Starting off with chips and salsa plus a bucket of Modelo can never be a bad thing and then comes out this gorgeous burger ... the American Prime - cooked to a perfect medium rare with a bun that can handle all of its juicy perfection - the mushrooms, truffle, onion and cheese just melted so harmoniously. Awful service. "Forgot" and order. Did not respect allergy request and included allergens even after a burger was sent back for being served on a bun (gluten) they just removed the bun and brought it back out moments later, putting the gguest at risk without any warning. Awful. They should go out of business. The restaurant was pretty empty, and somehow it took over an hour to get 5 burgers, some of which looked sat upon. read more

DO NOT GO! What happened to the Burger Bar? Arrived at 6:25 to an empty restaurant- just one other table. There were 5 of us and we ordered 2 cheese burgers, one Bun Jovi, one Jucy Lucy on a gluten free bun (due to a confirmed allergy to the waitress ) and a buffalo chicken wrap. We ordered at 6:35. The waitress came back to tell us there were no gluten free buns so my husband ordered the burger without a bun. At 7:10, the buffalo chicken wrap and the Bun Jovi came out. At 7:15, my husband's burger came out on a bun to which he reminded the waitress he's allergic and can't have a bun due to an allergy. She apologized, took it back to the kitchen and arrived with the same burger without a bun 1 min later. We explained how he still can't eat it and we cancelled his order. At 7:20 one of the cheeseburgers came out. At 7:25 we asked about the 2nd cheeseburger and the waitress went back to the kitchen and returned to tell us the chef forgot. At 7:30, the final cheeseburger arrived, flat, smushed, on a weird bun and under-cooked looking. The food arriving all separately meant everyone basically ate alone, the allergy burger meant my husband didn't eat, my son who got his cheeseburger said it wasn't very good and my cheeseburger, the last to arrive, was smushed and under-cooked, completely inedible. We asked the waitress what was going on several times, and while polite, she said several times it was her 1st day and she didn't know. We asked for a manager and were told there wasn't one there. A 'customer' at the bar said he'd tell the manager for us. WTH? It was really an awful experience. We paid for the 3 meals that did come but in retrospect we should have just walked out. We were 1 of 2 tables when we arrived and the only table after about 20 minutes and still had a horrible experience. It took an hour for my uncooked burger to come out when we were the only people there! Do not go. You can get a burger anywhere on Washington Street. Just do not go. One of the best turkey cheeseburgers I've ever had...With truffle oil added. Huge burger, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Unfortunately they ran out of bison. So we also ordered the lamb burger-- it wasn't bad, but it wasn't as flavorful or juicy as my favorite lamb burger place. Too much white/iceburg lettuce on top. Sweet potato fries are few bucks extra-- they were good, but not great. Chicken tacos - they sure are generous with the chicken amount, unlike other places. They were good, but dry and needed more flavor -- if they add a creamy white sauce they would be so much better. Incredible looking and tasting chocolate milks in tall glasses for the kids! I come here almost every other week and have had a fantastic experience every single time. The front and kitchen staff are polite, friendly, professional, and attentive. They have a Costa Rican-inspired tapas menu, and the food is absolutely delicious. They have a nice selection of beers on draft and bottles along with good cocktails. I like the jazzy ambiance but it also has a sports bar vibe as well. They have DJ, dancing, and comedy nights sometimes. They have 4 big screen TVs showing UFC fights and other sports. We arrived at 5:53 for a 6 PM reservation, not that we needed one. Despite only one four top occupied and a couple of people seated at a small bar, we weren't greeted for a full two minutes upon walking in. After being seated and shown our menus, we were pleasantly taken aback by the decor, which was a homey blend of a rural sports bar and a hip evening spot for young couples. The plant fixtures and color palette of the walls and tables were actually quite pleasing to the eye. However, absurdly there were three young waitresses, who for a good 70% of the time, were behind the bar at the same time, and sporadically checked tables, but the diners seemed much like an afterthought compared to the patrons at the bar. Perhaps the name "Burger Bar" should have dropped the first word from the name. We ordered appetizers and entrees after about 12 minutes seated, and the waitress taking our order kindly let us know that there was a Happy Hour menu with one of the items we ordered, which saved us over 50% on that selection, which was very courteous! The speed of both courses was incredibly fast, but notably, the entrees arrived before we were finished with our apps, and not once were we checked on by our waitress once we had been served. I would have loved to get some straws since every other patron with drinks had straws except for us. Our Steak Empanadas (2 per serving = $5, along with a light avocado, onion, and cilantro garnish) and Mac and Cheese Bites (2 per order = $13) arrived. Our empanadas had a nicely flavored interior and exterior pastry but were overcooked and dry. The sauce, supposedly a creamy chipotle dipping sauce was hideously bland. The mac and cheese bites were perfectly fried, crisp, and flavorful, though slightly underseasoned and just short of being adequately heated in the center, though the creamy sauce these were served with was delicious with an incredible kick. Definitely the winner between the two appetizers. Our entrees arrived. I ordered the American Prime Burger ("8oz prime beef burger, American cheese, mushrooms, onions, and truffle oil," $17), medium, while my wife ordered the BunJovi Burger ("Ground beef, bacon, local fried egg, coleslaw, pesto, provolone cheese," $18), medium as well. Both came cooked medium well but had patties that were seasoned quite nicely and much more richly flavored than many small burger joints we've been to. My Prime Burger, despite being slightly overcooked was juicy, and moist, and the onions and mushrooms were nicely sauteed, despite the ratio being somewhat off compared to the heaping of lettuce on the burger, and without a hint of truffle aroma to be found. My wife's BunJovi had the same delicious strengths in the seasoning and juiciness of the meat, though her coleslaw was overpoweringly sweet, and the pesto, dabbed in the center instead of distributed evenly, lacked the signature saltiness that's expected with such an iconic sauce. Both burgers also came with mediocre fries that tasted more of cardboard than potato, and the same bland chipotle sauce that came with the empanadas. Overall as far as burger places go, the trendy ambiance and aesthetic of the restaurant itself were hampered by the confused service (I am still not sure which of the three servers is getting my tip, as all three served different functions through our meal), and anemic bland garnishes, though the flavor and juiciness of the beef patties will be remembered as high points for a good while. read more

We had the wings with the Buffalo sauce on the side. So good because the wings were crusty crispy delicious without and with the sauce. Go for happy hour. Taco appetizers also good--nicely plump with tasty sauces. The bartenders lavish you with attention and friendliness accompanied with the all important good service. Right? They go together! Decent prices too for appetizers and drinks during happy hours (so far our only visits were then). read more

Loved this place at its other location around the corner. Not sure what happened. Been there 2x at the Washington st location. First time was ok, second was bad and won't be going back. Beer was not very cold. It was warm out but wondered if the used warm glasses they definitely were not cold. We ordered 2 entrees and tv eh bought my husbands out by it self. The guy clearly thought it was an app to share as he tried to put it in the middle and gave us 2 plates. He was not the one who took the order. It was at least 20 TWENTY minutes before my entree came out while my kind husband waited before he began to eat. My order had French fries and a burger and never was I offered any condiments. Had to get up and ask a second time for more water. A shame. I could hear our server/bartender chatting up the 2 men at the bar. Bad experience a shame. Too many other places to go read more

Um, no. I would not eat there again. The food was awful. We would not have minded the somewhat long wait for the food (even though it wasn't very busy), if the food was tasty... it wasn't. My crab cake sandwich was burnt with old avocado slices that had big brown spots/holes. It had a fishy taste but not in a good way. I regret not sending it back but did leave most of it on the plate. The sweet potato fries were bland and needed a shake of salt after coming out of the fryer. My husband said his Prime Burger was not good at all and we left very disappointed. Came to see my friend play live music here. Drinks were okay a bit pricey for the size. Staff did there best to keep up. However, come to find out they violated their contract with the live musician ( my friend ) and terminated his employment with them without notice causing him to lose wages. The approach to the situation by the owners has been completely unprofessional. Also had a friend who worked they saying they were never paid correctly. Doesn't seem like a very friendly or honest place of business so i would rather take my momey elsewhere. Wouldn't reccommend going to a place that can't pay their talent or employees. read more

The burgers are spectacular, fat and so delicious! The bartenders were delightful and had great conversation along with providing great service. The ambiance walking in was super fun and casual, all of the games were on the TVs and the music wasn't too loud and very good!! Highly recommend to everyone in the area! read more
