Pizza Capricciosa

This is the capricciosa pizza I ordered, you be the judge. I got one entire piece of artichoke on the side. 2 slices of prosciutto crudo (capricciosa is made w prosciutto cotto). 4 olives all clumped together, and a hard boiled egg that was green around the yolk, it looks like it was made days ago. I tried giving the pizza a shot and the mushrooms were cold. I left the remainder of the pizza there; the waiter asked me how my dinner was, I told him the beer was good. This is a warning to any American or foreigner from an Italian, do not come here.

Friendly wait staff is the best thing about this pizzeria. The food is ok, not the best and by far not the worst. I prefer my pizza to have a crust that had flavour. This is not the stand in Rome so I had to make do with the standard lovely toppings to cover the cardboard taste of the crust. The heat of Rome (yes to me the mid 70s is heat) meant that I wasn't overly hungry so I didn't have antipasti, just the pizza. Well the waiter did force me to have dessert which was ok. But the staff treat you friendly in a country where they do not necessarily have to friendly for tips. It's nice to have a joke and humour with the wait staff. That's why this place gets three stars instead of the two it should get for the food.

Their pasta with mussels, porcini mushrooms, and saffron is the best thing I ate in Rome.

Love this place! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Simone helped us. He was very patient and helped us order since it was our first time there and my dad is a picky eater. The food was outstanding, and the desserts were delicious. Will be coming back when I return to Rome!

Great little find close to my hotel up the hill. Great sunroom patio and actually one of the largest Restaurants I've been in since my arrival enjoyed the caprese to start (tomatoes and mozzarella ) and had Carbonara Pasta. Most places here have very good portion sizes but this was even more and plenty to "take away" as they say vs to go lol. I was worried the bacon would make it too salty but it was a Perfect touch. They have a nice wine selection and small desert menu but I'm going to hit the pastry shop I passed along the way. I would recommend this because the prices are great and perfect for groups and quick lunch. My only compliant was service was slow, I had to ask for check 3x it wasn't busy and that took almost 15 min

I've always wanted to say "there's this great little place in Rome you must try when you visit" This is that place for us! We've returned over and over and had something different each time and loved it every single time! When you feel like family too, it's easy to come back!

Tacito is one of those hidden gems we stumbled across on our way to actually ANOTHER restaurant for…read moredinner. Enchanted by the antique motorcycles and artistic light display illuminating the restaurant, we peaked in the door, only to be greeted warmly by a very friendly staff. To two weary travelers, the manager's relaxed, but conversational attitude was a wonderful surprise; especially when compared to most of the professional, but aloof attitudes we encountered in Italy so far. For a starter, we tried the Octopus Carpaccio. It was fantastic! Garnished in lots of fennel, so be ready for a light, but delicious appetizer! This was followed quickly by our pasta entrees which were paired perfectly by the organic white wine that Tacito carries. (We actually learned later that the creaminess of the pasta was a result of the cheeses used and not heavy cream. This homemade authenticity is definitely noticeable, so be sure to give it a try). Unfortunately, we weren't able to stay for dessert, as we were running late for a work meeting. Hearing that we had to get going, the staff quickly brought us containers to take our food home in, as well as utensils to eat with! (If you haven't been in Italy long, you'll see that this isn't usually the case when you ask for "to go"). While we were paying the check, the manager told us about his past, growing up in Connecticut and ended up offering to take a shot with us! Pouring out the shots, he gave us advice on where to go out in the evenings, and wished us the best of luck in our travels. The level of hospitality, food, and service displayed at Tacitio should be a benchmark goal for restaurants everywhere. Thank you to the entire staff for treating us to such a wonderful time! Salute!

Everyone needs a trip to Italy, if nothing more than to enjoy all of the food…read more When you've landed, you're hungry, and it's not lunch time, and it's not dinner time, you may end up, selling for whatever you can find is open We were absolutely starving, and wanting to indulge in our first Italian meal, what do you do when you're in Italy?! You may want to indulge in pasta or pizza! We walked in, and we were immediately seated. Air conditioning is nonexistent, and on a hot summer day, it would've been cooler to dine outside. had that been an option, and it was 95° out. As soon as we were seated, we were immediately told that Pizza and some of their baked Italian dishes were not going to be available. Boo. The wait staff seemed fairly nice, and offered to bring us glasses of water. The glasses were super tiny, and thankfully the waitress brought over a carafe of water. We asked for a few suggestions, since both of us had been craving pizza, and she suggested the Carbonara. She said it was one of the best dishes. While we were waiting for our food, several other tables were immediately filled up with other customers, families and friends alike. It was interesting that those tables were served pizza... I'll just leave it at that. The carbonara Was anything less than delicious. We both found the pasta to be barely cooked. Not al dente, but barely cooked. The seasoning was mediocre, and there was very little pork, which is supposed to be the highlight of this dish, in this dish. Diners tip: if you are not a local, keep in mind that your version of Customer Service may or may not fit what Customer Service is in Rome. Despite being hungry, I had a hard time, finishing the food, let alone actually eating it. The waitress only came over at the end to drop off the check, and when she noticed that I had barely eaten anything, first gave me a strange look, and then asked about it. It was definitely one of those situations where saying something was wrong would've been met with unwanted attention. This is in a place to add to your must try list... There are plenty of other places, even in and around this area that more than likely would be a better choice.
