I used this company for my husbands Masquerade, and the staff that I received was amazing. They came ready to serve and had great attitudes from the start. The bartenders were very fast and kept the line moving. I was really happy with their professionalism and how they treated my guest. My server was awesome as well. She kept everything nice and neat, and made sure things were fully stocked at all times! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. read more

We had originally planned to have Ryan host our photobooth at our wedding in April 2020, but due to COVID, we postponed until 2021. Then my (now) husband and I found out we were pregnant and opted to cancel the wedding entirely. I reached out to Ryan in August letting him know and requesting a refund (since I had paid in full) of the amount minus the deposit. He responded, not a problem, but then I never received an email back on how I would get the refund. I've now followed up via email and phone call. Seems like he is ignoring me. I understand that this is a hard time for everyone, but to be withholding money over the deposit, is another level of low. I'd save my money and work with a more reliable and legitimate company. read more

Gina mixes an amazing cocktail. Isn't that the most important part of these bartender reviews AND I never read that!! She's extremely knowledgeable and is everything you would expect from a bartender. I searched far and wide (on Yelp!) for a perfect bartender and I couldn't be happier with my choice in Build Your Own Bar. What impressed me in my initial conversation was her creativity and her ability to see the vision for what I wanted my guests to experience. She was able to make drink recommendations quickly and actually knew the recipes of each drink she suggested, unlike others I spoke to. She even took on the challenge of making a Margarita using my recipe and the drink she concocted was exquisite. The recipe calls for Tequila, Agave Nectar and Lime Juice, a must try for cocktail and Margarita Lovers. I didn't know the amounts of each ingredient but she was able to create and re-create an amazing drink all night. A true bartender. While tending the bar and mixing all the popular drinks you can think of both came easy to her, so did servicing, entertaining and mingling with my guests. Gina is so unbelievably personable and she goes out of her way to make sure you're happy. From the very beginning communication with Gina was excellent. She gave us a shopping list of everything we would need to stock our bar and I mean everything, down to the type of cups, cherry's and olives. She arrived early and set-up everything! At the end of the night the entire bar and area surrounding the bar was cleaned and left over items were organized for easy storage. Think about how important your event is and how many times you've been to a wedding, restaurant or special occasion and have been so disappointed in the bar service. Now think about the best bartender you've ever had and this is where Gina and Build Your Own Bar are ranked. Amazing. read more

BYOB is the best thing ever! We had the freedom to create our own drink menu. I got to provide my own alcohol under my budget and they took care of the rest. Gina was awesome! Kept the line moving and the drinks flowing. We were able to save so much money and on top of that provide an open bar throughout the entire wedding reception. Our guests were pleased with our choices and their service. Thank you BYOB! read more

Build Your Own Bar - Guests enjoying drinks served by BYOB at Muzeo in Anaheim. - Bartenders Near Me

We hired Build Your Own Bar (BYOB) for our wedding this past weekend and I must say they were absolutely amazing! I was beyond impressed with their service from the moment I booked until they packed up and left for the night! Ryan, Gina and the team were so great! Gina was amazing from start to finish. Since the day I booked she continued to answer all my questions and even followed up with me to make sure she had clarification so all my details were perfect. Ryan, Gina and the team were phenomenal. I had nothing but endless compliments on how AMAZING the micheladas were and the service. Even the bar set up and ambiance was perfect from the display down to the lighting and candles. Everyone was so impressed!! Unfortunately, the last hour and a half of my wedding it started to rain, but they still kicked butt!! One of the best decisions I made was hiring BYOB! I would highly recommend their services for anyone who is looking... you won't be disappointed! My husband and I cannot thank you enough for the amazing service!! Rachel & Joel Martinez read more

I booked Ryan for our 10/17/15 wedding at Red Barn Ranch. He answered all my questions timely and patiently. He arrived on time, set up all the alcohol and chilled what we had brought. I requested the wood bar and it looked great on site. He made drinks timely without a wait. I would recommend him for any event! Thank you! read more

I met Ryan by chance 1 day about 4-5 years ago, we were hosting a non-profit event and needed a bartender, we booked everything for the event in advance and some how forgot the bartender! I found Ryan through a google search, called him, told him my predicament and he said no problem, he would come. This all happened in about 3 hours of the event Lol. Ever since this day Ryan has been our go to bartender at all of our Apartment Rental communities In San Diego/Orange County. Him and his staff are pleasant to work with and even stay longer than requested keeping guests entertained with great conversation and great mixed drinks. Highly recommend! read more

We definitely would recommend BYOB. They were really great. We had some issues with the bartenders but.. came to find out the bartenders were actually great and it was our coordinator who was the problem. They worked through the nightmare she was and got the job done. :) So, if you are looking for a great company to make your guests great drinks, have great customer service, and just overall keep your guests happy - this is the way to go. :) read more

I used Ryan's services for a party and he was wonderful. The option of providing garnish, cups, ice, and the custom built bar was awesome. The guests could not stop talking about how cool the bar was all night. Ryan was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Not only did he provide bartending services but he also helped pick up without me even asking. I really appreciated his services and have recommended him to numerous people. My coworker even used him at her backyard wedding a few months later. Every year I throw at least 1 big party and plan on using him every time! read more

All I have to say it was the best decision ever..... I love the whole set up .... the drinks were amazing.... I will definitely be hiring them for my next event.... everyone en joyed having Gina there as she mixed up the drinks for us ... love it! read more

I hired Ryan for our wedding and he did an awesome job. He started helping us by performing an hour long consultation not just for the bar portion of the wedding but gave me some great advice based on successful weddings he has observed in the past. The day of the wedding he came on time and setup his own portable bar. During the event he was charismatic and engaging with our guests. He was also sensitive to what what drinks the crowd was enjoying and the mood of the party. Thank you Ryan Rodrigues! read more

We can't even describe how happy we were with BYOB at our Wedding...and we loved Gina!! It was such an easy process and Gina was so attentive to our questions and requests! I can tend to be an over planner and she was soooo easy to work with on details. Everyone at our Wedding became fast friends with Gina, which made all the difference with creating our perfect "bouchee and boozy" wedding!! Thank you for everything!! read more

Honestly, it takes a lot for me to give a 1 star review. I reached out to Ryan with BYOB after a friend who had them at her wedding recommended them to me to use for my wedding. It took SEVERAL attempts to get a response back from Ryan, and our interaction was fine but very short. I then had to follow up again, and again it took forever to hear back. This went on for weeks, with me e-mailing a few questions, and him responding several days/weeks later only answering a part of one question, which is very frustrating when you're trying to plan your own wedding. After weeks of asking for a contract to be sent to me so I could secure the wedding day, I finally just gave up and went with someone else, who ended up offering me a better price anyway. Really unprofessional. read more

Ryan is an independent, self directed professional who is able to communicate effectively and meet even the most demanding challenges. I am impressed by his entertainment services, the mobile bar concept and beverage knowledge. I have witnessed him on the job as a bartender and he is one of the best in the business. He is a team player and elevates every event he is a part of. I highly recommend his services for those events targeting a fun and relaxed vibe to those events needing someone who can blend well with the upper echelon of high society functions. You won't be disappointed. read more

I've worked at several Events with Ryan from Build Your Own Bar and he's always punctual, professional and highly attentive to the guests! As a DJ, I work closely with the bartender(s) to help and make sure the guests get their "liquid courage" to dance all night and Ryan never disappoints. His vast knowledge of mixers, wines and spirits is impressive to say the least. I always look forward to working with him and know that if he's there, the night will be that much more successful! read more

We found Ryan on CustomPriceIt & hired him last December for our holiday party. He was simply put, on time, well dressed & amazing! The drinks, the presentation, the ambience of the bar was on point. Highly recommended for your events. read more

Ryan did a bang up job for our 2011 outdoor 90 degree pool party. Who knew exactly what to do when he arrived and got the bar ready in about 30 minutes. We had a large thirsty party which Ryan handled with skill and everyone was very complementary of his margaritas. The party ran way past the allotted time and Ryan was flexible with staying late to accommodate the guest. read more

BYOB is killer !! They do such a great job and one of the most competitive prices out there. If you are looking to supply your own alcohol and you need a bartender. Look no further you have found your match. Gina was awesome and very professional. She was our bartender in LA at our wedding reception. She was on time and we were extremely happy with the service we received. read more

We had Ryan come out for our open bar wedding. He was extremely patient throughout the booking process in helping me decide how much liquor to buy, where to buy it, and in getting all the necessary paperwork for our venue. He took the job on relatively short notice and when our sudden change in start time conflicted with another job he had in the morning, he found a way to make it work. I didnt get to spend too much time at the bar, but we heard nothing but compliments from our guests. Lastly, when our venue threw a 'no shot' policy at him he found some quick and creative ways to work around it to keep our venue and our guests happy. Would book again without a doubt. read more

BYOB is highly recommended for your bartender needs. I booked BYOB for my wedding on 10/17/15. I worked with Ryan to discuss details on the drinks we wanted served. Gina and Maria served at our reception and they were great. Their pricing is very affordable. They were prompt, courteous and kept the drinks flowing. Thank You BYOB. read more

Ryan was great. He was one of two bartender's for my wedding reception May 29, 2011. I initially was apprehensive finding him on Craigslist, but everything went perfectly. He even hired 2 servers which really helped me out a lot. I am going to hire him again when I have my next event, hopefully my baby shower or anniversary or anything. Thank you Ryan, I couldn't have asked for a better bartender for my special day. Maisha and Michael Jones read more

We hired Build Your Won Bar (BYOB) for my husband's surprise birthday party. Ryan worked with us ahead of the event creating a drink menu and gave us a complete list of what and how many spirits/wine/beer and sodas to purchase in order to ensure we had plenty for our guests. Ryan arrived on time and was all set up at start time of the event. He also helped to clean and store our left over bottles after the party was over. The drinks he mixed were fabulous!!!! I would hire him again anytime. read more

Wow! I haven't even used this company yet, but already I am pleased. I emailed for a quote, and that day I got a response! After giving the info I could I got an amazing estimate. I can not wait to use them for my wedding next year! Now I just need to set a date! read more

We hired BYOB for our wedding this past march and Ryan was awesome. I came to them last minute and he was really helpful and communicative. Everything was easy and simple from getting the quote, to the setup and breakdown at the event. Ryan and the team really helped keep the flow of the party and fit in well with the ambiance we were going for. I couldn't recommend them more. Speaking as one of those DIY brides, Ryan helped relieve a lot of the stress by making this a must-have service at an affordable price. Thanks so much!!! read more

Build Your Own Bar made our event SO easy. Ryan's advice on how much beer, wine, ice, etc to provide was right on. Day of our event he and his waitstaff were amazing! They were punctual and got right to work. Our event was not the easiest as we had a potluck of sorts for 150+ people. Guests came and dropped off food in the 'staging area' and the waitstaff very quickly and efficiently turned a pile of food into a beautifully arranged buffet. Ryan was extremely professional and personable as our bartender; everyone loved him and there was never a wait for a drink. If you are looking for a professional bar service for your event, look no further, you will not be disappointed! I cannot recommend Build Your Own Bar highly enough! read more

I called Ryan 9 days before my wedding in Ramona (bartender plan fell through and I was desperate). I was laughed at by other companies/ bartending services I reached out to, telling me they were booked until next year. Ryan told me he would have a bartender and barback there- no problem. Living in Ramona I was a little worried they'd get lost/ run late/ have car problems, etc- but both Heidi and Richard were ontime and professional. I keep hearing from my guests how great they both were and I couldn't be happier! We had 140 people and they kept the bar line happy and moving quickly. The first thing my hubby said to me after the ceremony was, "Did you see the bar? It's legit!" - I'm really grateful to Heidi, Richard, and Ryan of BYOB because the bartenders were my one worry (having booked so close to event), and they were fantastic! read more

Ryan and Gina were very helpful through the entire process leading up to our wedding date. Once the big day arrived, Gina was on time, professional, and quick with her set-up, all I needed to do was point out the area where we wanted her to set up and it was done. Through the wedding, all of our guests were very happy with the bar service she provided. Very happy overall with our experience with Build Your Own Bar. read more

We booked BYOB for our wedding 2 weeks ago and couldn't have been happier! Gina is the ABSOLUTE BEST. She made the process so easy, she was so helpful and kindly answered all of my questions. They make it SO easy- they literally bring everything (cups, ice, stir sticks, etc) and give you a shopping list based on your number of guests so you know how much alcohol and soda to purchase. Even my wedding guests were impressed with Gina, saying how nice she was and about an hour into the reception she already knew everyone's drink of choice! BYOB did my cousins wedding a couple years ago too, and we'll be using them for another family wedding coming up in Feb. Highly recommend BYOB for any and all events! read more

I highly reccomend BYOB Gina and Ryan! The best service, best bartenders, best drinks. Everything was A rated excellent.

This review is LONG overdue. BYOB bartended my wedding In October and I can't begin to say enough good things about this company. Gina was our main contact/bartender and she was absolutely fabulous. We booked BYOB about a little over a year in advance and they answered all of my questions over that period of time. Any question I had they answered promptly and completely and never made me feel as if I were taking too much of their time. They walked through all of my numerous ideas and offered the experience to help guide me in the right directions. Throughout the process they were always very cost conscious and made sure to get the best deals on insurance, cups, ice and even helped guide me to the best prices when I was purchasing the alcohol. They were there right on time for the wedding and cleaned up quickly and completely at the end of the night. As for the service during the wedding there was never a long line and they were so friendly. After the wedding so many of my guests asked about the recipes for the drinks and commented on how nice and fast the bartenders were. If I ever need to hire a bar again I know exactly where to go. Thank you BYOB for helping make my wedding a day I'll never forget. read more
