This place was packed when we were there and that was okay. No problem. Until the girl stuffing my daughters bear was rudely told in the middle of stuffing that she needed to stop a go on her break. The woman that took over kept telling my kids to back off and that they didn't need to be that close to her. Looked online & read the disclaimer that in fact lines have closed due to safety concerns but that vouchers would be available. Well why wasn't I offered a voucher. Came in today and staff was very helpful and made my daughters first experience AWESOME! I read the comments before showing up, was a little concerned, but as soon as we walked in we were greeted with a warm smile. Would recommend to anyone for sure. I had my Daughter's 10th Birthday party here, along with 11 of her best friends. They all had a fantastic job, and the staff of Build a Bear were incredible. The staff did a wonderful job of organizing all activities and controlling the children during the hour long celebration. The parents are encouraged to leave during the Birthday activity, so as not to overcrowd the store. Most of the parents stuck around and that was not a problem either. During the entire event, the staff were very friendly, highly organized and made the event very fun for everyone. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff. The Birthday parties last about 45-60 minutes. The host can determine how much each child can spend. Most of the stuffed animals cost $25 so that was our budget. If the children wanted additional clothing or items for the stuffed buddy, the parents could pay separately. Of course a different budget could be determined for the Birthday Princess and any siblings. At the end of the party the staff will give you an itemized total of what you owed, and a very nice group photo. My daughter and her friends loved every minute of the party. Thank you Build a Bear Staff. The only negative is that Birthday cake, food or drinks are not permitted to be consumed in Build a Bear due to permit restrictions. They recommended Red Robbin in the mall, but I did not like the set up for where are group would be seating. Instead we opted for Chi Chi's Pizza which was about 1 block South of the Mall. That restaurant turned out to be a great combination for the Birthday party. I would highly recommend this place if you also want to continue the party after you are done with Build a Bear. read more

Love the concept and is so fun to make a bear Won't stand by companies word because a sign said it was 30% off clearance and I asked staff and they said it was 30% off original price. How is this if the sign says something else. But if you suscribe to emails they do send you coupons. read more

Awful experience at Build a Bear today. The Build a Bear in Northridge is one of the only ones in LA, as all the other ones have gone out of business. I drove half an hour to get to the Northridge shopping center only to find that the BABW was closed because they were filming a commercial. I even called in advance to check they were still open and their answering machine said they were. I wish I hadn't wasted my time driving all the way there. This problem could have been easily fixed if they changed their answering message or even just picked up the phone!!! Learn better customer service!!! No wonder they're all closing down... read more

Ok I did not get upset when I went to pay your age event and the lines were too long to even try to wait. I understand they overestimated the demand. So I went back today and I was shocked at how rude the staff was. This was a compete turnaround from when I purchased other bears or attended a party at the same store. In the past the staff was so friendly and they made it an experience. Not today. Nobody approached us when we walked in. So we picked the bear and headed to the cashier to find some help. The cashier told us to get the bear stuffed. The employee stuffing the bear did it fast. I asked when we could add scent and sound and she got upset with us, telling us that should have been done first. Then she told us to go pick scent out (zero help) and then shoved it somewhere in the middle of the bear. Not in the right place because it doesn't smell as good as previous ones. She clearly did not want to be there. We had to figure out the rest on our own (like print the certificate). Good thing I did a couple of other bears before. I didn't want to complain in front of my four year old or walk out, because she was already disappointed from the pay your age day. But if it was up to me I would have just left the bear there. What a disappointing experience. Please remind your employees that BAB is about the experience as much as the toy. They can get up from the chair and help the customers, and do it with a smile. If they are having a bad day, we understand but leave that at the door or call in sick. read more

My daughter had her birthday party here and the staff were so accommodating and helpful. My daughter along with her friends had a blast and everything was so well planned out and thoughtful. They had games to play so there was no downtime. They made my daughter feel extra special. I even had a couple of mom's come up to me after the party, sharing that their child wants to have their next bday party at Build-A-Bear! I was happy to see that the staff took it upon themselves to explain to the children what options they had available to them within the party package I chose (which was a lot). Noelle and Leney were delightful and happy. I'm so happy that at the end of the day my child along with her 11 friends had a blast and got to take home a furry friend that will be cherished for years to come. read more

The staff here is so unprofessional and RUDE! I came to this store on 6/17/2017, around 2:30pm.. (in case the store manager or corporate is interested since I didn't get the name of the manager or the cashier..) I was given the hardest time because I was paying with a 100$ bill. I did not have anything smaller and I did not have my cards with me, all I had was the cash.. The cashier rolled her eyes at me, when I told her that's all I had. She looked over at her manager and said "look, what am I supposed to do with this?" The manager gave me a dirty look, turned around and bent down to get change for from their safe or whatever that cabinet was behind the cashier.. They made such a big deal out of the whole situation, that I will never come back, and my daughter loves this store, she's a regular customer here. But never again after the rude way they treated and spoke to me and all the dirty looks. Why would you lie and say we don't have ANY change at all when you do? Did she think I would magically make a credit card appear? Because as soon as they heard me tell my daughter she had to put the stuff back, all of a sudden she says, "well I'm just gonna have to give you a bunch of fives" all mad as if I'd just ruined her whole day with my 100$ bill.. they acted like my total was 10 bucks. You know you spend a whole lot more when you come in to this store.. hopefully the store manager reads this and starts giving a few tips on customer service skills cuz these two ladies definitely need some tips. read more
