I just dropped in this morning at about 11:20 AM. Ray was able to get my Gucci sunglasses right on my face. I have been keeping my sunglasses in the drawer cause they would always fall off my face just being outside. Well, it's about to be summer and I'm gonna be out and about. Ray made sure I could shake my head and look down and dance without them falling off. Thank you, Ray for your care and easy quick easy fix on my sunglasses! They also have some cute shades in the store! read more

If personalized experience and easy parking are your top priorities in eye care services, look no further. Get Your Fix Optics has it all. The sales associate at the Valley Fair Mall had suggested a consultation could result in the shipment of my sunglasses back to Italy for repair. I couldn't bare the thought of separating from my favorite Gucci's for 4-8 weeks for a missing screw. (designer sunglass I've owned since 2007). With my urgency for a second opinion, a colleague of mine had recommended this location to me for their expertise and customer service at Get Your Fix Optics in San Mateo. I met Grace at the front desk and she greeted me with a smile and while I spoke, she had eyes that glistened like the bright energy the shop gave. My entire interaction with Grace and her husband Rey, the genuine feeling of wanting to help me was present. They even said if they could fix it on the spot, the service would be of no charge (which turned out to be!) I also had the pleasure of speaking with Rey; his introduction as a business owner and goals for running the shop in a prime location explained how he caters to everyone's eye wear needs. It's an easy travel and your GPS can guide you to this shop. It's located inside a commercial building on the first floor with signs to guide you. A very safe location as its next to residential homes and other businesses like dental, law firms and brokers. From Borel Ave, traveling away from El Camino Real, make a left on Borel Place and on your immediate right hand side is the front of the office building, 1650 Borel Place. You can park on the street, a long side the building or enter the parking lot on the side of the building. Apparently they take appointments, but if you walk in and it's not busy, you may be able to get assistance on the spot. Perhaps I walked in the right time last Saturday, mid-morning. I also noticed right away that this Get Your Fix Optics is extremely clean and organized. A very inviting lounge area with coordinated modern lounge chairs, wall art and flat screen TV. And not to mention the clean laminate flooring and brightly lit rows of show room glasses on the opposite side of the lounge area. This location is a hidden gem! Thank you, Rey and Grace! Don't miss out on exceptional service and experience in a mom and pop's shop. Call first or stop by Get Your Fix Optics when you're in the area! read more

I had a pair of Ray-Ban prescription lenses that I wear every single day and the arm broke. I found Fix Optics tucked away in Borel Place. Not knowing there was a "magician" that worked there that sautered my arm back on so I could wear my glasses and then we ordered a new pair of arms. Everything was done on the spot and I received my new arms within 10 days. However, I will say that going into fix optics makes you want to measure up your eyeglasses game. Rey (owner with 30 year experience) has a tremendous amount of beautiful inventory, he provides personal attentive professional service and is a Bay Area native! I'm almost loath to tell you all that he's there, but I just feel the need to spread the goodness. Go check out Fix Optic on Borel In SM. You'll thank me later read more

I came for help getting a broken/stripped screw out of my glasses. It was really stuck, but the technician was able to remove it and replace it with a new screw in 30 minutes! They offered me water while I wait, and the technician also removed a screw's excess length to make the glasses symmetric. Excellent service, and thank you! read more

I thought I already wrote a review the first time I came years ago to get my son's glasses fixed that he can never take care of. Back then and today was the same quality service. Ray was able to fix them and save me from having to buy new frames. Not only does he have a welcoming personality and is very confident in his craftsmanship, most of all, he is inexpensive! Highly recommend! read more

I walked in for the first time today because I was having vision issues from Meta Rayban glasses I got. When I walked in, I felt like I stepped through a portal to Narnia. It was so nice in the shop. Rey is a cool guy. He cares about the relationship with his patients and I can tell his work is top quality. Thank you for the help today in diagnosing my problem!! read more

WOW! Fabulous experience. The location is near Highway 92 and nestled next door to a neighborhood. It's in a suite in a building, but plenty of parking. You enter a main lobby, then the suites are marked clearly on the wall before entering the hallway (Suite 100) just down on the right. There's a little doggy barrier for their resident pupper (so cute & friendly). The shop itself is beautiful - bright with lots of natural light, a few areas with a variety of optical gear for any sort of fix-it or whatnot. We were greeted by the daughter and then by Ray, the owner. We described the issue - a loose screw in the glasses frame we couldn't get to seat. He immediately got to work and within 5 seconds, they were fixed. "What do we owe you?"... he paused, smiled, and said, "How about a handshake, and tell your friends?" So we shook on it, and now I'm here to share! He told us he specializes in lenses, but also repairs, and has been in business for 30 years. Very professional and friendly. We will definitely go back! read more

I had a chance to consult with Rey, and came away highly impressed. Ray understands the industry, the products, the materials, and has a craftsman eye for process. In other words, he knows what he's talking about and that knowledge has come from directly earned hands-on experience. During the time I was present, several customers came in and out. Rey greeted them personally, and even recalled the specific reason they may be visiting for. There was an easy and comfortable vibe within the place and it was clear that maximizing profit was not the priority. If you want quality, reliability, and expertise - this is a wonderful option. Practical stuff 1. Parking is easy, as is access. 2. Rey will help you understand about insurance. read more

Absolutely ecstatic about how well they repaired my $2000.00 chrome hearts. They were fast and fairly priced.

Rey has made an art of excellence whether purchasing new glasses, repairing old loved ones, getting an adjustment, you will get the best, most honest advice in what to do: glasses are an investment in major quality of life issue. I met Rey decades ago when he was learning his trade in Red Wood City. When he made the big decision to open his own business, with the gracious help of his wife, I was lucky enough to tracked him down in San Mateo, conveniently located just off Hwy 92 with easy parking. His craftsmanship, wide spread knowledge and experience is a rare treasure in an incredibly competitive field. The minute you open the door, you immediately feel the loving environment. You can be assured you will not be hustled or quickly dismissed, instead enveloped with knowledge, expert, caring advice. read more

My husband has a favorite pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses that unfortunately have been discontinued, so we were incredibly excited to try and save them with replacement lenses. We headed to the mall to have the new lenses installed, but things quickly went downhill. One of the original lenses shattered during the process, and we were told one side of the frame may have possibly shrunk from sun exposure. After visiting 3 different stores in the mall, getting nowhere, and basically being told there was little to no hope left, we walked away feeling completely defeated. Determined to find a solution, I turned to Yelp -- and after seeing words like "magical" and "magician" used to describe the owner, I immediately knew we had to try this place. The second we walked into Get Your Fix Optics, we were greeted with such a warm, welcoming, and genuinely positive vibe. But what happened next honestly blew my mind. The owner took one look at the sunglasses, confidently got to work, and fixed the problem in UNDER TWO MINUTES. I was standing there in absolute shock. After hours of stress, multiple failed attempts, and thinking these sunglasses were ruined forever, he somehow worked actual magic and brought them back to life. He completely saved the day, honestly the week and month too. Seeing my husband get his favorite sunglasses back in perfect condition was the best feeling. Seriously, if you need anything at all related to glasses or sunglasses, stop searching and go here. This place is an absolute hidden gem, and the owner is unbelievably talented. One of the best customer service experiences I've had in a very long time. read more

The wife and I went to see Rey to get a pair of sunglasses fixed, which he did on the spot. Then we started looking at sunglasses that he sold. They were amazing, designs we have never seen before in chain stores. he has the ability to create and design his own lenses and put them in the most amazing frames. This guy is an artist. Got told by sunglass hut that they couldn't repair my off-white sunglasses by Virgil Abloh. Found "Get Your Fix Optics" on Google and met Ray an Optician Artisan who was able to adjust my sunglasses at no cost! Extremely satisfied with his work ethic and craftsmanship! Repaired my sunglasses in 10min and didn't charge me a repair fee. My sunglasses unfortunately fell face first and resulted in the left arm being misaligned, but was corrected by Ray at GYF in no time! Learned that he offers a wide range of sunglasses brands from causal to designer luxury. Will be back to purchase my next pair of sunnies soon! Thanks Ray and I hope you pay him a visit, worth the trip!!! read more

I brought 2 high end designer sunglasses here to get fixed, the first had the arm broken in half and the second, the hinge broke "inside" the actual sunglass frame. Both sunglasses were fixed excellently! Price was totally fair, plus they said I can bring them back if anything should happen and they will take care of it for me. Awesome job Ray!! Thanks again read more

This is the best team for adjusting your glasses--they'll make them fit perfectly! I had a favorite pair of designer sunglasses, but after 12 months of wearing them, they kept slipping down my face. Other places just tightened the arms, which never really solved the problem. Here, they fixed everything professionally. They took precise measurements and had me try the sunglasses twice to ensure the perfect fit. A very professional team and true day-makers! Amazing quick service. Ray did a great job on my glasses repair and I was out the door in 30 mins. They also got a better selection of frames than your typical optometry office. Definitely recommend, will going here for my next frame! read more

After my initial visit over 2 years ago, my wife accidentally stepped on her glasses causing the spring on one of the bows to be broken. After initially going to our family optometrist who by the way is great and has some senior employees who know to adjust and repair one's glasses they unfortunately were not able to fix the issue and referred her to Rey who I remembered did a fantastic job of adding nose pads to my sunglasses that did not have that feature. Located in a nondescript office building in San Mateo, he was able to fix the issue as he had the proper tools and items needed. In and out within 10 minutes. Great service and offered to pay for the materials and his response was a handshake from me. On an updated note, his office is unlike any that I have ever been too with a cool vibe and bussin displays of high end frames that one would not normally see (think $500 -$2300) at a typical optometrist shop. He also has altered his business model as he now has a Doctor of Optometry who works in the same office with him. read more

I can't recommend this place enough. After our obnoxious bird decided that one arm and nose pad of my favorite glasses, which I've worn for probably 10 years, would make a lovely chew toy, I managed to find a secondhand set of frames on eBay, and brought both pairs in to Rey. Within a few minutes, he had moved the good arm from the secondhand pair to my frame, and replaced both nose pads with brand new ones that fit perfectly, then gave them a quick ultrasonic cleaning, at a very reasonable price! Now as long as I can keep them away from that little monster bird, I can probably wear these for another ten years. I couldn't be happier! read more

I was referred to Get Your Fix Optics for repair of my damaged eyeglasses, which had a piece broken off near the screws that resulted in the glasses insecurely sitting on my face. The owner, Ray, analyzed my glasses, and quickly informed me about the process for repairing them. Even though I came in near the end of the work day, Ray started working on my glasses while I was in the office and within 30 minutes my glasses were fixed! Ray runs a family business, and while I waited, his daughter informed me that he would complete the repair at NO COST. I am incredibly grateful for the swift and generous service! My glasses now sit securely and comfortably, and I would definitely recommend Get Your Fix Optics for eyeglass repairs and optometry needs. Thanks again! read more

Nothing but positive feedback here. My daughter's Frame broke, she is 5, and they were the only shop that was able to fix it. It is a petite and delicate frame, and they told me they would do their best, and they did. I am very thankful that they got it fixed within 2 days! read more

I stopped in to get a pair of sunglasses repaired. I did not purchase them here but they didn't hesitate to help me. The glasses are some outdoorsy brand (a gift so I don't remember the name) and the gentleman fixing them immediately knew the brand. This; and further conversations, showed me how knowledgeable he is. He fixed my glasses quickly and free of charge. Then they (perhaps his daughter) took time to answer some general questions I had. I tried on a number of sun glasses without any pressure to buy. It's also a bright and beautiful shop. It was a great experience! Wow! What great care and service. My sunglasses needed repairing. He was straightforward that there was a chance he wouldn't be able to fix it, and if he couldn't, how much it would cost to replace the entire hing. We came here with two pairs of glasses in need of TLC-- one pricey and a cheap pair purchased online -- and I was very impressed with the work here. One pair had loose arms and kept falling off, and the other pair just never felt comfortable despite repeated adjustments at the original store. It just took a few tweaks and adjustments to get both frames fitting perfectly -- and MUCH cheaper than buying a new pair of glasses. read more

Ray found a creative solution when the manufacturers Rep wouldn't even sell him the small part to make it an easy fix. He worked on it for 2 weeks and charged me only $40.00 even though his estimate was $65.00. Wow!
