In some ways it's kind of a blend of a nursery & general store in addition to being a hardware…read morestore. They are extraordinarily well stocked. I even picked up birthday cards here. I love that they're a catch all! At check out I found dog treats, cbd, cards, soaps, etc. lots and lots of variety! I bought some of the most gorgeous coordinating large pots a few years back. They were so different, geometric. When we've come they've always had helpful staff. Their paint mixing guy is knowledgeable. Their staff in the garden section is as well. It's a very convenient store right off Ventura. And the size makes it much more navigable than Home Depot!

The best hardware store in the area, hands down. In an era of "big box" stores a gem like…read moreFranklin's is an oasis. Sometimes I'll go to one of the more "convenient" home improvement chains, but 80% of the time after looking through aisles and aisles of cookie-cutter boxes of hardware designed for contractors I will come up empty handed and head over to Franklin's wondering why I didn't just start here. I have always, ALWAYS, found the hardware I need, no matter how obscure the screw, nut, or fitting, at Franklin. Tiny brass screws to fix an antique clock? They'll have it. "Euro" style screws that came with your cheap Ikea cabinet? They'll have it. A bushing for a kitchen appliance that is an odd size... they will have it. Additionally the folks who work here are super friendly and helpful! Another reason why anyone looking for anything a hardware store carries should start here. There is a small parking lot in the back, and metered parking on the street. They are an "Ace" hardware franchise so if you need to pick up an order from the Ace website this is a location that you can select (I've done this several times). They also do re-screening, and knife sharpening. It's truly one of the last remaining neighborhood hardware stores and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Whether it's hardware, garden, plumbing , anything for house inside and outside , any repairs, they have great gifts, clothing , car stuff, huge garden decor and decorations, they have a garden outside a lot of plants and flowers to choose from as well as soil, mulch . Their outside garden is very cool, they have high quality of flowers, plants, succulents, bushes are super healthy! They really have unique finds here! I love it !! This store is highly organized and Super clean as well as their restrooms! I bought altogether:Euphoria, broom, 4 jasmin sambac, 2 everblooming , 2 fuchsia, 2 sunflowers, 6 pack of annuals, yesterday tomorrow today . For the great quality of their flowers , plants and Succulents their price points are spot on! The team members that really helped me on my two visits were Kris, James, Wade, Stephanie, Katherine and Michael! All so very wonderful, super polite, super down to earth, beyond friendly, very understanding, kind, caring and highly Knowledgeable!! They really made my days! The thing is they weren't busy at all. There was no one there. And the employees that were there literally moved like sloths. What's going on here? Waiting 30. Are you open? I'm always excited to share my experiences about businesses or individuals who truly go the extra…read moremile! I moved to Simi Valley about a year ago from the greater Los Angeles area, hoping to escape lack of civility, crowds, and general city issues like lines and forever traffic. I have to say, Simi Valley has been a delightful surprise! It's such a safe and friendly community where everyone is eager to lend a hand, very "Mayberry" in fact. I often wonder if Andy Griffith is the actual sheriff . [A joke of course]. Even though it's a larger area, I still love that it maintains a cozy "city" vibe with everything you could possibly need, just like in LA. One of my favorite local spots is DIY--it makes you feel truly valued the moment you walk in. The staff is super welcoming and always ready to assist you, unlike those big hardware chains in LA where you can wander around for ages before someone notices you! There's a couple of friendly kitties lounging around also. Recently, I found myself in a bit of a bind because my power was shut off for about 5 days due to the recent fires, so I couldn't use my tools at home for this project.. I popped into DIY to grab a solid 10ft steel pipe for a flagpole to support my Starlink, and that's where Raemon really came to the rescue! He was incredibly helpful, drilling the holes I needed, searching for the correct bolts and screws I needed, even offering to deliver the pipe to my home since I didn't have a vehicle that could handle it. I really appreciated that he took the time to help, especially since he was about to clock out. I tried to offer him a tip and gas money, but he initially refused, though I insisted! Thank you so much, Raemon--you truly made my Starlink mission a success, and I'm so grateful!

I wouldn't expect him to walk me all the way to where the item was, being that it was across quite a few aisles, but he took the time to do so, even while leaning on a shopping cart for support of his bad leg. It's always a nice few extra minutes spent just looking around the household stuff and interesting things probably not found in an average store.
