Incompetent, Nasty, condescending, passive-aggressive, and disrespectful owner. Oh, what a "shining example of professionalism"- Meagan- the Incompetent owner. Actually, the Incompetent owner Meagan is extremely unprofessional in her email communications and does not conduct proper assessments for the children in her care. The incompetent owner also fails to maintain consistent documentation or proper progress notes following therapy sessions. Instead, the incompetent owner lazily provides only a closing report, which is vague and does not clearly outline a child's developmental progress. Per her minimal requirement, the therapists do not appear to take detailed assessment notes during each session to properly track a child's progress over time. My child was under their care for one year and only two notes were documented. When I raised this concern, the incompetent owner sarcastically referenced "signature logs" during the discussion rather than addressing the lack of clinical documentation. It gives the impression that the incompetent owner's priority is not the child's developmental progress, but rather the COLLECTION OF PAYMENT from the Regional Center, parents paying out of pocket, or medical insurance. In my opinion, the incompetent owner lacks professionalism, compassion, and the ethical responsibility that should come with operating an occupational therapy practice. I would not recommend this company or this incompetent owner. Based on my experience, the incompetent owner demonstrates a concerning lack of professional ethics, accountability, and genuine care for children. I'm sure the incompetent owner will leave a condescending and passive-aggressive response below hence showcasing her character and directly demonstrating her sense of professionalism... or lack thereof. My son has been receiving OT here for the past two years with Ms.Casey and I have nothing but wonderful and positive things to say about this therapy center and the owner Maegan Robinson. At the beginning of the year our insurance providers changed out of the blue leaving us with an even higher deductible than before. Unfortunately we haven't been able to afford OT since that change and are now in the process of co pay assistance with the regional center. Maegan has been working with us and has been kind enough to hold his spot while everything gets situated. Her kindness and support have been a great help to me. We started PT with Sarina in the beginning of April. Her patience and knowledge has helped our little one make so much progress in these last few months. I live in Redlands and commuted to La Verne once a week for 2 years for my son's O.T. here. THAT'S how AMAZING this place is. I found out about B.B. through an internet friend. When my son was 18 months he started exhibiting extreme sensory seeking behaviors. He was evaluated for autism repeatedly by several pediatricians and IRC. I knew he wasn't autistic but I was positive he had ADHD. However since he was too early to diagnose and since he didn't meet any developmental delays it was near impossible for us to get services that I knew he needed. Thanks to a Facebook group for sensory mom's, I met my friend who recommend B.B. and our lives changed forever. We were so fortunate to have Heather as our therapist. She believed me and validated me from the second we started talking. She took a genuine interest in our unique family and helped us navigate through the complex sensory world. Even during the pandemic she helped us keep the ball rolling. I mean we were in CRISIS from how intense our little super hero was. I even discovered my own autism through this journey. I would still be coming here if it wasn't for a personal health problem that prevents me from driving long distance. Thankfully we can still incorporate many of the exercises and therapies Heather taught us, using products/equipment she recommend we purchase for our home. We miss her so much. There was a few occasions that we had to have another therapist sub in for Heather and they were also wonderful. The owner Maegan is amazing as well. There was a period of several months where our Kaiser insurance was a nightmare for billing and authorization. Maegan continued to work with us and was super flexible with the payments. I genuinely cannot say enough good things about building blocks and I may never be able to fully express my gratitude for the time we spent with them. We worked with Building Blocks and Ms. Heather for the better part of two years for my daughters occupational therapy. We can't thank her enough for the kindness she has shown to our daughter and the progress she's helped her gain. Their entire team, Ms. Maegan, the office staff, and Ms. Heather were amazing to work with, showed a sincere interest in helping our daughter meet her goals, and we still refer to a lot of the advice provided during our time at Building Blocks. We no longer live in CA, so we unfortunately were not able to continue services there. I would HIGHLY recommend Ms. Maegan and Ms. Heather to anyone looking for therapy services for their child. I have two amazing autistic kiddos who have been receiving OT services from Building Blocks for over 5 years. I cannot express how happy I am that I came here. As a mother to two autistic children, you find yourself a bit lost when you are first seeking therapy services. The OT therapists at Building Blocks were a tremendous help. They were patient and answered any questions I had. I've worked with different therapists over the years at BBT4K and each therapist brought something new and helpful to the program. Also, I've never had any bad experiences with any of them. My family has always been treated with professionalism, patience and kindness (all things that are essential to teaching an autistic child). I myself have learned so much through their parent education program. It's given me the confidence to work with my kiddos on my own at home. Heather and Kristen were my two main therapists and they were truly a pleasure to work with. They were very experienced and had the best advice to give me. They were open to collaborating with me when coming up with innovative ways to help soothe my son's sensory needs. Terrible experience. We started with Building Blocks for my son's OT. I was told we had a certain amount of sessions, but don't worry they will handle insurance and get more once it's close to time. We did our sessions. I was told they were applying for more since it was getting close. I thought everything was taken care of. Next thing I know I'm told I have to be a cash patient since insurance denied more sessions. I decided to cancel future appointments. Everything was fine and several months later I get a bill for $800 (might have been more this was 2021 and I'm trying to remember). I call them (of course no phone number on the bill and I have to look it up) but nobody answers. I leave a message. They send another bill, I call, leave a message, no response. This happened several times before the owner calls me. The owner says I took my son to class and the insurance didn't pay so I owe this money. I explained that I was told they would get clearance and only do the sessions my Insurance would cover which is why we stopped going. She informed me that was my responsibility, not hers, but she will give me a discount to pay in full over the phone. It was $200 or $300 so I paid in full thinking I wouldn't have to deal with them again.n She assured me everything is paid, no balance due. Fast forward over 6 months later and I get a new bill (now May 2022)! This time it says my insurance paid for sessions dated 5/7/21, 5/14,21, & 6/10/21 and I owe a $15 copay for each, totally $45! According to my last conversation with the owner I had paid all things in full and my Insurance had not paid those dates. That means if my insurance paid for those three dates they owe me the money my insurance paid since they were now double paid. I called to let them know the mistake and how to refund me. No answer, no return phone call. I received another bill, I called, no answer, no return call. Today was my 3rd call trying to get everything straightened out. I'm sure I won't hear back so hopefully posting here can save one of you from this headache! If my son made huge improvements and loved it there it would be worth the hassle, but he hated it and we did not get noticeable improvements to be worth it. I highly suggest going somewhere else. I had no idea it was this bad until 6 months after we stopped going. It's been a year since our last appointment. It's crazy I'm dealing with this. read more

We've been with building blocks for about 4 years and my son has made great strides in his development! He started with Ms. Kristen and was with her for over 3 years. He always looked forward to seeing her and would even cry sometimes because he didn't want to leave the clinic. She helped him make amazing progress in both feeding and fine motor, while also teaching me different things to do at home to help my son. I learned so much from her and although we are now seeing Ms. Angela, we still enjoy seeing Ms. Kristen around the clinic. Ms. Heather is another amazing therapist at this location and she is always so kind and welcoming. I look forward to seeing more progress as we continue our services at this awesome clinic! read more

the IRC set my daughter up with Building blocks therapy for her occupational services. and I couldn't have been happier. we were placed with OT Hekanne and she was/is AMAZING. hekanne was always on time and super communicative / flexible. she made my daughter (and me!) feel like we have known her FOREVER. my daughter would look for her on days she wasnt coming. "where heka go???????" and on days she did come, she would have my outside waiting for her. we recently had to pause services due to a treatment and the thought of losing Heka is what was hardest. she will forever be someone I reflect on as my daughter grows. she was the first and longest therapist we ever kept. whoever lands under Hekannes care will be in such good hands. I would give 0 stars if I could due to the discrimination, lack of transparency, and just overall games these clowns played with my son's treatment. If this place is your only option, I would request Heather, if she is still there. There were 2 instances where my son was allowed to elope and run away into the parking lot, once by a sub OT, and the other by his former therapist, Kristen. Kristen was difficult to work with and did not appear to be physically able to perform her job as an OT, unless her health situations were fabricated to avoid sessions with my son. Excuses after excuses about health and personal issues quickly became old and session quickly took a negative turn, leaving my son terrified and not wanting to participate in OT sessions with Kristen, as a result. Kristen cancelled session so frequently with my son, he spent more time missing session than attending session. The owner, Meghan, shows no ownership or accountability and was completely non-existent during the challenges my son was experiencing at this clinic, even after I requested to speak to her, which speaks volumes of her character and they way that she runs a business, which is a complete liability. Fueds are always taking place between this place and neighboring tenants innthe structure over parking. My son was used as a scapegoat because these cowards no longer wished to do business with Easterseals (I believe they lost their contract with Easterseals as a result), which worked out in the end because we were able to get away from Easterseals, and find a new provider through Kaiser directly. My son is now at a more reputable provider and his current OT is better fit and my son no longer hates OT sessions. Bottom line, if you can avoid this dump, run in the other direction. I regret not making a change sooner because I allowed my son's medical insurance to be pimped out by an unethical provider. Lesson learned. read more

We've been here for therapy once a week since roughly the fall of 2016. The therapists and owner Megan are very nice. I feel safe there and trust my kiddo is in good hands. It's been a slow and steady journey but we've always made progress forward. I highly recommend them for children's occupational therapy needs. read more

I highly recommend this place!! Heather has done such an amazing job with my child. My daughter would cry in the beginning because she did not want to do the exercise but heather helped her get over her fear/stubbornness and she now knows that when she goes in to see Heather shes gonna work. I love that she doesnt cry during the session and is actually starting to enjoy it. Heather does challenge her a lot and pushes her but doesnt over do it, which i love. I have seen such an improvement and she has only been going for a few months. read more
