Who doesn't like Legos? In the Topanga Mall, you can find this little Lego store. Can be challenging to find, so check out the map in the mall for the best directions to the store. This store may be small but has all the basics that you would find at other stores. Plus, they have a wall of individual pieces and sometimes they have unusual pieces- like skeletons for Halloween. Staff is always friendly at this store and try to help when needed. Note: From past experience, during the holidays this store can be super busy. I'm a Lego fan, and the majority of the time I buy online, but I've come here several times and the service is always exceptional. I've always been greeted when entering the store and today, Brandan and Mack, were very friendly and quick to find the product I was in search of. They patiently waited as I browsed. Check out was smooth, I typed in my email on their device and they informed me that I had points I could redeem to save money on my purchase. When I inquired on the free gift with purchase (while supplies last) advertised online and in store, I was informed that unfortunately, they had run out. Sad but understandable. Legos have become more expensive as the years go by, but it's a classic toy and a great value for the memories they create. During the holidays, I've had to wait in line but their management is seamless. Store is always tidy and specialists always have a friendly demeanor. People of all ages, but mostly parents and their children were building what appeared to be a sunflower patch by the entrance guided by a brick specialist with a microphone and instructions laid across two tables. The employees were exceptional in their assistance. I was in line to buy a kit when I saw an unopened flower bouquet kit (10280) on the shelf behind the counter and my interest was piqued. The cashier said it had been returned by the customer ahead of me in line. Another employee nearby immediately said they'd run out after Mother's day, so it was the only one in the store, but he had an assembled version in the back if I'd like to see it. I did, and he got it. While he was gone, I told the cashier I thought my wife would like it and she said it was part of a series, which included a bonsai tree kit (10281). She showed it to me. The other employee returned with the assembled bouquet and, after comparing them, I chose the bonsai. I appreciated the enthusiasm and impulse to help that the employees all demonstrated. No simple "yes" answers; everything was "yes, and..." but in a helpful way, not an up-selling way. P.S.: I'd overheard another couple in the store express an interest in the bouquet after I had already selected it so, when I opted for the bonsai instead, I told them it was available and I expect they bought it. read more

What an amazingly kind hearted bunch of staff members. Mainly, Cookie helped me but Eric, Stephanie, Kathryn/Kaitlyn (sorry if I get this last name wrong- her name tag was obstructed with her long hair) were amazingly helpful. I was looking for a replacement part for a gift for my niece. Particularly, I was trying to switch out a a figures head/hair for a female version so my niece could hopefully better relate to the gift. From speaking with them on the phone, at the entrance, to the final execution of everything they were nothing but kind and accommodating. The staff here all have big hearts and they're overall demeanor is awesome. They are COVID conscientious, limiting the number of guest in the store, mandating/wearing masks, and wiping down points of contact. You guys rock! read more

The LEGO Store is one of my favorite stores in all of Southern California. Now, there's a reason for that going back to my childhood. My father had traveled to Germany, and brought my brother and a LEGO set, which I absolutely loved playing. I put it together, took it apart, and a few days later, put it together again. I derived so much joy from that, and it has always had a soft place in my heart. Which is why, I want my kids to have all the LEGO sets they want, so that they can have some of the same enjoyment I got from them. I wish they had a LEGO closer to where I live, but this is the closest one to me, which is why it's my favorite. She had told us about upcoming specials, and assisted us when our kits have had missing pieces. And my kids are Asian, so I don't think she's racist, or needs to learn anything. Wow! Where was this store when I was a kid growing up? The selection of Lego's here is amazing! Simpsons, Ghostbuster, Starwars, Ninjago, Sport Cars, Cinderella and Princess related items and it goes on and on. Then they have the mix and match your own Lego figures or you can mix and match (or replace) individual pieces. The possibilities here are seriously endless. Downside? Price. It is expensive. Some of the Lego sets go for as much as $200. Definetly a great gift idea, for the young or not and so much fun to browse around as well. read more

Westfield Topanga is huge so I thought I'll tell you where it is. It is near Target and the carousel i.e. where all the kids stuff are concentrated. It is between the Croc and the Verizon Wireless stores. All Lego store has a standard look to it; there is a wall of brick at the back and customer service desk in front of the wall of brick. This one is no different. Compared to the one in Glendale Galleria, this one is SMALLER and less space for kids to play with the bricks. As you can see in the photo, there is no seat for kids who are building their creations. Glendale Galleria also has more space for bargain bins/ sale which I enjoy to rummage through. I usually know what I want so Customer Service is not a big deal to me. It seems that both store has friendly enough staff members. Considering both stores are the same distance to where I live, overall I will keep going to the one in Glendale because it is bigger and it is more comfortable for my kid if she wants to play. read more

Employees Eric W. and Brian A. blew me away with their customer service on Thursday. I am not well versed with LEGO whatsoever, but with the recent new television show, I watched my husband glue his eyes to the screen and reminisce about how much he misses his LEGO's- so for Valentine's Day I decided it was time to check out this store. They not only directed me in what to purchase, but never tried to up-sell me into purchasing things that may not be useful. They helped me find small individual pieces to make the avatars I wanted (I was hoping to make my husband and I on our wedding day) and were both so friendly and engaging that by the time I left, I knew I would be returning to that store specifically if the gift was a success and we needed more. (Spoiler alert- he loved it, and we will be back.) We started building the backdrop last night of our wedding venue for our first "build" and he and I have decided to make LEGO a new Valentines Day tradition. Also- we stayed up until 6am building. I'm a be honest it's been a hot minute since I've bought anything from a lego store. Until recently with the pandemic I've been looking to get back in considering the last purchase I made from the lego store was 6 years ago and to that I say I happily did. Eric really hooked it up with a Star Wars set that I was eyeing even though it was out of production and likely very limited to find. Overall he was very informative and helped me find something to bring me back into the realm of lego again. I'll likely continue to come by and shop because I know the service is amazing and I know the brand hasn't lost its charm even for adults who are still kids at heart. read more

Horrible experience here. Didn't expect it from a LEGO store. LEGO usually has excellent customer service. I came to simply return a few items from an online order. Beverley (the manager?) was an extremely mean person from the start. Had to argue with her for a while to return something. Apparently she knows nothing about the online return policy. There was 1 item that was opened that we didn't like and the policy is to give store credit. I'll stick to shopping online. read more

I walked into the LEGO store in Topanga Plaza today and had the worst experience. I would give them negative stars if I could. First let me say I understand that there are capacity levels right now and I would've waited if there was someone at the door. I walked in with my son who was super happy to be there and 3 people walked in after us. Then a guy yells at us across the store saying you two have to leave!!! What? We were here first. Ok so I step outside the store trying not to get upset. Then I see him and the 2 other workers just wondering around the store. People are leaving the store and he still doesn't check the line outside. He finally comes out and I ask him why did he ask us to leave when we were there first? Oh I didn't see that. Who's the manager? Me. Really? You have no control over your floor. You don't even know how many people are in your store, yet felt the need to yell at me and my son. He told me we're understaffed, trying our best, etc. Really?? So your best is yelling at us and embarrassing us??? If you're a manager... manage your floor which includes your door. There was no reason someone couldn't be watching the door. I don't know if LEGO thinks it's acceptable to be discriminatory because that's how I felt. This is so unacceptable and upsetting. read more

Come for the bricks -- stay for the Cookie! I went to this Lego store to buy mini-figures as stocking stuffers and also to check out the new sets. Although $350 for the Ghostbusters building wasn't in the cards, I picked up the Beatles Yellow Submarine limited edition. Well the lady who helped me, Cookie, has to be one of the biggest Lego enthusiasts in Los Angeles -- not only did she sing the praises of the submarine, but she showed me an entire Lego diorama she built of the Beatles when they performed on the Ed Sullivan Show! We got to talking and I felt like Kevin in Home Alone talking to the owner of the old toy store. She couldn't have been more enjoyable. I always love checking out this place, but my only complaint is that I don't find its design and layout to be the most attractive. All of the sets are staggered on these giant colored shelves, and it's just basically a big open room -- not the most charming. I also wound up having to go to Target to get the series of figures I wanted (something happened where a Disney set was all the store had). Regardless, this is a fun shop and everyone there has always been helpful when I've gone in, but none more than Cookie. read more

They are giving away free minifigs on the opening weekend with $50 minimum purchase. They are specially printed with "Canoga Park" on the package. Maybe it's because the store is still new but the custom displays weren't that interesting. With the grand opening, you'd think the Pick-A-Brick would be more cleverly stocked, but most of the bins were 2x4 bricks with too many bins holding the exact same part. The store meets the standard for a basic Lego store, but never exceeds it. read more

I feel like a kid again. :) The store is super fun to walk around in and a great place to bring Younger Kids and Adult Fan of LEGOS like myself. The staff/team members are always friendly and eager to help. Beverly is top notch! (very positive and enthusiastic) Megan is as good as it gets! The personal service I've experienced is second to none. Don't forget to sign up to be a LEGO VIP member. Its free. You earn 1 VIP Point for every $1 at the LEGO Store (and online too). Though I haven't owned actual bricks for decades, I really like LEGO. Like many, I had pieces growing up. In the last few years, I've played most of the LEGO video games -- Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, etc. -- with my wife. I want my toddler daughter to grow up playing LEGO because of the creativity and problem solving she can discover. I've been to this store several times. But I've yet to make a purchase there. I think that says something about the store. I've had memorable visits to the LEGO stores in Anaheim (Downtown Disney) and New York (Rockefeller Center). When I saw a LEGO store opening in the Westfield Topanga Mall, I was excited. The store has its signature color and bright lighting. Unfortunately, the store is really limited. It almost best serves as a LEGO display to encourage online sales. The store offers many playsets around the sides and some items in the middle. The area behind the register is cramped so people there trying to look at the boxed sets is awkward. I like that there are bins in the back to grab assorted pieces. I've spoken with staff on the few times I've been there and they're very friendly but that's about it. I asked for more selection and they couldn't help me. I'd like to see their passion and knowledge of LEGO for every customer but perhaps they're just the best retail workers available for those positions. I don't dislike their employees but would prefer people who are more passionate and serve as evangelists for the brand. One of the deterrents to buying is the register service seems sloooow. One person is usually at checkout and there's a very small area for a line. When visiting with my daughter, she wants to play with the bricks but they removed one area recently and she ends up disappointed, not really pushing me to get her things. Recently, I was looking to expand our Duplo collection and they have just a few sets and prices seem really high. I decided before I left the mall to go to Target nearby. Target had a much bigger selection and better prices. Odd that LEGO would offer less expensive items at Target and not its store. Are you paying for shopping at the store? However, the LEGO selection is better than anywhere offline. They even have quite a few architecture sets for adults. I should give this store three stars and I've hoped for a five-star experience. I'm generous with four. LEGO needs to make this store a better experience, however. read more

Found a huge box that was getting shipped out by UPS in the middle of the Mall brought it back to lego, the lady working acted as if we stole it she was completely rude she made me not want to buy Legos at her store. Good deeds should be rewarded without bad attitude that's good business. read more
