Turns out it was a great suggestion that enabled us to save money on floors and spend that planned money on new appliances in our new, 20-yr old house. We had our vinyl floors installed in 2018. Originally we were going to go with an engineered hardwood or laminate but due to dogs and potential water issues, Mike suggested we use a multilayered vinyl. It was a great suggestion. Although installation took a little longer than expected, we're in love with our floors and the price. We came back three years later in 2021 and had the rest of our carpet replaced with new carpet. The latest installers were VERY quick and did a great job. Again, price was exceptional.

I want to write a fair review, so I'll include all the pros and cons from our experience with floor…read moregallery. When we first came into the store, I loved the floor collections there. They have a lot to offer if you are as picky as me. Mike was great and helpful at assisting us with floor collections and brought 4 different samples to our house the next day for measurements. However, we didn't know that nightmare began after we signed the contract. We decided to go with vinyls for all upstairs floor. Mike told us that his team will start on the next Monday, latest the Tuesday. However, he NEVER called on Monday to update me on his team's schedule. So I had to call him and heard him saying " I was just about to call you". The team didn't show up on Monday, they came Tuesday morning around 8am. Things went well the first day, demo was fast. The second day, the team came around same time, but they slowed down a lot, and left the house an hour earlier compared to Tuesday. Same thing with the third day, they left one hour earlier and say they will come back to finish the rest on Friday. After they left and finished on Friday, floor looked nice at first. But then we started to find many detail problems. Up until this point, we NEVER hear anything from Mike to ask if we were satisfied with the work. Our floor was not level, and we could feel the bumps and floor was moving and making sounds. So we contacted Mike and had him and his worker to come in and talk about the problems. On the day, we had to reschedule, so I called Mike to reschedule. He said he will ask his guy first and call me back shorty. 3 HOURs later, I still DIDN'T hear anything from him, and our new appointment is in 30 mins. So I texted him with attitude of course ( it's been more than one time he supposed to update me, but he didn't!) Then Mike and the worker came to check the floor. And they told me " cuz our floor is CHEAP, so that's why it's not level!" And Mike was blaming on his worker in front of me saying that the worker didn't update him or me and decided on his own of what to do with our floor. We gave them permission to float our floor when necessary at the beginning and they decided not to use it and came back to tell me our floor is cheap! The team came back to fix the floor the following week. They just decided to float EVERYWHERE this time. I don't even know if that's necessary. They used a total of 15 bags of float. It took the team another 4 days to finish the floor and came back extra 2 times to fix the minor details and the side. We had not hear from Mike at all since he came and told me our house floor is cheap. And all he ever contacted us was to have his check! The quality of the floor is great, the work was not to our satisfaction, but the encountering experience with Mike was bad! And supposed to be 3 days of work( according to Mike), it took them 8 days to finish. I'm not going to say everyone have the experience like us, but just make sure if you decide to work with Mike, call him first and ask what is going on first, so you can plan your time as you needed. And make sure check on all the detail works.

They did not tell us before they came we needed a plumber to detach pipes so they did the repair but, in the process, created a leak, which we now need a plumber to fix. We told them that they really need to let customers know in advance a plumber first needs to detach pipes, THEN they can come out.

Rockfin installed granite in my kitchen when my house was built. After several years, the granite…read morebeside my sink cracked all the way through from front to back. I reached out to Rockfin for help. They told me it was probably due to a foundation problem and that I should have a contractor come take a look at it, so I did. What I learned from my contractor is that my 2cm granite was not decked (at all). It was literally sitting on top of open cabinets. Lack of support caused it to crack. I now know that it is standard protocol to deck 2cm granite; reputable fabricators will not install it without decking and include the cost of decking with their price. After learning this, I called Rockfin again hoping they would take some responsibility and help with the cost of replacement. They finally sent someone out to look at it, and they were supposed to be back in touch. They never called, so I followed up a week or so later. After many phone calls (all initiated by me) and much frustration on my part, Rockfin finally offered a small discount to replace my granite with slabs they had in stock (limited supply). I proceeded to get estimates from other fabricators, and discovered that Rockfin wasn't offering much of a discount afterall. I certainly wouldn't expect Rockfin to completely replace my granite at no charge, but some effort on their part to help would have been nice. At a minimum, maybe a returned phone call. Their communication skills, follow through and customer service are definitely lacking. I won't be taking my business back to them.
