I've been seeing June for massages since 2021, and let me tell you, she's hands down the best therapist I've come across in the Bay Area (and I've tried quite a few). She has this incredible knack for understanding exactly what you need and making you feel at ease. Besides being exceptionally skilled, she's genuinely caring and compassionate. Her place is not just clean, but also super cozy. The prices for her treatments are absolutely worth the top-notch service you receive. She even did my prenatal and post-natal massages, and I couldn't be happier that I found her. Already looking forward to my next visit! read more

June is amazing!! Highly recommend the signature massage...great mix of Thai and Western massage that always delivers exactly what I need. Very healing! read more

I need vlVERY firm pressure for massages. Most women can't apply enough force and even some men find it tiring. Or the massage therapist leave bruises because they did deep tissue wrong. June was really good despite being a small woman. While she did not ask how you like your massage, she adjustee as soon as I asked her to apply more pressure. read more

What could improve is communication. I booked and confirmed a massage online. I received a separate email from a person at the spa asking to arrive at a different time than what I had booked, to call or message to confirm. I replied back asking instead to reschedule. I left a vm as well. I received no responses. I realize they have a 12 hour cancellation policy and by the time I replied to their request to confirm their requested change, it was 9 plus hours out. But I believe they broke their contract and at the very least caused confusion by asking to change the time and for a separate confirmation of the appointment I had originally booked, received confirmation for online. No reply, no call back from this provider. So I didn't arrive for either appointment time. This cost me the spa credits for the session I didn't enjoy PLUS a cancellation fee greater than the cost of the spa credits wasted. I will not be attempting a rebook. I get a scammy feel from this place. Strange emails asking to confirm an already confirmed appointment? Trying to change the appointment, totally non responsive, then charging cancellation fees? Seems crooked. read more

Wonderful spa experience! June is so kind and provides exceptional massages. Aside from the amazing massage I received, I truly appreciated June's level of professionalism and customer service. You are given the opportunity to choose the areas of focus for your massage and indicate areas to avoid. The massage itself is relaxing and reinvigorating. Would highly recommend! read more

This place is my favorite massage place. The skill of Bunya and staff is incredible. The efficiency of what they are able to accomplish with a 1 hour service always leaves me feeling like I got hooked up. I've been to places that have charged 2x or more and have not even been close to the quality that is here. I leave here with a glowing, natural, body high. Seriously, I love this place and will be returning as much as I can. read more

I've been praying for God to heal my shoulder. I was just driving by this area and decided to get a massage out of the sudden. When June touched me, I cried. I got the full body Thai massage. It was painful for me but liberating. I'm sure you will like June as your massage therapist. read more

I purchased a two hour massage package for my wife for Mother's Day. She had a great visit and would return. Very friendly.

My job gives $300 for health & wellness, which includes massages I found Bunya on Yelp that had great reviews and is located fairly close to me, so I decided to give myself a Mother's Day massage. I chose a la carte, because I wanted specific things, so I booked the Indian Head massage, foot reflexology and a 45 min focus massage to concentrate on my right shoulder and I'm always looking for a good massage on my shoulder & carpal tunnel. Can I just say WOW!!!!!!!!!!! June was INCREDIBLE!! I walked in with a headache from allergies and midway thru it was gone and all sinus cleared!!! She worked my shoulder and carpal tunnel so hard but oh man, it was GREAT!!! I felt so relaxed, so taken care of and it's obvious June knows and loves what she's doing. I'm booking again, booking for my hubby too!! read more

I just had an amazing massage by June! This was my first time there but certainly not my last. I was so in need of a massage and hadn't had one for quite some time and tried my luck at the Banyan Tree Spa. Oh boy was I thrilled and happy. June was so thorough and did an excellent job. I like the contemplative nature of a massage and don't prefer to talk during it and June was very respectful and understood I preferred quiet. She was so skilled and talented and knew what she was doing. I will try to go back on a regular basis and request June each time. I feel so lucky to have found her today. Thank you so much June for the amazing massage and your generous and kind energy!! read more

Awesome place to get a great Thai Massage!! My sister recommended this place for me during Mother's Day and I have been here twice and I also booked an appointment for my husband for his birthday and was really surprised how close it was to our house and the owner is absolutely amazing as well!! read more

I needed/wanted a massage, but didn't want to travel to where I usually get shiatsu. I'd wanted to try Thai massage, and consulted Yelp for possibilities near me in Richmond. Bunya Tree Spa appeared. I was almost suspicious with every review being stellar, no less than 5-stars with glowing comments. I made an appointment anyway. So glad I did. June did excellent work for a very reasonable fee. Intuitive, always knowing the appropriate pressure, asking if it was okay along the way, I felt I was in excellent hands, start to finish. I came in with tight shoulders and blocked energy, left all loosened and energized. Thanks, June. I'll definitely be back. read more

Made a reservation. Gave me 50% discount if I paid ahead. After the massage she asked for a $45 tip. That brings it to full price. It's a house, not a storefront. Website makes it seem like a nice spa location, it's a house... read more

Bunya Tree Spa is my new go to spot for massages. Prior to coming, like another review had mentioned, I was a bit skeptical because I saw that the location of spa was located inside a house in a residential area. However, that concern quickly faded away when I entered the spa and saw how clean and professional the spa was. I was also immediately greeted by June who was very warm and welcoming. In regard to the massage itself, I absolutely loved every second of it. Rita applied the perfect amount of strength and time to address the tense areas of my body noted on the intake form. Additionally, Rita used her forearm and entire hand throughout the massage which I really appreciate (I mention this because many of the masseuses I've worked with at other spas use their elbows and lower palm to apply pressure, leaving me with more pain that I already came in with). So if you're contemplating on booking an appointment with Bunya Tree Spa, this is your sign to do so! (: read more

Don't be fooled by the residential look of this spa, the inside is wonderful and the massages are amazing. I had a full body massage and a scalp treatment and I loved every minute of it. Your massage is followed by a tasty tea. I highly recommend this please. I'll definitely go back! read more

My first time at Bunya... I usually get a deep tissue massage and June didn't disappoint. She made sure to ask throughout the therapy if the pressure was good adjusting as needed. I also like how she incorporated stretching . I believe that would be the Thai massage. I'm able to get that extra stretch that I otherwise wouldn't be able to accomplish by myself. I will be returning as soon as I can. read more

This a nice, local massage place. I really enjoyed the attention and experience. The Swedish massage was spot on and I felt so much better after. If you're looking for a mellow experience and a great massage this place is wonderful. read more

Outstanding quality service and a hidden gem in Richmond! June is one of the most thoughtful and talented massage therapists I have ever been to. She carefully addressed areas of intense pain in my lower back and knees. Now I feel significantly more relief than before and my body feels more normal than it has been in years. She takes care of you from the moment you arrive, greets you with a big smile and gives you her undivided attention all throughout. I've been twice for a custom massage - one 60 mins and the other 90 mins. I can't wait to schedule my next appointment - highly recommend going for a custom 90 min session! read more

Amazing massage!! I was experiencing back pain and overall stiffness and booked a 90 min hot stone massage and feel brand new. She massaged my whole body but also focused on the exact trouble areas and relieved knots in my back. The space is relaxing, quiet, and most importantly clean. I can't wait to go back! read more

What a special place. You are welcomed by a sweet little garden in front with flowers and windchimes. Once inside, you immediately feel at home (literally). Extra touches abound, like the warm footbath upon arrival when you are filling out the intake form. The massage room was very warm and smelled good. During the massage, each time I was moved to a different position, the masseuse put a warm compress on my back or under my neck. The amount of pressure was just right. I've gotten many Thai massages but I've never felt as cared for or comfortable. My first experience with Bunya was wonderful and I would definitely return. read more

I choose a partial Thai massage customized with hot stones and traditional massage. The menu is thorough with add ons available. The location is easy to find with plenty of parking right out front. The atmosphere is relaxing and friendly, I left feeling like a new person when I left . I always prefer to support local small business whenever possible . I will for sure be a repeat customer . Highly recommend 10/10 ! read more

First there is no sign in front of the building so it is alittle hard to find. But it is lovely and calm inside. Booked a 2 hour massage same day which was what I had been lookong for. Left feeling like a jelly noodle. Highly reccomend read more

I went to Bunya Tree for the first time today and had an amazing experience! I booked the 1 hour deep tissue massage with June. She was so kind and checked in with me throughout the massage to make sure the pressure was ok. I also filled out a form when I arrived that allows guests to fill out any health concerns or problem areas that they have. The space was very peaceful and calm. I will definitely be back :) read more

Hands down the best massage I've ever had. June is amazing & so sweet. Definitely going back

This is the best Thai massage I've received since living in Thailand. June is warm, professional and very skillful. My husband gifted me a birthday massage and when June found out, she gave me a card and a gift certificate on my way out. It was very generous and thoughtful. Beautiful setting, friendly owners, incredible massage! My experience was blissful and serene.

I just got a massage from June and oh goodness! She's great! She took out the kinks I was feeling in my shoulders and kinks I didn't even know I had. The pressure she was putting was what I call "hurts so good" cause I know it's taking care of the tension regardless of the pain I'm feeling. She was attentive and asking if I was doing fine when she was working kinks out. June's work was so good, I walked out of there with a gift certificate for my husband. I will definitely be going back and recommending her. Thank you so much June! read more

I had an amazing first massage today at Bunya Tree spa. I chose "custom massage" because I didn't know exactly what I wanted. As soon as I walked in to the very unassuming building, my feet were put into a bath of warm water with orange slices. It only got better from there. June was amazing, and very responsive to particular instructions for more/less intensity. The heated oil and towels were a nice touch. I left feeling relaxed and happy. Perfect for a cold winter day! read more

I just received one of the best messages I've ever had! June is amazing. She made me feel so relaxed the moment I entered the door. While she was able to apply the deep pressure I was looking for, I didn't feel manhandled like I have by others in the past. She also really listened to what I wanted, focusing a good amount of attention on my problem areas. This is now my go-to spa! Highly recommend: 10/10. read more

I have had two great massages here. Glad they have options with head and scalp emphasis. Very kind folks.

One of the most incredible massages I've ever had. I will be coming back. A lovely spot.

Fantastic traditional Thai massage close to home. June is certified and genuinely Thai!

I had a great experience here! I booked the 60min Aromatherapy Massage for relaxation and that is exactly what I got. Bunya is sweet, professional and radiates good energy. She has converted her home into a relaxation oasis and look forward to booking again. read more

Had a 60 minute deep tissue massage and it was fantastic. I didn't get the name of my masseuse but she was great. The studio is very clean and everyone there was very welcoming. When you arrive, they welcome you with a foot soak and a foot scrub which a lot of massage places around the Bay Area don't tend to do. It reminded me of the massage studios in Thailand where they also proceed a massage with a foot scrub. It's the extra little things that can make an experience from good to great. The quality of the massage was great and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend Bunya Tree Spa! read more

I received a 90 min Thai massage from June and it was wonderful. Before the session, I received a warm water foot bath and a pair of pants to wear during the massage. The pressure June provided was perfectly attuned to the tension in my body and muscles and I felt well cared for. After the massage we had a lovely chat and I we drank delicious tea made from Pandan leaves. As I am writing my review, I feel super relaxed, calm and content. I am looking forward to my next session with June! I highly recommend June and the Bunya Tree Spa for your necessary well-being. read more

I had a wonderful experience here. I started with about 20 minutes in the sauna followed by a massage with Bunyalak. She focused on everywhere I needed relief and I felt wonderful afterwards.
