What stood out most was the quality of the beef, the most tender, succulent cut of ground meat you can ever hope for, and grilled to perfection. I don't get overly excited about burgers, but this was the apex and I thought I had died and gone to burger heaven. All this is a very charming, tasteful pub in the Cotswolds countryside. Comfortable, cozy and oh so pleasant. We came for lunch just after noon at seated in the restaurant. We were given a choice of that or the pub/bar section. I washed it down with a pint of Cotswold Pale Ale... a great choice with the lunch. Service was professional, friendly and fun. They were very engaged and thoughtful and I highly recommend going out of your way to visit and enjoy this establishment.

The only complaint was the very stingy application of cheese, we would definitely have preferred more but the meat and chips were delicious. Plain fries were good. I really like the decor, clean, crisp and modern with no gimmicks which is a refreshing change to some other burger places around. I ordered corn On he cob as a side as my baby loves it and also some hash browns. The only thing stopping me from giving this 5 stars was the chips, we went for hand cut chips which were more like wedges than chips and not that nice, next time I will go for fries though and maybe I'll update this with an additional star. I also do fear that on a busy week day lunch time the place may become too rammed up with buggies as north street is parent central, I'm sure the management will be able to come up with an innovative solution though. Review of McRib Experience (16th October)…read more I've been waiting for the McRib to return for a while, so I bought two. Right away, I noticed a nasty smell in my car, which I thought might just be odd. When I got home and opened the pack, the bun was completely soggy due to an excessive amount of sauce, and the smell was really off-putting. I thought, "It's the McRib, it'll be okay." However, after taking a bite, I realized something was very wrong. The taste was horrid; the best way I can describe it is like burnt sick on a soggy bun. It was utterly disgusting, and I couldn't finish it. I decided to take the McRibs back to the store. When I explained to the staff that the burgers were not right, the woman insisted they hadn't changed. But I could tell they have. The smell and taste were so poor that I had to return them. I got a refund and expressed my disappointment. This was a terrible burger experience, and the staff wasn't particularly helpful. The McRib definitely isn't the same as it used to be. If this is how it's going to be, they might as well scrap it altogether. The smell was unbearable. Rating: Very Poor

They were very nice when I ordered and the menu is the same as what I was used to. When I got to my room to eat, the burger looked exactly as I expected... until I began to look at it. The lettuce was just a single piece of sort of wilted iceberg lettuce. I'm not sure why they couldn't have included more and used fresher lettuce that was crispy and crunchy. I ordered my burger with jalapeno and I assumed since it was on the menu, they would put them on. I found one slice of jalapeno. And yet I had ordered it with no mushrooms and it was full of mushrooms. I realize mushrooms might be more common place over here, but I specifically asked for jalapenos. The beef also was a little less than desirable. I never thought there would be such a difference in beef, but it lacked the flavor I'm used to back in the states. And coming from Texas, the beef is fresh and certainly has a different taste to it. The burger was hot, fresh and looks amazing. But the taste was bland, the lettuce wilted and sparse and they seem to hold back on toppings (jalapeno). I also ordered fries which Five Guys is also very know for. They were cooked well, but taking ketchup was a bit of an ordeal. They have the traditional small paper cups for eating in. They also seem to have small plastic containers with lids but you have to ask for them and when you do, all I received was one and this was for a medium order of fries. I do not know whey they don't have them available to just use at will but if I have to ask, why not give me a few or even ask me how many I want? I was only able to get one slice of jalapeno and one plastic cup for ketchup. I'm not sure why this place is so restrictive. Back in the states, the burger would have been loaded with jalapenos and I would not have to ask for the plastic cups. If you are coming to Five Guys and you have never experienced it... I would just say this place is average and does not truly represent the type of meal or service you would receive at a Five Guys in the states. It was disappointing as I was really craving a bit of food from home and instead, received something less.

Perhaps its because the alternatives are drearily subpar or the fact that you can't ask for more than a good burger but I've now been to GBK twice in two days and am considering completing the hat trick tomorrow. The burger quality is very good and despite the burger not being large (by American standards) it comes on a nicely toasted bun with a load of toppings. The burger cannot be picked up and eaten without being cut. Now, a good burger alone would be tempting but the options are various and delicious. I had a Habanero burger on my first visit and the sauce had a very nice kick to it, unlike other places that weaken the burn this was full of it. The restaurant itself is nice and clean with an intentional diner atmosphere. The service has always been excellent. Seating outside is pleasant and not too noisy with a lovely view of a water fountain. However usually that isn't quite enough to get five stars from me. Generally we'd be looking at enthusiastic four stars. But our last visit really added that final star of excellence in my mind: You see, I am currently training a service dog and part of what makes that particularly hard, is that it is almost impossible to find places that allow you to practice. The special scents and excitement of a burger place are hard to recreate at home. Restaurants will often allow you to sit outside, but if you are not rearing a winter hardy breed, that is unhelpful in winter. Thus, imagine my surprise and delight when I called ahead to Milton Keynes GBK and was informed that they kept a special table specifically for service dogs in training. It turned out to be right next to the door, making emergency dashes easier and keeping us out of the way of other patrons. The staff was exemplary and ever so kind. The cooks cooed, but refused to touch him as otherwise they would have to disinfect both themselves and the kitchen, which made me feel rather pleased about the strictness of their hygiene rules. All in all it was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back for some more practice (and delicious burgers). Plus, as with most fast food restaurants, most of the drinks cups are filled with ice that you have to ask for none, or you'll get very little drink in it. Also, there's one staff member that always seems to get my order wrong, so I usually have to speak to her in quite a patronising tone, as I'm not difficult to hear, she just doesn't seem to understand what a Large fries and regular diet coke is. It was hot last week, so I went to get a chocolate milkshake during my lunch break. I gave my order and the young bloke laughed and said we don't do chocolate. I hesitated and said Do you mean you don't sell it, or the machine is broken? He shrugged and said Haven't done it for about three months I gazed at the menu on the wall, which stated chocolate milkshakes. The premises is kept quite clean and apart from the odd fly buzzing around it's usually quite nice to sit in and eat. I will say though, the short blonde cleaning lady needs to learn english, as when I was queuing she was trying to get past the man that was before me in the queue, and she just looked at him before eventually pushing him with the bin bag. In England, we say Excuse me! Even in Germany they say Entschuldigung sie bitte! What I also find irritating about her is the way she storms in to clean a table when the families aren't even finished.
