I ordered a cheeseburger with no pickles and added their detour sauce, their frix, and a coke. Overall I would say this place was pretty good! Definitely left me hanging a little bit but there were great highlights! The burger had the softest, sweetest buns which were so good, but it didn't really taste like I was eating a burger. Didn't taste the sauce or any char on the patty. It was also pretty messy with the shredded lettuce. The frix were pretty great! It's their mixture of shoestring fries, crinkle cut fries, and waffles fries. The potatoes here are so good! I think my fave was the waffle fry! I grabbed a side of ranch and detour sauce and they both fell flat. Added nothing to the bite of fry. Their detour sauce tasted like a mix of mayo and ketchup, not at all like Cane's sauce or Animal sauce like I've heard. Ranch was disappointing for a burger place so I'll stick with Runza. Went through the drive thru around 6pm and it was super quick which was unexpected. Only issue was they gave me the wrong drink, but that was totally minor! If I return, I would want to try their onion rings, other sauces, and a malt or shake. Not sure if I would go back for a burger though.

I was super excited for a new, local burger place to open near me and Burger Detour did not disappoint! Their menu is simple: Burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken bites, traditional sides, and shakes. For opening day, the service went quick and the drive thru was fast. It's a smaller interior seating area, and two lanes for drive thru, but they also have a nice patio area with heaters and tv to watch when the weather gets warmer. The food itself was excellent! The chicken sandwich was lightly breaded and crispy, cooked to perfection. The special sauce I'd compare to Raising Canes which was delicious. They also offer a fry combo "Frix" which includes shoestring, crinkle and waffle fries. I definitely preferred the waffle fries. This will absolutely become one of my go to fast food stops now that it's open given its fresh flavors and addictive sauce!

I liked this place, I reminded me of a cross between 5 guys and a good bar burger. First off, the place was immaculately clean, and the people working there were extremely nice. I ordered a double cheeseburger with their sauce on it, and my wife had the fired chicken nuggets, and we both had fries, which, by the way are awesome. They mix regular, crinkle, and waffle fries and give you a huge portion. The burger was good, the sauce was nothing special, but didn't hurt the taste by any means, I would definitely order it again. It was expensive, like 5 guys level, but the portions were big and it's 2024, so everything is expensive, right? I would go back and get the same thing, or the chicken nuggets, which were also good. You could probably save money by splitting an order of fries, one order is definitely enough for two

As it was our first time going, it was simple to find and in easier accessible location. The drive-thru was a quick process. The staff were pleasant and knowledgeable. I'd say the prices were competitive to other local burger joints. We were pleased with our order as we tried the different fry options. The burgers were thick and dense. Definitely meant to fill you up!

This was a one and done for us. The burgers were fine, but the taste was just not there. I added my own pickles at home, and it made it a little better. The frix were good, but a little cold. The best part of the meal was the perfectly carbonated root beer.

This place is designed mostly for drive-thru. There are two lanes. Indoor seating is somewhat limited. There is outdoor seating too. In fact, they have outdoor heaters which made it comfortable on the mild winter day that we first visited. As for the food-- we were very satisfied. The burgers are thick, the toppings are just right. Spot on. The serving of fries as a trio is cute, clever, and fun though a little bit overcooked. Straight fries, crinkle fries, and waffle fries! The chocolate malt was satisfying, not amazing. It was very thick, almost too thick if that's possible. Despite a few kinks, I'm giving it 5 stars since it is an original concept for Omaha and the launch was pretty solid.

Okay, so this restaurant literally just opened today, 10:30 a.m. and I'm writing this review at 11:30. Honestly, burgers are my favorite type of food, so as soon as this restaurant opened I knew I would be there on opening day. And yesterday they sent an email that today was today so here I am. The restaurant itself, as well as all the food packaging, is very old fashioned and low key. Exterior is a black building with yellow arrows and very plain. It's fitting because the food is the real highlight. Plain white fry bags and brown wrapping for the burgers. I'm not sure if this would be traded for branded packaging later, but I liked old school feel. Although I wanted to try multiple things on the menu, I just wasn't super hungry today so I figured I would try their main item. I got the double cheeseburger, with Frix and a drink, and some of their detour sauce. The burger itself was meaty, nice and juicy, and very tasty. It had good flavor, and was really the main focus of the sandwich, it wasn't overpowered by his seasoning or by toppings. The one was soft but held all the weight of the double cheeseburger and toppings without any give. The burgers come with ketchup, lettuce, diced onions, and pickles. The toppings were all fresh and the pickles were nice and crispy. The fries were crispy as well, just the right amount of saltiness, and also very pleasing. At burger detour, the combos come with Frix, which is a mix of shoestring, crinkle, and waffle fries. All of them were cooked perfection, and I got a good mix of all three in my bag. The detour sauce is similar to other similar sauces. I can't really say that it was any better but it definitely complemented the fries and the burger both very well. Lastly, I'll point out this might have been the smoothest grand opening I've been to in a long time, if ever. In fact, I didn't know it was grand opening day, I don't think I could have determined it from my visit. Oftentimes, these are quite disorganized. But burger detour had a short line, employees moving through the lines quickly, but also smiling and providing great customer service. It took me about 2 to 3 minutes to have my order taken, and another three minutes or less actually received my food. Very quick service and I hope that this continues because I will be back many times in the future.

I read past Yelp reviews on Burger Detour before making up my mind to finally visit here. While looking over the menu, the chili was a selected side dish to the cheeseburger. As past Yelpers claimed, the cheeseburger was 'okay' and didn't deliver a flavor punch to the taste buds. However, the chili actually did. I did add a spoonful of sour cream and sprinkled the shredded cheese. There is a slight bite to the mixture which was pleasing to the taste buds. The criss cross fries were also very good. They are very generous with the serving size. Overall, the cheeseburger didn't win me over but definitely the chili did. I don't know if I would be a frequent patron but it does provide a choice besides the other fast food places.

Good customer service is very rare nowadays, but Diane made sure we had an awesome experience. She was pleasant and nice to us, she is also very hard working, plus the food is really good! We will definitely go back! Kudos to Diane!

It's a very old school, western, and rustic type of vibe. There's a sense of rugged individualism, resilience, and Western identity. Cowboys are a big part of the theme here, hence the brand name, The Drover. Various murals of impersonations of these vaqueros plaster the walls. The lounge area gives off old mafia movie feels, as you can picture how it could be filled with clouds of cigar smoke as mafioso Capos & soldiers belly-up to the dark bar sipping on their Scotch. Once the drinks start flowing and you get relaxed then the magic starts! You won't be disappointed in the Old Fashioned, or any other type of cocktail for that matter. The fresh baked bread comes out first with a significant portion of spread butter, which is absolutely delicious! Then you realize, that this place actually still has an old school salad bar. Like as soon as I seen the salad bar with all the fixings and the homemade Thousand Island dressing, I was hooked! Finding an open buffet style salad bar these days is as rare as finding a good woman who cooks and cleans. They're like unicorns. The Drover has several cuts of meat to select from. You honestly can't go wrong with the cut that you choose. They have seafood selections as well, just in case you want to get your Surf 'N Turf on. There's one thing that you can definitely say about this place, and that's the fact that it's a no-frills type of joint. They don't waste any time with any fluff. It's strictly meat & potatoes...literally. You won't find any bartenders here doing stupid bottle tricks and begging for clicks like they do out in Vegas. Instead you'll find Tony, who just keeps the glasses full with the concoctions that you wish to imbibe on. One of the female bartenders would fit right in at home in NYC as she drops an F-bomb or two. But, I'm no Karen, so I welcome the realness. She stated, "it's so fucking hot in here", as the bar fills up and the workers get slammed! Now onto the main course: I went with the 8oz Filet and the loaded baked potato. It was delicious! Simple, tasty, and loaded with flavor. They're famous for their secret "whiskey marinade" recipe. The baked potato comes out still wrapped in its foil, which will bring back memories of when your dad would cook them on an open flame charcoal grill. Did I mention the butter? I think I ate enough butter to kill a baby cow! And, I still couldn't get enough. Overall, this place is the epitome of Midwest Steakhouses. It gets right to the point and its customers will appreciate that! One guest told the bartender that he's not from Omaha, but every time he comes into town he comes directly to The Drover to eat dinner. He stated, "I've been coming here for 28 years". Later adding, "except for the years it was burnt down". Another female bartender quickly corrected him, "it was only shutdown for 9 months". Well, when your favorite restaurant is closed for any amount of time, "it felt like years", I added, as we all got a good laugh. As one old timer who came to sit at the bar said, "this is our favorite place". Well...old cowboy, I can see why. And, just like any Old Western movie, The Drover packs a serious punch. Pro tip: they open for dinner at 5:00pm, so get here early, unless you have Reservations of course. I got there at 4:55pm, no reservation, sat at the open bar, which is first come first serve and by 5:40 the place was packed! And, this was on a Wednesday.

I'm sure everything on the menu is good, but we came here for wings and boy did they deliver. The house brined wings are Fantastic. We did the extra hot bubba, which is their extra hot sauce fried then grilled In garlic Parmesan, which was so juicy and flavorful and kicked the heat to a perfect amount where it was flavorful but not overbearing. We also did the cactus ranch, which is the medium hot sauce tossed with cactus ranch seasoning, also tried it grilled. Another solid selection that provided a nice amount of heat and flavor. Both were so amazing I can't even say which one I liked more or which one was hotter. The wings are huge, juicy, and came out well-sauced. I filled up after five of mine (my husband tackled them all) and took the rest home. I don't know how to say best wings in Omaha, since I don't live there and haven't tried enough places, but these were some of the best wings we have EVER had, period. And we get wings almost everywhere we go. Also---the hand-cut (you heard me) fries aren't to be passed up on. We tried with the garlic aoili, so good, and a huge basket for $6. Our server was great. They are always busy, so give them some grace. We came during late lunch, got lucky and got seated right away, and it was still a revolving door of people, tables don't sit empty for long. They don't take reservations, and I understand why. They have limited space and when full, you sign up on the Board, there is a bar next door you can also receive a buzzer and go have a few drinks while you wait. This place is definitely worth the wait and we will repeatedly be back when we make it up to Omaha.

I noticed a lot of newer eateries and businesses in Aksarben since the last time I was there, so hopefully some of them stick around a while. Anyhoo, on to Crispy Burger! First off, the interior is bright and colorful, with a lot of orange, red, and then an accent wall of black and white geometric shapes. It's a super welcoming vibe! One thing that's kind of weird is that the building (and Yelp and Google) says Crispy Chicken, but all the wrappers and signs say "Crispy Burger" which was confusing. The smells inside when you walk in make your mouth water, so get ready to over order if it's your first time here (we definitely did!) They have a LOT of fried things, like fried chicken, mozzarella sticks, popcorn chicken, etc. So this definitely is not an every day place if you are looking for health food. We ordered the cheese sticks to start and they were enormous. Definitely shareable between a few people, as each cheese stick is like an appetizer in itself! I ordered the nuggets and fries, and they were really well breaded and pretty large. You can choose from about 1500 sauces for dipping (ok, maybe more like ten, but that's still a lot!) The fries were great too, that come as a side in your box. My husband had the bone in chicken wings combo, and he was very pleased with his choice. Gigantic wings, with fries, a biscuit, and mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. Now is Crispy Burger fine dining or somewhere you'd go on a date night? Definitely not.
