We stopped in here after a quick trip to see Tee Lake, not knowing what to expect. It was mid afternoon so it wasn't busy. As we were all over 21 we sat in the bar area. Our server came right over and took our drink orders. When she was back we ordered lunch and based on a picture I saw here I got the chicken fried steak dinner. We also had a BLT with salad and a French dip. It was all delicious. The CFS was tender and freshly cooked and smothered in white gravy. The BLTs had bacon hanging over the edges and the bread on the French dip was soft and pillowy which is perfect for dipping in au jus. And the fries were as good as they look with huge portion sizes. The staff is always nice and the food is great. It's a small town with newer owners so I see they keep trying new menu items. I was there for St Patrick's day to get the corned beef. It was soooo good. The buttered rye bread was delicious too. For $20 it was a good sized meal so I had to save some for lunch the next day. I'm a local and I've eaten here a bunch of times and never really found anything to complain about. The economy is crappy and things are expensive so if you don't like the prices you can go somewhere else and I'm sure you'll find something to complain about there too. read more

Our server/bar tender got us a pint, then disappeared for 10 minutes. She came back and then we placed our order. She was talking to another customer at the bar. She explained she had customers in the dining room also? After she took our order she was totally MIA. The order was taking at least 45 minutes with zero updates.. We became upset and left because for the volume of people was not that busy. We didn't want to wait an hour for our food. She did not even return to offer another beverage. Absolutely lovely local place with plethora of options! Our son really enjoyed French toast and our younger loved his pasta. What a surprise, as he can be rather picky. I loved the service. Easy in and easy out. Lots of seating and more in the bar area. They even have a points system with your phone number. Ask about it when you get your check! Eventually you can get a free meal :) Food is delicious with so many choices. Portions are great and they give you complimentary chips with their house made sauce! I was really hoping to like this place and the food. The service was great. The food? Not so much. The clan chowder was great. However, I didn't have many clams. It still tasted delicious. The burger and fries came, and I was sorely disappointed in my burger. I asked for pink, and it came out well done and appeared to be a smash burger. The burger wasn't round and didn't fill the bun. It also wasn't seasoned much, and I had to add salt and pepper. The sweet potato fries were good. My husband was happy with his burger and fries. I do like how they start with house made chips. Stopped in for lunch while driving through Belfair today. The Burger Claim was easy to find. It is right off the main highway. It has a fun 'gold miner" theme with comfy seating and a nice atmosphere. Th menu has breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Both the home cut fries and fresh potato chips were very good. The Miner Sauce that came with the chips was super tasty. My husband had the cod dinner with a baked potato and salad. I had the mushroom swiss burger and fries. Both were quite tasty. WOW!!! Best burger experience I've had in a while. I've been wanting to check this place out for some time and Super glad I finally did. The wifey went inside and ordered so keeping it simple I had her get a cheese burger and fries. My gosh! fries are unmatched anywhere, crispy/tasty, even the next day warming leftover chicken & fries. The burger was just as I would make one if I had all the fresh trimmings for it & they have all the trimmings, a good sized burger - not undersized bun or patty, in fact I'd guess the beef was half or two thirds of a pound as it was awesome. A perfect burger build, wifey got the chicken strips & fries and that was also super satisfying. She says they have beer too so I'll be back soon.. I have been here multiple times and the one thing I have not had, is a burger. They have my favorite pancakes, they must fry them or something cause they are just a little crispy on the edges. I had their biscuits and gravy which was a descent attempt.... It wasn't great but I don't knock people for their B&G, because inevitably mine is better at home. Their Santa Fe salad is fire. Driven by it many times looking to purchase homes in Belfair (we live in Silverdale) and it always looked interesting. We were in the area for an event and decided to stop by for dinner. We arrived to a somewhat quiet restaurant (around 5PM) and it was super clean. The staff was attentive and quick to seat us, as well as take our orders. I ordered a peanut butter and bacon cheeseburger (never had one, I was interested), my kids had typical kids meals and my wife had the shrimp avocado salad (I think that's what it was called). When I tell you everything was delicious, I'm not kidding. Swift, too. After we were done and satisfied, our waitress asked us if we wanted to join their rewards program (totally free) and we did, our meal this evening went towards their points. Let's not forget the fact that they do an active duty military discount! They were awesome. It's pricey for what you get. My California Burger with onion rings was 22$. We also ordered kids fettuccine alfredo, kids chicken burger w/ fries and quesadilla. Of all the things, California burger was rather good but the other items were really poorly made. Fries were salty. Fettuccine Alfredo was overflowing with sauce. Onions rings were greasy and soggy. Restaurant is big and clean, and staff was good. We ordered everything at one time and our food was delivered together as well. Given some of the items and not a super busy time (4:30pm), I am sure they could have brought items as they came off. Given the price point, and no lack of fast food places nearby (McDonald's is right in front), management ought to look into focusing on quality checking the items. Wait staff should be looking at what they are serving and correcting the items before it hits the table. I am sure that with the right preparation the food could have been real good. read more

My second trip here. I came back this time for a plate of sweet potato fries with their excellent homemaid fry sauce. It was just as good as my first visit. So good!! Six of us came here for lunch after sitting and waiting at another restaurant in Belfair for over half an hour and literally only got our drink order taken. We were greeted at Burger Claim the second we walked in, had our drink AND food orders taken within minutes, and had four huge burgers, a chicken fried steak meal, and wings at our table in under 20 minutes of being in the restaurant. I made a mistake when I read the menu and ordered the Shaft Cheese Burger & Fries, don't get me wrong the burger was delicious and the fries were fresh cut and cooked properly, it was I missed the SIZE of the Burger, One Whole Pound of Ground Chuck in 4 thick Pattie's dripping in fresh hot cheddar cheese with tomato, pickles & onions (I hate lettuce on a sandwich, it's a salad item not a sandwich item). Today was our first visit at the Belfair Burger claim restaurant and we will not be returning. Upon arriving to the restaurant we were served cold, oil soaked chips with some sort of dipping sauce. The entire thing was awful and each of us took one bite and decided no more. We then hoped for the best and placed our orders. We viewed their menu online so we were quick to order. We had both decided on Cobb salads, and the chicken with a special order of steamed vegetables for our toddler. As a side to the salads we decided to purchase their loaded french fries and give them a try. Upon receiving our food we took one look and we're extremely disappointed. My friend's salad had only four pieces of chicken on it while mine had a very large amount. Online it claims that the salad was filled with so many items but our salad had only two slices of avocado each and minimal toppings. Our fries were served to us cold and were very disappointing. We actually sent them back and just decided not to re-order. My daughters steamed vegetables were still very hard and crunchy and her chicken was seasoned so strongly that she said it was too spicy to eat. I would also like to mention that their kids menu does not include a beverage. When we received our bill we were surprised to find that we paid $3.99 for half a cup of apple juice. During our stay at the restaurant there was a waiter who shouted out "fine I'll just quit" and another that said they were over staffed so he would be placing his section with another person. Honestly our whole experience was poor and we will not be returning. We are headed to great Wolf Lodge in October and are extremely excited to try that Burger claim over there. read more

I noticed the Burger Claim had recently opened in the old Jimmy D's and gave them a chance. Monday night, 4 servers and about 20% of capacity at 7:30 PM. The restaurant reminded me of the Fuddruckers chain from Texas, but only in the mildest of ways. They have a selection of adult beverages and attempt to use fresh ingredients, but the final product is still just a hamburger. I ordered (sorry I forgot to photograph the menu) the ($10.99) basic house burger, the Mrs. had ($8.99) Clam Chowder and we both had ($2.99) ice tea. Food came out promptly in about 10 minutes, but was nothing remotely special. Observations and Evaluation: Overall, the place seemed clean, but I only saw from the Hostess Station to our table. It was not overly noisy and things appeared to be CHAOS free. The dining room is on one side of the kitchen and the bar area on the other, so a noisy ruckus there won't totally ruin the meal for folks in the dining room. Food servers are using IPads to enter their orders. I'm sure somebody believes this streamlines the order/accounting process, but it diverts attention greatly from your GUESTS and is just plain BAD FORM...Might just as well have the servers sit around and TEXT the orders in...not personal at all. At the end of it all, our quick dinner out was $26.00+tax/tip, for a hamburger, clam chowder and ice tea for 2. Sorry folks, this is Belfair, not Seattle but good luck anyway. read more
