    Williams-Sonoma - Lots of candy

Walked in to pick up an order I had purchased online on a Saturday…read more First let me start by stating that I have always been a fan of Williams-Sonoma. They have lots of things for sell that I did not know I needed nor existed. But this time the lady at the counter acted as if I was lost or she was on medication. I told her I was there to pick up an order and she asked me if I was sure it was a store pick up order and not an order to be delivered. Then she asked if I was at the correct store. Then she asked if I had already paid for the order then finally she asked what was I picking up. When I told her she said oh, yes I believe I saw that back there. I miss the days of people just asking to see the order. Oh and after she handed my paid item to me she asked if I needed a bag. Do better Williams-Sonoma. I do recommend this store as we need to keep the brink & mortars open.

Williams-Sonoma is one of those places you love to hate. They offer quality products, sometimes at…read morehigh price points, but deals are to be had if you know how, when and where look. Let me share a few secrets, if you are a home cook you do not need more than a Chef knife, Vegetable Knife (scalloped), Utility knife, pairing knife, Santoku knife and a bread knife. You get a better deal if you buy cutlery sets only offered to Williams Sonoma. If you want quality cookware that you can pass down to generations check out the Clearance section for Staub and Le Creuset cookware. If you want to try different braising sauces, wait to the month they are set to expire and you can grab them at half off(date night on another level). Williams-Sonoma Gold touch bakeware is better than the Cleartouch and worth the price, but again a sale is better. f you purchase cutlery for WS you can get knife sharpening at their locations, but ensure you inform them of your blade types so they get the angles correct.

Some of the meals you're cooking are simpler than others. We had a pear arugula salad, bolognese, and olive oil cake on the menu. The chef and her crew were great! They took their time and explained everything to us. For the pasta, we actually made the noodles! Which was really cool! The whole experience was so much fun! You get to eat the food after you're done, but make sure you eat it because you cannot take the leftovers. Everything was yummy! Tip: you can BYOB! We brought our own bottle of wine! They don't charge a corkage fee and have glasses for you. I highly recommend a cooking class! Especially with friends or a date night. It was a lot of fun! We want to do their surf and turf one next.

We had a great experience at the Memorial location of Sur La Table for a dim sum cooking class…read more This was a Christmas gift from me to J. and was on a Sunday a bit after lunch. When we got to the class, it was completely full and we were paired with another couple. Among the 4 of us, we made potstickers filled with shrimp and pork, as well as bbq pork bao buns. Our instructor was great - I enjoyed his humor and he made the class lively! We were greeted with tea to sip on and the ingredients were prepped in advance with small containers of each sauce, veggies, mushrooms, etc. We took turns chopping, or whisking, or using the stand mixer. I learned some useful knife skills as well! It was fun learning how to fold the wonton wrappers as well as the dough for the bao buns. I appreciated the chance to learn multiple delicious recipes and we had a fun group! I would have appreciated more observation of making the bbq pork as that was pre-prepared, and going through the multiple ingredients we used as they were not labeled. That being said, we received recipe booklets so that we can try them on our own. We had a pause midway through the class during which the Sur La Table staff steamed our potstickers and bao buns and we browsed the store with our day-of discount. When we returned, I enjoyed sharing the delicious dim sum! We were pretty full towards the end but learned that we can't take any of the food out of the store due to any risk on the store which was a bummer. Nevertheless our group chowed down and finished our tasty meal! I enjoyed all the instructors and staff at this location and would certainly be open to coming back, though for a special occasion as their classes are on the pricey end.

Even a few days later, when I thought of more things to ask, he was quick to respond and made sure I got the info I needed. I asked a lot of off the wall things, but he was patient and made sure I understood the explanation of different types of patios and materials. Before starting the project, he walked me through the plan and introduced me to my project manager, Luis. Luis was great, he kept me updated the whole way, even during the first week when I was out of town. I had no worries and I was able to enjoy my vacation while full on construction was going on at my home. Every crew that came out, roofing, painting, cement, told me what they were there to do and asked if I had any questions before getting started. I also have to mention Blanca in the office, every time I called, she was so friendly and easy to talk to, it was like I'd known her for years. The end result? My patio is beautiful! I was torn between putting money down on a larger home and moving, or building a patio to add square footage for gatherings. I am so happy I went with a new patio instead of the debt of a new home. I had to personally put getting any remodeling and home additions on hold while I cared for my dad for over a year. We talked about my patio dream before he passed in March. He kept telling me -"get that patio done". I'll think of him every time I'm enjoying my new space.

I was…read moreimpressed with the selection options and with the service I received from the very knowledgeable salesperson. However, what impressed me most was how the management stepped up when there was an issue with the marble that was selected for the kitchen. The slab had to be replaced and they were 100% responsive and attended to the problem until it was completely resolved. This type of "taking care of the customer" doesn't happen very often anymore. I would have absolutely no hesitation recommending Arizona Tile to anyone looking for Tile or counter top material.

After attempting to try and purchase materials from them, we would agree with these sentiments. They do have some pretty stone slabs. They have a place for kids to play since they do not allow children in the slab yard which is very convenient. We put several slabs on hold and they sold the slab we had on hold. We've been in that showroom probably 5 times since being in the market for countertops. Every single time, we've been met with a flippant attitude, very noncommittal on answers to questions we asked and even told us to look at other places - not in a trying to be helpful way but in more of a "please leave me alone and let me do what I feel like doing which has nothing to do with helping you find a slab" kind of way. We needed to buy 8-12 slabs of stone which is a pretty good amount of money for one home project but they definitely did not seem interested in our business... If you're not an expert in stone slabs or countertops and you're looking for somewhere to help you with reasonable questions that anyone might have who've never done this before, any other slab yard was significantly more helpful than Arizona which is unfortunate because they do have pretty slabs (and a very pretty $$$ price, I might add).
