I have one of the highland model homes in Crosscreek Fulshear, TX and windows are foggy. Builders First Source hires companies which are not doing quality work. When call for Warranty to Builders First Source, you feel like being a ping pong ball on table. Finally, they will outsource you to an independent contractor company, which will never respond to your calls. The idea is to avoid until you forget about warranty and move on without it. I have a similar experience with Builders First Source for my other home in Lakeview Retreat, Richmond TX which was built by D.R. Horton, which also have foggy windows after the first year. if I could provide a zero I would to rate this company. we have been calling this company to come repair our windows for over a year. we noticed the window was leaking after the first storm last year. they sent someone out to "seal" the window. during the wind storm tonight, we hear our blinds moving. We found air blowing through the corners of the window. very disappointed in the quality and service. no returned calls or emails from Mr Dailey. Bought all our doors for a major remodel project including 2 pre-hung and one other exterior doors. Initially, they incorrectly placed holes for the out porthole windows in the exterior doors, which they replaced. Once this was corrected, we completed the installation, but the 3 exterior doors began deteriorating rapidly. Turns out they had provided interior grade doors for the exterior applications! They did agree to replace these doors, but provided only raw slabs and refused to respond to requests to place the porthole window holes, and to match the pre-hung hinge and latch arrangements. I either have to file legal proceedings or pay again to have the replacement doors finished and installed. They also talked us into solid core for sliding doors that are a real problem due to the excessive weight. The wood veneer on all these doors is paper thin. Horrible quality, terrible execution and sub-standard customer service. Stay away from Bison! read more

My Dad recommended this place after I had trouble matching baseboards I had to replace in my bedroom. The clerk at the counter helped me within 2 minutes of arriving. He knew exactly the baseboard I needed and they were in stock. I bought them and was left in 10 minutes. I was very close to having to replace all the baseboards in my bedroom so that they matched. Has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. From store level to district manager they are all insensitive and do not know how to make things right. We ordered 11 doors to replace due to being flooded in Harvey, and made the mistake on one door facing. We called back within a few hours and told we had to call back in the morning. Calling back they told us they had already completed the order (even though they told us they wouldn't be ready until Monday). They weren't accommodating at all and were unwilling to help. This is a ZERO star review. Had French doors made by Bison placed in my home and a little over a year, the seals inside the double-paned glass started lifting and became warped and can be seen through the glass. Called Bison and spoke to the manager and they said my warranty was only good for a year and that they would not cover the cost of replacement or even provide another door. I tried to argue that the doors were defective and this should not happen a little over a year, but they gave me the brush off. I even had someone come out from Bison and they themselves said that the rubber seals should not have lifted. Now my doors are leaking and rotting at the bottom. They knew their products are substandard and defective, yet, they refuse to rectify this situation and would not stand by their product.!!! I went in a few weeks ago to get some samples with my contractor. I should have known then that this company is not managed correctly. I have now been trying to place an order since 9am this morning, it is now 3pm. I have left 4 voicemails for 4 different people and sent 2 emails. The people that answer the phone cannot help place an order. This is the most ridiculous situation! I have sent my credit card authorization form and still no one contacts me about the order. Unfortunately, we have yet to find another supplier for some of the things Bison handles, or we would never go back. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Long waits, orders not fulfilled on time, and occasionally downright rude staff. Maybe part of the problem is not enough staff or poor management, but the end result is terrible. read more

As a builder, if you don't micromanage these guys, you will be sorry. (And even then...) I've wasted many manhours modifying my building to accommodate their errors because I can't get what I need in a timely manner. Sure the material is fine quality when you finally get it, if it's actually what you ordered, but know the phrase "your order is on a truck and I don't know why you haven't received it already" means they probably didn't process your order yet and don't want to tell you. If you are not a contractor, do not even bother to deal with Bison. I made three separate trips to their showroom to get information and a quote for patio doors. When I was "lucky" enough to get someone to help me, the sales person was always interrupted by other customers (I assume contractors?). Anyway, the sales people always allowed these interruptions and left me standing there waiting for them to come back. Very frustrating. Will never go back. read more

I have called to check on the order at least 3 times over the past several days and was told that I would be contacted with the status on an order.
