked into Chuck's bar and no host or hostess was ready to seat us. After walking up to one of the employees she made it apparent that we were bothering her and it would be at least a 45 minute wait until the kitchen opens. A good hostess or customer service experience in general would be, "Unfortunately the kitchen doesn't open for another 45 minutes but we have a bar that's open with games and puzzles in the next room." That was the answer I was expecting. Not a snobby response like "it's going to be 45 mins before you can be seated." ... Like let's try to keep the hungry customer inside the restaurant so we can make the sale and they can enjoy our delicious food. That's how it is supposed to be done. Didn't even get the chance to eat there so I can't even give it a food rating, just the customer service alone was terrible. Don't go here. Unless you are looking for a alcoholic beverage. Love Chuck's! I have never had a bad meal at Chuck's, and the daily specials are hard to beat. I've had the summer special a couple of times: side salad with lots of veggies on it and a half sandwich (the southwest turkey is my favorite-delicious!) for $8! read more

Kinda of a Roadhouse? A casual laid-back atmosphere with good food and cold beer. What more could you ask for.

Drinks were great. And we had an amazing waitress, Rose. Despite the challenges that she, and we, had with the kitchen staff she did an amazing job. There was an issue with the dozens of flies. The kitchen was EXTREMELY slow. Only 1/2 our food came out after at least an hour. We were told the kitchen staff were angry that customers were complaining about how long it was taking and threw food at our waitress. The food did taste great, but was very very slow and cold when it arrived. All three managers were called about the issue snd none of them answered. Drinks tasted great and the waitress did an amazing job at making sure we were attended to as much as she could. Thanks again to Rose who made the experience much better despite her many challenges with the kitchen staff. read more

The service is always fast and helpful. I always get a specialty mixed or frozen drink when I go, always yummy! They have changed their menu in the kitchen but haven't updated their paper menus. They changed the bun/ bread and the jalapeños on the Leroy brown. Not a fan of the recent changes. read more

Worst food ever! On May 5, 2024 my family of 5 adults and one child went to Chuck's for lunch. We were at the table a full 15 minutes before the waitress came over to ask us for our order. She took our food order, and then we didn't hear or see anything from the waitress for another 65 minutes!!! When the waitress finally returned to our table, she brought only ONE adult food plate, and the food was cold----and the chicken fried steak was so tough, we bent the knife trying to cut it. Then she brought out only my pastrami sandwich and fries, which was also cold but soggy too. Horrible! So now we're approaching an hour and 20 minutes and STILL only two out of five adults have their food (which was inedible). Shocking. Just shocking! read more

So disappointed! We've stopped here on our way to Colorado every year for the last 4 years, and every year it gets progressively worse. Ordered a burger that was way over cooked, like a hockey puck. Tator tots tasted as if the fryer oil hadn't been changed since our last visit. Such a shame but I've given up. read more

First and likely last time to visit Chuck's! 45 minutes to get a waitress' attention and a glass of water. Took another hour to get food and it was stone-cold, very unappetizing, left most of it on the plate. Place was busy but not packed, was Saturday afternoon. I get it wasn't entirely waitress's fault on late food, but even drinks took way longer than it should have. Sorry, Chuck's, can't recommend you to anyone. read more

5/30/2017 - Had the Pepper Jack Wrap and chips this time. Tracy, great personality, was my server and she did a great job!! Wrap tasted great and was almost to juicy. Chips were awesome as always. Definitely becoming my go to for lunch when I'm in Salina. 2016 - Boss, co worker and I all had burgers. HUGE!!! They are so big you have to smash them down just to try and get a bite!! I had the one with ham, fried egg and all the fixings. Boss had a bacon cheeseburger and my co worker had the one with the jalapeños. A little greasy but they are great tasting. Also had some good onion rings. There was one side salad that had everything. Kinda just a bar type place but very nice. Lots of TV's. Will definitely go back again. read more

A few things... first none of the staff were wearing masks but they were very friendly. The Garbage Nachos I felt were more of a gimmick and had about 2 bites of chicken. The Snake Eggs were so spicy we ate the bacon off one and left the rest. No offer to remove it from the bill but then again, we didn't ask. Was driving thru on our way back home to Texas & read the raving reviews for Chuck's Bar. The food is large in size & great in price! Most of all we enjoyed the whole restaurant bar itself tables booths & friendly servers. If we're ever in town again we will definitely be back to enjoy some really good eats!! read more
