When I was in the mood for a burger and fries, Yelp was my go-to website. I love that the sandwiches are cooked to order, well worth the wait. The fresh-cut fries were awesome; glutinous girl here! Although other Yelpers rave about the Wagyu burger I stuck with good old Angus. No regrets! Ketchup and BBQ sauce are extra, but all add-ons are clearly posted on the menu board; no complaints about that. Looking forward to grabbing another burger and fries the next time I find myself in Amsterdam! read more

Any time I'm in Amsterdam, I hit this place up. The burgers are good, but really it doesn't matter what kind of meat you get (so go cheap). But the frites, that's where it's at. And the truffled sauce- so so so damn good! Price is right, food comes quick, and it tastes good? Burger Bar is a spot not to miss! read more

Tried 270 angus burger with Amsterdam cheese with fries. The burger was good, but I liked the fries more.

Hubby and I shared a burger with goat cheese! Pretty good. The burger with a drink came to about $20 or so so pretty pricey but it is Europe! read more

Adorable little bar with outdoor tables and burgers on tap, made right in front of you. Great selections and good burgers near Central.

This place is great. I've been to Amsterdam a couple times and the food can be suspect at times. The burger bar offers quality food with fresh ingredients. The staff is friendly and it's open until around 3am. I would def recommend for a good burger read more

Ate here when visiting with my parents and I had read such great things but left a bit underwhelmed. While the toppings were great, I asked for it medium and it was raw inside. I hate to send things back but just couldn't eat it. They said that is how the medium comes, so keep that in mind. I was also slightly dissappointed with the chips, they were a bit cold and just not what I was expecting in comparison to some of the amazing frites we had eaten while there. I have to give them major credit though, they were so nice about taking my burger back and cooking it and also bringing back hot chips for us. There is a great selection of toppings and henekin is on tap. Overall, It was not a write off and would probably try again. read more

I don't recommend this place at all. There were parts of the burger that were medium others well done, wasn't cooked evenly. They do not have servers here you pick what you want and go up an order it then they give you a pager (which they forgot to give us). They charge for every single condiment like ketchup, mustards etc, we got charged for a side of ketchup for our fries. I haven't tasted a burger that was so bland yet with so many toppings it was very weird, it had some mayo, cheese, fried onion pieces and large red peppers all of which didn't taste like anything. Also there's crows flying all around you pooping read more

Their burgers are the best! The one guy working the grill is amazing. Tons of tickets with custom burgers, and he's like a well oiled machine read more

It must be something about European meat, but this burger is simply amazing. We had an opportunity to chat with the owner who takes a lot of pride in the product he offers. Also, the accompaniments (sauces, toppings, etc) are always fresh and there is such a wide variety. And the chips (fried) are awesome. It was a bit far from our hotel, but we managed to eat there 3x during our week stay in the Dam. Just booked a return trip for this year and can't wait to belly up to the Bar again! read more

Surprisingly delicious. Because of the area I thought it would be a greasy stoner burger spot but was pleasantly surprised that it was actually quite a delicious borderline-gourmet burger spot. Got mine with avocado and goat cheese. The meat blend is amazing and they make the burgers right in front of you and even weigh them on the scale where you can see the exact weight. The burger sizes are quite large but they are very very good. I can't believe I passed this place so many times without going in. read more

Open late ( thankfully ) decent prices and quality food for what it is. This has been my go to late night place so far after 10pm. They will do a burger without bun - add an egg, avocado, and bacon and you have yourself a delicious paleo treat. read more

Burger Bar is everything that's good and right in the world. Meticulously prepared. It's usually a 10 minute wait to get everything cooked up but it's SO worth it. Fries are a must add on. You won't regret it! read more

Yes, I really need an American Burger and Fries. They did a great job! Burger Bar is spot on!

I got a Wagyu beef hamburger with goat cheese. Most expensive burger I"ve ever had, best tasting burger I've ever had. They have 4 different grades of beef. They are open really late. read more

You choose the type of beef (Irish, Black Angus, Wagyu, Chicken and for the Veggies, Portobello) and weight (200g or 270g). You then watch them form your patty and weigh it right in front of you. The one thing that is consistent and accurate in all the reviews of the Burger Bar is the wait; but good things, no, GREAT things come to those who wait! I went during an off time, around 2pm, so I only waited about 10 min. You can also select from 9 different toppings including a fried egg! My only disappointment was the fries. They were okay, but I definitely had better during my trip. Go for the burger and skip the fries, espcially if you're on a budget, a 200g Irish Beef burger (which was huge) cheddar cheese & mushrooms for toppings and fries w/ ketchup (just couldn't do any more mayo) cost close to €10. read more

I ordered a 200 gram Angus beef burger with grilled onions and mushrooms and cheddar cheese. Bomb. It was juicy and delicious, without being overly greasy, and cost about 8 euro. A bit pricey for a burger, but I was stuffed afterwards. I shared an order of fries with a friend, and with the burger, it was more than enough. The fries were really hot and fresh, slightly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Amazing. The place is really small, so seating is really tricky, but it's in a prime area with lots of shopping and things to see/do. I really like that they just serve burgers here - it really is just a burger bar. read more

The burgers are of good quality and the fries are freshly made of patatos, there is not much room to sit and eat so if you are with multiple people it might not be the best place to grab abd sit down. read more

Favorite late night (anytime) stop! The meat is exceptional, the frites are delish, and I love the varying burger toppings. The line is usually out the door, but it's worth the wait. I hesitate to say it's the best burger I've ever had only because I'm an American and it seems wrong to say it, but ... alright best burger ever! read more

As an American who has been to 5 Guys & In & Out Burger this place blows them away. If they come to the USA they will kill the competition. Burgers are huge Fries are huge Price is cheap. The place ROCKS¡!!!!!! read more

Amazing burgers! Reasonable prices. Good atmosphere inside restaurante and very clean. Next time I visit Amsterdam and want a burger, this is it! read more

Probably the best fries we had on our visit to Amsterdam. The burger was good, but it wasn't cooked rare as ordered (medium). The staff are very friendly, but the customers were a little cranky about having to wait in line, and it gets very tight in there on the weekends. read more

I became mildly obsessed with this place while on a 10 day vacation to Amsterdam. We were staying in a hotel on the same street and had to walk by it to get to most places we were going...and finally I had to give in. I am so glad I did!! This place has tasty made to order burgers that rival the great burger places in the US, including In n' Out and Five Guys. There are a few locations in Amsterdam and I would highly recommend you give it a try! read more

I'm in love with this place. I think it is perhaps one of the best burger places I've ever been to. Since I'm American, I think that says alot. It might be a tie between this place and shake shack. Not only are the burgers delicious but so Are the fries. I love the simple concept of choosing what I want for meat, bun, toppings and sauces.. Made to order. Can't wait to go back. read more

Fast, fresh, and delicious! We ordered an Irish burger and a Kobe burger with one small fries. It was more than enough for the two of us! The burgers were cooked perfectly medium. The fries were crispy. I asked for extra pickles and there were many. Cost was reasonable as well. read more

I remember enjoying the burger but it was pretty unmemorable so I guess it was average. Good portion sizes though for the price. It took a little while. I would come here again if I was hungry in that area which is mainly full of fast food chains. I personally think Burgermeester is the best burger is Amsterdam though. read more

My dad and brother say these are the best burgers they've had in a LONG time and they are serious about their burgers. Not sure if it's due to their recreational activities in Amsterdam or the truly exceptional ingredients, but we had some very happy boys at our house. read more

I miss burger bar :( I'm a burger connoisseur, and this is one of the best in the world. I'm hoping they come to America. Get the wagyu with bacon, egg, and cheddar. read more

Fantastic burgers located in an awesome little alley behind our hotel. In this alley way you will find all types of little restaurants (turkish, Indian, dutch, etc) as well as little bars and coffee shops. I got the wygu burger and my wife got the black angus. AMAZING. rivals the best burgers in the states. I would eat here every night, if I did not want to try out some of the other offerings. Side note: very limited seating and it gets packed. We took our food and went back to our hotel read more

It's a tiny little joint with only enough room for about a dozen people shoulder to shoulder, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in flavor. Delicious, fresh burgers made from a variety of meats, topped with fresh veggies. Enjoy! read more

Lovely burgers. Even the cheapest meat is fantastic. Love the way you can choose from ingredients. That being said, the cheapest meat is still not cheap. read more

Good juicy burger cooked medium rare. Fries were good. Add a large Heineken and it will cost you 15 euros. Worth putting on your list of places to eat in Amsterdam. read more

The place was super busy and packed with many to go orders being prepared and a number of folks waiting to dine in. Despite the pace, the cashier/fry cook was friendly and pleasant. Took a while for my order to be made with everything in front but the wait was worth it. Quite possibly the best burger I've ever had, and the Belgian fries were great. Now I know the difference between Belgian and French fries! Belgian are fried twice and are not crispy - they're crunchy! Great meal. The only drawback is that this location is tiny and it was standing room only at the entrance when the few seats at the bar and the mini tables along the wall were taken. It was tight but I thought that added to the experience. Fantastic meal to power you through Amsterdam. read more

preparation// walk-in with your appetite and order at the counter ambiance//*** very chill laid-back table & benches where everyone hangs out and eat as if you were on a picnic and they were very considerate to install a faucet for you to wash your hands after a messy but satisfying meal food//**** :note: i'm a carnivore, so typical burgers are snack size but Burger Bar's portions make me a HAPPY CAMPER they're SO HUGE you NEED utensils to eat it and be all european about it! patties can be customized by weight & type of beef...splurge on the wagyu anyone? i like that you can add toppings like slightly runny fried egg!!^^ we had heard netherlands makes the BEST dips for fries in europe so we were excited HOWEVER, S. and i are from LA where we have a melting pot of cuisines so we were slightly disappointed the #1 seller hoorlog aka. warchips is sorta like animal style from in-n-out (grilled onions and mayo) the #2 seller samurai is mayo + (thai spicy sauce) siracha so unfortunately, the dips weren't groundshaking for us ~*~ it's pricey, it's meaty, it's worth a try, especially if you're a carnivore like me ;p read more

Love Burger Bar on a Sunday afternoon while wandering down Amsterdam! They have plenty of choices in size, toppings etc and they make it on the spot. Prefer this much more than the overrated Burgermeester. Burger Bar is just a good old burger place where you can satisfy your cravings! Love it! read more

Juicy, medium burgers made pretty quickly and good fries. They have a kids burger that is not much smaller than their normal burger but half the price. read more

This place has some really good burgers. The best I have tried in all of Amsterdam. We ordered the irish beef and it was good enough for the price. They are open very very late so it's great for a stop by after the club. Service is also a plus! read more

I did not try the burger but I did try the Dutch French fries. The consistency is different from the American French fries I am used to. More thicker and starchier if that makes any sense. read more

One of my favorite places to eat in Amsterdam. I love the make it your way concept. And the food is always very fresh. They have 3 choices of beef and chicken. I am all about the burgers and I love the Angus burger myself with bacon and cheddar cheese. I have had the goat cheese also it is also tasty. The fries are great. Fresh cut and cooked right there. you can get your choice of toppings. Only knock is they don't have shakes. But that said. You will be pretty full when you leave. Prices are reasonable and staff are usually very nice. read more

Really nice Burger Place. You can choose your bread, they have 4 different types of cheese and various toppings to choose from. After ordering you get a number and have to wait while they prepare your food. The burger beef is really nice medium done and not too dry. The bun is my personal highlight. It's crispy and heated up. As a side I had Fries with some mayonnaise. They were good Sewell, they're handmade as far as I know. All in all good place, atmosphere is more like an Imbiss not like a restaurant. There's loud music playing and the door is open all the time, some may like that some won't. read more
