I've just bought my fourth pair of glasses from Bundy's over the last few years. Jerry and Jose are perfectionists who do a phenomenal job getting you the perfect glasses for amazing vision. Prior to going to Bundy's, I had a lot of trouble with eyeglass stores giving me poor-quality lenses where I didn't see well and had to get the lenses remade multiple times. All four of the glasses I've bought from Bundy's have given me perfect vision. Jerry gets everything right with my lenses--coatings, edge polishing, lens material and thickness, and arranging my glasses to be at the right height on my face. Jose is a master eyeglass fitter; he can fix my crooked frames so much more quickly than most fitters, and I'm a person who can't tolerate having my frames being crooked by a millimeter. I was looking for replacement bifocal lenses for my current frames, as well as a new pair of bifocal sunglasses. I was fitted by Gerry Bundy, himself. He is *extremely* exact. He wouldn't quit until the fit was just right. Having dealt with indifferent or harried store reps in the past, I was very impressed. The prices, even with an in-store discount, are a little on the high end. But the service was way up there - far better than the mall-based chains. Good selection of frames. I jumped in the river and lost one of my $200.00 prescription sunglass lenses. I just can't live with out my sunglasses! I am like a mole, just can't go out with out my shades. So I called Bundy where I had bought my glasses and they ordered a new lens over the phone. No deposit no hassles. (These were progressive tri focal with all kinds of special coatings). I dropped off my frames the next day thinking it would be a week to get a replacement. They called me the next day with my glasses ready! Daammmm that was three days. How do they do that? When I picked them up he took one look at my clear ones and cleaned them adjusted them and replaced the old sticky pads. NO CHARGE!! I danced a jig all the way home. Not really,I drive a Prius. What are we going to do when the industry looses this type of quality professionals and all we have is the fast food Lens Crappers? Spend the extra buck and let's kept these people in business. I don't even know if I could find them cheeper.No way I could find better service. If Bunny Queen( one star review) wants free mesuremends to take to the internet, she can go stuff it, Ha! Excellent customer service!! On a recent Monday morning we had an emergency eyeglass repair that had to be done prior to catching a flight. The store opens at 9 am (at least one hour before most other shops). And - when I called to inquire about coming in with no advance notice, I received a very genuine, warm and friendly reception on the phone. Ditto when we arrived at the shop. They fixed the glasses very quickly and would only accept a nominal payment for an eyeglass case. I intend to return to this store and give them more business. We need to support fine, local shops like this that know what they are doing and offer such a wonderful customer experience!! read more

I have never bought any glass from them unfortunately but I always go there to adjust my glasses. They always take their time that my glass fit perfectly on my face and they don't charge me at all! This is old school service you can't find easily anymore! I lost my "distance" glasses purchased in HK about 3 years ago. So bummed because I know it costs an arm & a leg to have it replaced here plus the reasonably-priced frame choices are limited. Got a coupon for the new Site for Sore Eyes on 3rd & found out that I have a discount for Lens Crafters. I first went to Lens Crafters in Hillsdale. A few choices but I'm still shopping. Then I went to Site for Sore Eyes. Mediocre selections - really cheap frames mostly made in China. So I planned a visit to my old optician - Bundy Opticians. I should have just stopped by their store in the first place. Plus I like patronizing family-owned businesses so why did I even waste my time? These folks are honest and down right wonderful!! I got my glasses with designer frame from Lenscrafter in LA couple of years ago. Recently the temple hinge on the frame broke and when I took it back to Lenscrafter they told me it cannot be repaired! So instead I took it to the next door jewelry shop they put the hinge back to working condition while charging me $60 (gave me one year warranty). Today while visiting bay area on a business trip the same hinge broke again and had a hard time working through the day. I took it to Bundy Opticians for an emergency repair. Laura took a quick look and told me it is an easy fix! Lo and behold she is back in 5 min with the temple attached back to the frame better than before! And the most astonishing part is she refused any fee as she considered this is a small service to the customers and no fees needed! I was totally blown away!! Next time I'm getting a new pair I'd make serious effort to time my trip to bay area just so that I would have the privilege to get it done by Bundy Opticians! San Mateo folks have a gem of a shop with the people running it are as competent and honest rare in this day and age of greed and trickery. Searched yelp for recommendations on good opticians and I found this one on the top! I had no time to review all the recommendations so I decided to visit this shop. The shop gives a good vibe with nice arrangement of various brands of glasses. I see a statement written on wall "serving from 1958" and thought it must to be good place to be in. My opinion still got stronger when Mr. Bundy greeted me with warm smile. I went there to fix the frame of my glasses and he assured me it is a very small one to fix. And guess what... he did not charge me anything and the glasses were back to their original form without a clue that they were once broken. Great place with amazing customer service. I went into Bundy Opticians today to see if they could fix my wife's glasses. After the pin in the hinge fell out, I really messed them up by trying to fix them myself. I showed up without an appointment and Gerry greeted me right away. He took my wife's glasses for a few minutes and restored the hinge to a new condition. After attempting to pay him (which he would not accept), I asked if I could give him anything... his response was an extension of his hand for a handshake. Great guy and great place.
