Could this be the benchmark of all burgers in Canada? I tried the original cheeseburger combo with double patties and fries, and it was textbook perfect!Exactly what I imagine a burger should be. Normally, I'm not a fan of many toppings, especially pickles. But it was that pickles in this burger really hit the mark, adding just the right balance and playing well with the other ingredients. The texture was incredibly satisfying; I'm almost at a loss for words to describe it adequately. As for the fries, they might be a bit too hard for some tastes, but they were the one of two best fries I've ever had in Canada. They were hard yet crunchy, with a chewy, soft interior and just the right amount of seasoning, absolutely delightful. Despite the constant bustle and endless line of customers, the staff were remarkably helpful as well, readily answering my questions and accommodating my requests which is a rarity these days. Burger drops - is it truly the best smash burger in the city? After visiting, this statement is still up for debate. I think I came in with high expectations. Needless to say, it was still really good. Located in the lovely Liberty Village, Burger Drops is a small space with limited seating. Overall, the space is very limited. It is very popular and more often than not you're waiting shoulder to shoulder with others for your food. It was a bit chaotic to order as there is seating on one side, the washrooms on the other, the line in the middle, and those waiting for food scattered everywhere. You do get a buzzer which indicates when your food is ready, which is helpful. Like mentioned before, seating is pretty limited so we ended up eating the food in the car. The burger itself was pretty good. The patties are huge! My bun barely covered it and I ended up having it spilled everywhere. However, it wasn't too oily and just the right amount of crisp for a smashed burger. The potato bun was toasted well, and it was not too soggy. I really enjoyed their house sauce and the caramelized onions. While this is a top 3 burger in my books, I'm not too sure it was the best. We tried the crinkle cut fries, curly fries, and onion rings. The crinkle cut fries were perfectly crisp. If you like onion rings, they are really delicious here! The curly fries were so-so. I've held off reviewing Burger Drops purely because I'm in disbelief that it is this good and that I have yet to find anything unpleasant about the food. There's also part of me that wants to gatekeep the place, but I can't not share this gem with everyone I will start off by saying that Burger Drops was the place that had me start eating meat again after 20+ years of being a vegetarian. My fiancee was insistent on finding the perfect place for my first time, and she chose the perfect place indeed. After which, they got me hooked on their pickles despite being a pickle hater! Highly recommend their classic burger, extra pickles, with half curly fries, and half onion rings. The fries have the perfect amount of seasoning, whereas the rings are perfectly crispy! If you want an extra patty, you can get the double. Their cheese fries are also delicious, and the jalapeno relish is such a great addition to it. During the summer, I would drive 40 minutes once a week to get a burger from here. The cuts of meat they use is the perfect ratio to get a crisp patty that is never dry! If you are taking it to go, get the sauce on the side, and this will make reheating the burger easier. Their banana pudding is a delicious dessert to end off on, and if you go in on a Saturday, you need to get their cruller! read more

If you haven't tried Burger Drops yet, you're missing out! Hands down one of the best burger joints in the DT core. I ordered the DOUBLE ORIGINAL, which is made up of two 3.5 oz. patties, griddled sweet onion, American cheese, house pickles, Drop Sauce, all on a toasted potato roll. They've mastered the smash burger, as the patties are juicy but have a crispy edge. This is heightened by how crunchy their house pickles are and I love the contrast of these textures against their soft potato bun! All very simple ingredients, done to perfection. Flavorful without being too salty. I paired this burger with some of their seasoned curly fries and neglected to realize that it comes with their Drop sauce, hence why I also ordered a side of garlic mayo. Regardless, no one complains about extra sauce, it just meant I had more to choose from. On another visit, I picked up their BANANA FOSTER PUDDING with the following description off their site: "caramelized rum banana, with a hint of clove and cinnamon, layered over top of a classic vanilla bean custard and finished with a brown butter cereal crumble." I know for some, the rum really makes this treat elevated and unique but I personally could have done without that touch since I did taste the bitterness from it. However, it truthfully did help to balance out the sweeter components. My favorite part was undoubtedly the crumble on top which resembles granola, giving a nice contrast in texture. The veggie burger is easily one of the best in the city; it's crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the flavour is perfect. Came here with my colleagues. I was told by many people that their burgers are very good. They do a smash burger and when they grill the paddy they make sure the edge gets caramelized. I got the original double patty with onion rings and a drink. The burger was tasty and it was freshly made (they are made to order and the wait is about 10 mins). I think it was a bit too much for me. Next time, I will definitely order a single patty instead. Each patty is about 3.5 oz. The onion rings were super delicious. They were super crispy. It had relish, cheese, lettuce and onions. It was extremely tasty and I definitely would go back to try their chicken burger. The staff is extremely friendly and lovely. I love burgers. I like asking friends what their favourite burger joints are. One of my friends mentioned Burger Drops. I bookmarked it and was waiting for the right time to head down. That right time was last Friday. After having taken in the Gogh in car immersive experience, I needed something close by. Burger Drops, it was! It has been a few months since I was last in Liberty Village. I didn't have a problem finding Burger Drops. Parking was interesting. There are two customer spots in front of the store. A Mini was parked poorly and occupied both spaces such that I couldn't park there. Instead, I parked next door at a shawarma place. The Mini owner decided to finally leave. I then pulled out of my shawarma spot and parked where I should have been able to, in the first place, in front of Burger Drops. I sometimes wish that folks were more courteous when it comes to parking. I headed up the stairs to Burger Drops. The row of stores in this area is accessible by stairs only. It's a bummer if you are looking for ramp accessibility. A friendly, cheerful woman said hi to me. I reciprocated. I love burger places that have a simple menu. It makes my ordering life easier. It consists of two beef patties, griddled sweet onions, American cheese, house pickles, and drop sauce, all on a toasted potato roll. One word: fantastic! The patties were smashed. The edges were crispy. The patties were so flavourful and juicy. I loved the sweet onions, cheese, sauce, and house pickles. It's simply the perfect burger. That potato roll was soft and toasted perfectly. I then had the toasted coconut pudding. It was such a delight to eat. The bottom level had dark chocolate mousse. On top of the mousse was a layer of coconut pudding. It was topped off with Oreo crumble and toasted coconut. I loved the contrast between the crunchy Oreo and toasted coconut, and the smooth silk mousse and pudding. It's heaven in a cup. It was the perfect size to cap off my meal. I love a good root beer. This one had more sugar in it than I'm used to, but the root beer flavour was on point. It was refreshing and paired well with my meal. I had an excellent experience. I'm a fan. I went to Burger Drops on Sunday afternoon after seeing all the rave reviews on TikTok. I thought that the restaurant will be more crowded, but I was able to get a table. The menu was pretty limited and I ordered double original cheeseburger with fries. Service was friendly and I was given a pager letting me know when the food is ready. The double cheeseburger was pretty good and delicious. But I am not a big fan of smash burgers since I prefer my hamburgers to be thick and heavy. But it was a good smash burger. I felt like it was Christmas when I found out Burger Drops was opening a location in Liberty Village. They had pop-ups before and I figured this was another popup during COVID, but fortunate for me (I currently live in LV) they ended up sticking around for well over a year now! I can honestly say IMHO these are the best burgers in Toronto, possibly all of Canada. Alot of burgers from Toronto rely on trills and frills, yunno ridiculous toppings, massive size portions, sauces, truffles, etc. Burger Drops on the other hand, serve fresh made-to-order smash burgers with simple ingredients; Brioche Buns, cheese, beef and drop sauce! The fresh cut fries and onion rings are a nice touch as sides, but the desserts are the perfect size/portion to end a great meal. The customer service is great as well, they have a good buzzer system where customers wait outside with pagers to allow for social distancing. Made a special trip down Sunday for burger lunch with an old friend. First time going and did not disappoint at all. Portions are very large, I'd even suggest next visit we'd share the fries. Everything cooked to order so a bit of a wait but nothing out of the ordinary. Place is tiny with very few seats so wanting to dine in is like winning a lottery. Staff really friendly and given the portion size and quality I say this is good value. Is it best burger I've ever had ? Nope. This restaurant opened 2020-09-18. It specializes only in smash burgers and fries. The burgers seem to be all the rage so we had to come and try it. We bought the Double Cheeseburger ($10.50) and Fries ($4.00). The burger was excellent but I found the fries too crunchy. The ketchup package they gave was interesting. You can open the spout for squeezing or open the lid for dipping. There are 2 narrow parking spots in front of the restaurant. There is a patio space for outdoor dining. They follow pandemic rules like limiting the number of people inside. People tend to wait outside in the patio space until their order is ready. The staff here are very friendly suggested ... since it's my first visit here to try the Cheeseburger. So going with the Cheeseburger with double beef patties. The patties have a nice charred edge, you can taste the quality beef with fried onions, crunchy pickles served with their creamy Drop sauce on a soft potato bun. I first heard about this burger place from Jet Bent Lee, son of kinda famous Susur Lee (Iron Chef, owner of Lee's). I don't usually trust people's taste in food but I know Jet is a pretty honest guy. After a couple of months, I've finally been able to try and I gotta say it's pretty good. Cute interior, following COVID guidelines. Kitchen looks really clean and organized, looks like they appreciate their customers a lot with a picture wall. Now on to the food, the burger was really good. Not mind blowing, but really good. Beef was nice and crispy but juicy as well, as smash patties should be. Well sauced, looks like a mayo combination of some sort called Drops sauce. Nice cheese, sweet caramelized onions, proper amount of pickles, soft toasted potato bun. It's got all my checkmarks of a good burger. Definitely a contender to one of the burgers in Toronto. Saw this burger joint spot in Liberty Village. My family and I came and gave it a try. I must say, even with just a single patties the size was pretty filling. I love their (I think it's relish sauce) that's inside the burger. Service was fast and they were very organized even after us having to order 6 burgers. The place is small on the inside but I'm sure during warmer weather they would have seating outside the patio. Since I am not from around here, at least I can say I have experience Burger Drops. Honestly we've tried many places that are deemed good burger joints, but hard to find the top tier ones that match Holy Chuck's level where we deemed them as one of the best we've had so far... After watching some well known chef list this place as their choice for burgers, we had to give this place a try. The menu is super simple where you can order their popular original burger or the American. They also have a chicken burger and veggie burger. The sides they have cheese fries, curly fries, crinkle fries and regular fries all about $6. You can of course upsize to get a combo with drink which will round up to about $22+. We got two double original burger for $12 each- toppings are pickles, drop sauce, grilled onions, cheese with double smashed meat on a soft bun like... I'm not sure if any of you have ever watched the show 'How I met your Mother' where Marshall was scouring the city looking for the best burger spot and had that burger orgasmic feeling... Well my partner had that feeling and a bit of a burger coma deeming this one fit to be tied to the top tier comparing to Holy Chuck's. We also enjoyed the curly fries as well, although we got more broken pieces than actual curly fries, but I think we feel Arby's curly fries is still better and cheaper too. Overall, this is a great burger spot, although a bit of a drive out of the way for us, but if we're ever in the area, we'd definitely consider getting some to bring back. The real star should of been the burger but it was actually the crinkled fries. They were crisp, fluffy and the seasoning brought it home. The burger while fresh and also very good fell a little short from all the hype. A touch greasy and no real wow factor.
