I always went to Build a Bear when I was a kid, and this was very nostalgic going back! I took my girlfriend here for a date, and we customized bears for each other. It was a fast and easy process, and you first start by picking your animal! We chose a brown and purple cow, haha. We then went to get accessories and clothes for our cows; I luckily found a 49ers shirt for my little guy. Go, Niners! My favorite part was making voice memo buttons for our cows. If you squeeze its hand, there's a voice memo message. The next step was to fill our cows with stuffing. We did a ritual for putting in the cow's heart (satin heart tag thing). The gal working was very conversational, and we talked about bowling with her. Overall, it was a memorable experience, but we will not return for a while, just because we don't need to! You can't really complain about the price here because you are customizing your own bear, and there's no place like Build-A-Bear!

We got the dollar bear for our baby's first birthday. It was so fun for us and she enjoyed it too. They have a birthday bundle so our bread didn't have to come home naked we paid 29 dollars for a skirt, shirt, birthday hat, and our voice recording telling her happy birthday. You can get the bear for her age alone. We could have paid 1 dollar. The employees feeling the bear are so sweet and they make it really special. Such a good memory

First time for my daughter on her birthday she thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It's a bit pricey when you add it all up but seeing her happy was worth every penny. The staff was friendly and helpful, the only downside was the machine stuffer was out so they had to stuff by hand but they were offering already-made ones which kind of took from the experience.

Went in here, was greeted. Very nice staff and they asked if I needed anything. They were around and answered all my questions. Didn't feel pressured to buy anything or uncomfortable. They even kept me updated on their incoming plushies.

The staff was really friendly i went for a simple re stuff for mine quick and easy they sew your bear up as ur doing your birth certificate so it wasn't to much waiting. Shoutout to the young worker that helped me today! She was lovely.

I have been to this location several times and would normally give it a 4* rating, but this review is specifically for a visit in December for my daughter's birthday which was made very special by a teammate named Tabitha. My daughter had a few BAB gift cards so she was able to get several characters during the visit, and even with a busy store, Tabitha took the time to make the visit special for my daughter and had her grinning from ear to ear. At a time when many people do not seem to care about putting in 100% effort at their jobs, Tabitha put in 1000% effort and made my daughter feel like a princess during the visit. Thank you Tabitha for the awesome experience and for giving my daughter a memory that she will remember for a long time to come!

Omg this place was well stocked! They had items that the build a bear locations around Los Angeles didn't have! I was looking for Harry Potter items and had to drive out of my way all the way to Cerritos from West LA to find them. The employees here are helpful and sweet.

Many of us remember getting our first teddy bear as a child. Maybe it was handed down from one generation to another or quite possibly, purchased from a retail store. No matter how that teddy bear became a part of your childhood, it was probably very special to you. Nowadays, people have an opportunity to jazz up that teddy bear and give it more of a unique appearance. Build A Bear Workshop has been around for a while now. You pick the outer portion of the toy and take it over to the machine to get it stuffed. You pump your foot up and down to make it nice and plump. They'll have you say some kind words and some other cutesy stuff before shoving a heart inside of the toy. After that, it's sewn up and given to the lucky recipient. At this point, you can add clothing accessories to spruce up your creation. Now you've got your personalized little creature! Well, I didn't know that they also host parties at all of their locations. So we called their toll free number and booked a birthday party for my niece. Each child would be able to pick a teddy bear up to a certain price point and add one outfit to make it super cute. I really liked the whole setup for the party. There's a large whiteboard in the back of the store where they write a birthday message for the birthday boy or girl. Kids play games with the host and have fun on a little scavenger hunt. It's also great because not only does the birthday kid get a teddy bear but so do all of their guests! The children really enjoyed this opportunity to take part in the festivities. It should be noted that food is not allowed in the store so you'll have to enjoy cake and ice cream at a different location. We had cake and ice cream at a nearby restaurant so it worked out well for us. The party was a success thanks to how well they managed the store. Even though other customers were coming in while the party is going on, they kept the kids focused and together. For the price of the party, I'd say that it's well worth it for kids to come here for a memorable experience. All of the kids were happy and definitely appreciated the opportunity to celebrate their friend's birthday at such a fun location.

Ask the Community - Build-A-Bear Workshop

Is this place open if so how is since covid what are the restrictions?

They are open! We were just there April 28 2023 as well as in 2022. Located on the side of the mall closer to Macys. If I remember correctly, all their staff wears a mask still. No regulation for customers though.

Is this location still inside the Cerritos Mall?? I saw someone post photos that aren't the mall location so I was wondering if the moved? Thanks.

Yes. It moved to the Macy's wing of the mall

Considering that the stuffed animal was custom made by my daughter, I found the price to be well justified.

Buying a medium sized container of feed was more than enough, IMHO. Visitors are required to feed only the goats & sheep from the other side of the enclosure. Without feed, visitors can enter the closure & pet/brush the animals. Besides the goats & sheep, there are 2 pigs, chickens, and in a separate enclosure, emus & a cow. No access allowed to those, however. Pony rides are an option for little kids. The ride is around an oval track. There is also a playground area to burn up some energy. A few handwashing stations on premises to stay hygienic during your visit. Barnyard Buddies is an accessible nearby barnyard experience. I was lucky enough to grow up around chickens, so I'm not new to livestock. It's my firm belief kids should be around animals, and know where their food comes from, whether it be eggs, milk and/or meat. While not a place I'd recommend traveling large distances to visit, for those nearby or whom happen to be in the area, Barnyard Buddies is a wonderful opportunity to feed enthusiastically hungry goats & sheep, and brush plump piggies. Highly recommend!

So I will definitely come back. Only issue I have is that drivers drive a bit fast where the parking become dusty so be prepared for that or make sure the kiddies have mask or face cover.

Child Creativity Lab takes donated every day items (Lego pieces, empty prescription containers, bottle caps, buttons, wine corks, new popsicle sticks as well as excess items from various companies (excess fabric, plastic bottles, paint, pins, tacks, glue, zippers, etc.) and they put them together in a package so that kids can assemble them them and create a figure like a robot or animal out of all the parts. Before COVID they used to have in house workshops, but now they take the party out to the kids in city community centers, schools, etc. My friend planned a service event here so I came over to help out for a couple of hours. All the parts for the project were laid out at various stations and we went down like an assembly line and filled bags with the items to create a project-in-a-bag for each child. If I was a kid in elementary school receiving a project bag like this to put together with other classmates, I would be totally stoked. If you are interested in donating common household items for them to use, give them a call to see what they do and don't take. You can also arrange to do a service event here with your organization, they have people come in every week to help out. We need more places like this in all communities!
