Others included David in sales who demystified the process, Varon who coordinated with the utility to ensure we met all requirements, and Gino, who collaborated with Maxwell Power (formerly HDM Renewable Finance), the clean-energy company that helped finance our residential system. On site, the design and install team did a great job keeping things simple. The entire system, including battery and thirteen panels, was installed according to Ramiros's expert design within just four hours. Good quality hardware was used to tie to the roof, which was inspected by our roofer and given a big thumbs up for not causing problems. But even before that, David our site survey tech, gave us the sense that all would proceed well, as he collected necessary data by drone, and made a favorable first impression with his personable approach. Toward the end of the multi-month process, which included time to get a new roof installed, we passed city inspection with YES tech, Dario, an extremely courteous young man, present to ensure we made it through that last step and PTO (permission to operate). YES has an excellent and well-deserved reputation because of these people and others who worked on our behalf. The company can do better automating some of the process, and to be fair, they say they are working on transitioning to a CRM software solution for this purpose. But, I can say that over a period of several months, I had excellent communication with many helpful people. Skyler in customer service was my primary contact and that made all the difference. My thanks to YES for helping us make this wonderful and complex project a reality. We love our new YES-backed system and look forward to working with the company again in the future.

I had a frustrating experience with Your Energy Solutions regarding a warranty transfer. We were later charged $500 with no prior breakdown or explanation of the fee. I clearly communicated that I would be the one paying this charge. Despite that, the service department reached out directly to the buyer and asked who would be paying. This unnecessary contact created confusion and complications during the escrow process that could have easily been avoided. The lack of transparency on the warranty transfer fee and the poor internal communication caused more stress than necessary. Businesses handling real estate-related services should be more careful with both contract clarity and how they communicate with parties involved in a transaction.

I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. Because of the good experience I had with having Clean Solar install panels at my house I reached out to them to see if they would service panels installed by another, and thankfully they accepted the job. After some back and forth with their customer support, they remotely assessed that the inverter failed and they would install a new one for a reasonable price. Clean Solar employee Jose arrived early for the install and he was very polite and relatable. He replaced the inverter and did not leave until he made sure that the system was back up and running and production was being reported in the app. I recommend Clean Solar to anyone needing their panels serviced or to install a new system. At one point our bedrooms electricity didn't work, it wasn't the breakers and Nick was awesome enough to take our after hours call and help us manually override those other 2 disconnected wall panels. The dream team (Nick, Kevin and Albert) resolved the connection and all is working now. Also, Nick stayed late to make sure our Tesla walls were configured and updated properly. Plus , a shout out to Jeremy for staying late as well to help fix a broken issue. Feedback: Organize a team that works well together to effectively complete the project. We purchased our solar system through Clean Earth Consultants, working directly with Collin. Collin sold us on a turnkey solar solution and told us that Qcells/AXIA would handle the installation and related service. He repeatedly assured us that he would remain involved throughout the entire process, from installation and permitting through activation. We signed up around August/September 2025 and specifically asked Collin to commit to having everything installed, approved and operational before the end of the year. He said absolutely and assured us they had trusted partners and installers who would make sure everything went smoothly. That is not remotely what happened. The panels were installed, but the proper parts had not been ordered, which created additional delays with permitting. We were left with panels on our house that weren't operational, couldn't be turned on and still had outstanding permitting/code issues. Meanwhile, we were paying for the solar system and continuing to pay a huge PG&E bill. Collin had told us he would be there throughout installation and permitting. He wasn't. When things started going wrong, he became nearly impossible to reach. We emailed, texted and called repeatedly because we had no idea what was happening or what the next steps were. What I find completely unacceptable is that when Collin finally responded, he told us he doesn't handle confrontation well and had chosen to ignore our calls. We weren't trying to confront him. We were customers trying to get answers about an expensive solar system sitting on our house that didn't work. At that point, I expected Qcells/AXIA, as the company handling the installation and service, to step in and take ownership of the situation. They were just as frustrating to deal with. We struggled to get clear answers, accountability or someone who would actually take responsibility for getting our system operational. I eventually contacted PG&E myself and was given information that was completely different from what we had been told. I essentially became the project manager and had to do the legwork myself to figure out what needed to happen and push the process forward. It took approximately eight months to finally get everything resolved and our system operational -- after we were explicitly promised it would be completed before the end of 2025. Even after everything we've been through, Collin has yet to properly finalize and close out our contract. Solar is a major financial investment, and this experience showed us how important it is to know who will actually be accountable once the sale is made. Clean Earth Consultants sold us the system, Qcells/AXIA handled the installation/service, and when things went wrong, we felt like we were left in the middle trying to get everyone to do what we had been promised from the beginning. I would absolutely not go through this process again with these companies. Save yourself the months of frustration and find a company that will take responsibility for the entire process and actually be there when something goes wrong.

Can't believe they are even still in business. RE Greg's reply, saying he never dealt with me is an outright lie. I had both text and phone conversations with multiple people at Occidental including Greg, and we have emails to show that we specifically requested parts information and were told the way to get that was to complete an inspection. Everything in my review and this follow up is documented in writing. The tech who did the inspection told us in person as well that he'd provide that information within a few days, but we never heard from him and our follow ups to him went unanswered. Greg then specifically told me to follow up with him, not Noah, but claimed they don't provide that kind of part information, which they would have needed to tell us when we requested it instead of saying to get an inspection to do so. At each stage, nobody at Occidental seemed to even know what the issue with our system was! Noah had not been told anything prior to the inspection, and when we tried to follow up neither Ava in the office nor Greg seemed to have gotten any information from Noah's inspection. The repair estimate Greg refers to was not for the correct issue we had, and would have done work that Noah told us at the inspection was not needed. We repaired our system using a different company who of course is licensed! Why would you use a company that can't even communicate between their own staff? That Greg then billed us for the inspection anyway is beyond unreasonable.
