We have used Camarillo Interiors for several projects throughout different homes/properties and Brandon always comes through w/ great advice, very competitive pricing and most importantly, phenomenal work! The crew are always a pleasure to interact with as they carry upbeat attitudes and give off a very positive vibe - something that is paramount when it comes to trusting people to come in your home/personal space and work for hours on end! They have done carpet for us several times and we've found the materials they use to be very good (lots of options to choose from), and most recently we had them do hardwood downstairs in our home. We've got a step down living room w/ a tremendously long ledge. Brandon custom made the kick board piece to be as long as possible so we wouldn't have some Frankenstein-looking step and stained it perfectly to match the rest of the floors! We always get compliments on the floors so that is a testament to the quality of work that this company produces. He has also come by on occasions to do some repairs on carpet areas that we're pre-existing when we bought the house and the transitions are seamless where he made the repair. Saul and his cousin Q worked very efficiently together and finished the job in 1.5 days, which meant our project was ahead of schedule. Here were the issues: 1) Took multiple cash advances ($$$$) and never completely finished the work. We are yet to hear back from him. He has taken our money and disappeared for good. 2) On many occasions the money he took from us, he never paid the subcontractors who subsequently filed liens on our property. We had to overpay time and time again and bail him out! This is not how you run an honest business. 3) Fake promises: We confronted him multiple times to get the work done, gave him opportunity after opportunity to come clean, treated him with respect, and despite all this he NEVER got the work DONE and there were no updates or follow through on timelines and NO COMMUNICATION. Contractors like Jim bring a BAD NAME to the construction industry, it's unfortunate! I WOULD NEVER HIRE HIM AGAIN!! We should have FIRED him a long time ago, instead from the kindness of our hearts we trusted him (SHAME ON US)!!!

This left us many times without the use of rooms in our house for MONTHS instead of something that should have been 2-3 weeks. No privacy, unpredictable timing and the incredible inconvenience. Realizing he continued to have financial issues, we adjusted the projects double paying to cover the cost of work that required subcontractors and took care of materials costs -- but he still never completed the work that he could have done on his own. Now we have to beg him for even a phone call back on the status of remaining projects. I'd think twice about hiring him unless you want to be scammed with a half done project that lasts for years. I wish him well, but will NEVER work with him again.
