If i could take stars away i would!!! This bar discriminates against people with disabilities!!! I was refused service because i have to use a service dog. Believe me...i wish i didnt have to. But because of your discriminative practices you not only broke the law you embarrassed me in front of a bar full of customers. But fret not...the HINGE bar down the street was more than welcoming to me and my trained service dog!!! If you're going past 9 for a party bar scene cool place nice atmosphere. If you're being waited on by the blonde girl, especially outside. Don't expect to get served unless you're a friend of hers. Sat at the bar for an entire hour waiting on one beer. Went to the bathroom two times before getting another. Waving cash, card, sitting just staring, tried it all. Eventually resulted to buying 4 beers for myself at a time to make it make sense. Will never be back read more

Giving 4 stars strictly for the location and music we get to hear, and a pretty good drink selection. However, the young lady bartender there has a serious attitude problem. She would probably make much more in tips if she didn't put off such an aggravated, don't care attitude. One last thing- ownership needs to pay attention to some of the maintenance that needs to be done (cleaning, painting, dusty/dingy in areas you shouldn't have that). read more

Who cares about my review. Nothing was wrong with this place except for the rule at 9 o'clock. Sitting at the bar, watching the Lsu game. Here comes 9 o'clock, I have to vacate my seat. Apparently the place turns into a dance club at exactly 9 o'clock. Would of stayed longer and drank more but was kicked out my seat. Buoys is one of three outdoor bars that feature great bands in a great location on the bay with the train bridge in the background. The food here is food truck style and on this occasion it was bad food. Come for the cheap beer and great music, eat elsewhere. read more

Buoys is so my kind of place. It's got everything I love. A nautical theme, an awesome and effective staff, great food, good music and a greatly great vibe.. I just love how the building is made to look like it's a boat. That's right up my alley for sure but the food...oh the food. We got the buffalo shrimp app and fought over it (not kidding) and the burger and shrimp/fish tacos with the intention to split those too. Look, don't judge me but I wasn't about to share my tacos with anyone once I tasted them. I like the guy but umm, you know. The service is promt, friendly and fast. The bar has unique mixed drinks. However, I'm a simple gal and would prefer the alcohol without all the added sugar/bullspit. If you're like me, pass on the fancy stuff and go straight for the beers on tap. Brisket was amazing--tender and flavorful. Waffle fries were crispy on the outside just like they're supposed to be. Live music on Friday night was amazing, and so was the ocean view. Prices are not too bad especially for the ambiance. I would come back! read more

It's super casual here, BBQ food-truck style on the patio on the side. Big back yard atmosphere down toward the beach. Location, location, location. This beach themed restaurant and bar is located in the heart of downtown Bay St. Louis on the Bay. The main room is located on the ground level with plenty of tables and a full bar. Up the stairs is an open air bar with stunning views of the Bay. Try the Buoy which is a fruity coconut frozen drink concoction. Yum! The menu is mostly sandwiches and fried seafood. I had the jalapeño poppers for an appetizer and they were delicious. The restaurant does have live music on the outdoor stage. Fun, relaxing scenic place. read more

This seems to be the new hot spot in Bay St. Louis and it has the largest space of the bar/restaurants in town along with a great view of the water. They are big fans of the DJ here which doesn't usually do much for me. The best bar crowd was here on my last visit to Bay St. Louis after we did a tour of Blind Tiger, Gabbies and Buoys. I didn't get a chance to eat here but the food options looked good and as a bar it was the clear winner for the night. It looks like they are building a condo or some other type of building uncomfortably close to this place so I don't know how that will impact their late night music and allowable noise levels going forward. Overall I liked this joint and it would probably be one of my top choices in the area for a nice place to grab a drink. read more

Really cool place to hang out. They have live music playing in the courtyard and beautiful views of the bay. I was there for cruisin the coast week so they had a limited menu. At the recommendation of others I had the burger which was very tasty and large enough to share. The Bouy frozen drink is a must try-it's similar to a pina colada but richer and more flavorful and definitely potent. When the train passes they give out shots! Overall I had a great experience and will definitely be back. read more

Here on a bright sunny Sunday, great music great people, BUT only 1 bartender for entire business. 20 minute wait for a drink - I would love to come back but cannot bear the LACK of service. Roger, the owner came later on Sunday and immediately took care of the problem. He then introduced himself to us and explained that his camera/internet connection went down and it has not been repaired as of Sunday. He stated that he routinely monitors it and if the bartender is buried, he calls in additional help. Based on the owners response and up front attitude, we DEFINITELY will RETURN. They had awesome service here both at the bar and the security. It's a fun place where the bartenders give free shots and walks on the bar to pour them into your mouth from the bar tops. They don't mind if you ask for water or soda water with a lime. The music is good and the place fun for dancing. The women's restroom is clean and stocked though a bit tight when a line forms. There are lots of seats inside around the bar and tables and seats inside and outside in the patio. Great spot to drop by after a wedding at the Longfellow Civic Center near by. read more

Location is GREAT!!! Ambience of the bar/restaurant is GREAT! However the bartender upstairs is HORRIBLE. She started not long ago (around her birthday) so we gave her the benefit of the doubt because she was new but she is losing this bar TONS of money. She does not come around to take orders, doesn't check on guests, etc. We watch many patrons come, but don't get acknowledged so they leave. Today, we went to pay our tab and she asked us what we had (we were there for HOURS!!) then once we told her, she didn't charge us for at least 1/2 our drinks! We love this place but she makes it less enjoyable. Hate to see this place lose money because of 1 bartender. Management needs to be more on top of this. read more

Stopped in here once and had a great time when my dad's friend's band, The Castaways played outside. They had a few good beers on tap and it's nice and open inside. I like how the bar looks like the back of a fishing boat. Normally I would have given a bar like this a 4 star rating because it takes a truly exceptional place to earn a full 5 stars from me, but my one experience with this place earned that star because the owner/staff know how to treat customers. A member of our party had a bout with heat exhaustion and fell ill and the owners did everything they could to make her comfortable and saw that she was well. Normally, I guess most places would be concerned with getting an ill person out of the establishment as soon as possible, but not this place. They sat her down and made her comfortable and helped out until she was well enough to walk out on her own and that's good service right there. I like the outdoor area and the little stage they had set up was nice. The bartenders were helpful and didn't gripe or anything when I asked for a sample of a beer I'd never had. They're quick to serve you, too. An over-all nice place for a drink and I'll be stopping here from time to time for sure. read more

THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE RESTAURANT "SMOKIN JOE'S" WHICH SERVES FOOD AT THIS BAR. The food here is completely disgusting. I ordered a brisket sandwich with a side of fried okra. I waited 15 minutes. The brisket was dry & hard like a hockey puck, with no sauce. The slaw garnish was bland & there was hardly any of it on the sandwich. The okra was still frozen when it got to me & I tried to eat it. The two gentlemen in the kitchen were disgusting, not wearing gloves, had their behinds hanging out in the kitchen, wearing greasy smelly shirts with holes in them. I don't think Buoy's should want to be affiliated with this place. I went next door to Tripletail's where there was good food & music in the same venue, not nasty junk that I have to go in & outside to get. read more

New chef now for a couple of months. Rickey's Grill took over. I had a delicious blackened shrimp salad sandwich which I couldn't resist in adding bacon too. Their seasoned fries are perfectly crisp,hot, and yummy as well. Jennifer my bartender was so sweet, friendly, and attentive. We visit the Bay several times a year and always visit Bouys for the food and view. This time we were surprised when we walked in at noon and the place was empty. We ordered a beer and said we wanted to order food. The bartender said that the owner had leased the kitchen out and that we had to order and pay for our food separately from our bar tab. We went outside and placed our order for chicken nachos which were a little over $10.00. They were just OK. If you want drinks I guess Bouys is adequate but forget the food. read more

What a creative bar design! The bar is shaped like a boat crashed into a building. They are currently building an extension. I overheard something about a flying scot. The place isn't cramped at all, and it's located right on the water so you get a pretty view. The prices are much better than most of the nearly bars with similar waterfront properties. I'm a local, in a w/chair. I've never been to Buoy's because I thought it was mostly a bar; then I heard that "Chef" Rickey was there & when my brothers came in for golf today, that's where we met. First, let me say, the service is wonderful & fast. I knew my brothers would be late & my husband had to smoke so I asked our waitress If she could bring me a cup of gumbo & less than 2 minutes later a cup of delicious thick (not too thick) seafood (no okra, thank you Lord) gumbo that left me with a smile on my face. I swear I tasted a hint a crab boil. Man it was good. All four of us had the same thing, a shrimp poboy. It's the best in the Bay, I'm telling you for true. They don't use french bread , it's a wonderful fresh bread that's so easy to bite & fresh, not frozen shrimp. Why am I only giving 4 stars? No butter ..... that's the only fault.
