A great buffet at Sunrise of Moon Place Resorts. My family and I dined here during our stay on several occasions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With it being a buffet, you're able to get an assortment of options during your meal. Along with the different dishes, I always enjoy the fresh juices at the drink bar as well as the pre-made or build your own yogurt parfaits. This is the main buffet located near the lobby bar. They're open for breakfast lunch and dinner. Unlike other dining choices in the resort where breakfast is a buffet, but turns into a sit-down a la carte at night, this is buffet style throughout the day. Service here is consistently attentive. Even when it's busy, it's not hard to get your servers' attention. But during peak season, that might be a different story. We've only eaten meals here a couple of times during our stay at the resort; First night, and last day. We also came here several times just to grab some light bites and fruit in between meals. Food selection rotates, and die the most part, not spectacular. Just goood enough to get you full. But their dessert selection is worthy of a fancy pastry shop. You can order alcoholic or espresso based drinks from your server, or self serve juices. One thing to note, it seems they have a shortage of spoons. Eva use spoons are never placed on the tables with other utensils. And when we ask for know, often times were handed the wrong size: like a huge soup spoon for a small dessert cup, or a teaspoon for a bowl of soup. Good. We are at bugambillas once for dinner and numerous times for breakfast. There are some traditional Mexican fare, unfortunately they weren't better than average. The breakfast buffet had a decent spread. Dinner was just good. It is located in the center of the sunrise lobby and the main breakfast option for guests staying here. read more

Really good spot for lunch. They have a small Indian and middle eastern section during lunch along with a taco bar. For dinner they have a quesadilla bar. Highly recommend. Staff is super attentive and you can get specialty coffee there if you ask, as well. read more

This is probably the most popular buffet at Moon Palace and closest to the Sunrise section. Breakfast is stocked with all the American traditional stuff... eggs, pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage etc. but they also have some Mexican favorites like Chilaquilles. I got them daily! They also have fruit carpaccio with honey and mint. Try the pineapple and melon- you'll be impressed. The chef that makes the omelets is super fast and talented! He also makes juevos rancheros if you ask :-) Lunch is also an array of food- lunch meats, cheeses, pasta bar, soup. Oh my the soups they make are incredible! Try the Pablano Cream soup or the carrot cream soup. I would have never thought it would be good but I went for soup each day despite the 95 degree plus weather! They have sushi, Indian food, and of course Mexican. I haven't had dinner here but I'm sure it's probably as good as breakfast and lunch with a diverse menu. read more

Came here once for breakfast and three times for lunch during my 3 night stay at Moon Palace, Sunrise section. TONS of options available here. Compared to the two other all-inclusive resorts I've been to, Bugambillas had relatively the best buffet. I preferred this restaurant over La Gondola for breakfast. BREAKFAST: A chef can prepare made-to-order eggs, but the skillets are not cleaned at all between orders (just some extra oil is squirted into the pan), so I suspect each order probably has some leftover grease from previous ones. Another chef was making fresh small pancakes one day. Several toppings were available and I chose Nutella sauce - amazing combination! LUNCH: There's always a couple meats or seafood available that the chef cooks up for you, on request. One day, there was an option between salmon and basa. I ordered the basa, my friend ordered the salmon and we both really enjoyed. There's also a made-to-order pasta section - you fill up a small plate with what you'd like, and the chef prepares it for you, adding one of three sauces (tomato, alfredo, or bolognese). The options for the pasta aren't extensive (e.g. no bell peppers, mushrooms, etc) but there were corn kernels, onions, and tomato chunks. You can also request cheese to be added. For dessert, the cheesecake was below average, but the tres leches milk cake was good (first time I had tres leches so not sure how it's supposed to taste) and the brownie was very satisfying. read more

This was my favorite place to eat out of the whole sunrise resort side. TACO STATION. I had tacos for breakfast and lunch every day. fresh made tortillas, all the toppings and fillings. Everything was so flavorful. Each meal included a wide variety of foods, so there are a lot of options to pick from. The desserts bar! SWEETS HEAVEN! The service in Bugambillas was the most outstanding one. From the host/hostesses to the waiters and bussers. I never had an empty glass of anything, they were all very attentive of our tables, overall- EXCELLENT SERVICE and GREAT food! read more

This place is one of those restaurants that will stay in your mind for the longest time. It stands out. This place offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets, making it convenient to eat here any time of the day. The options they offer at this buffet are countless. It's unlike any other buffet. Some dishes include short ribs in a red wine sauce, tacos al pastor, poached fish, paella, etc. Each dish tastes like they put a lot of effort into making it taste great. Most buffets offer a lot of "average" dishes, but every single thing I ate here was on point. Out of all 3, I would have to say the breakfast buffet is the best. Name anything associated with breakfast and you will find it here. The omelettes are divine. The pastries are warm, sweet, and crispy. The breakfast meats are flavorful and smoky. Despite everything tasting like heaven, the waffles are my favorite. Misael is the name of the waffle guy. This dude is a master. He whips out waffles by the minute. He manages to keep his pace and a smile on his face throughout the entire day. He deserves a lot more recognition and tips because of his hard work. It's not easy to cook waffles for over 1000 people. One more thing I have to applaud them for is the service. The service here is some of the best service I have ever received in my life from a restaurant. They come to your table right away when an empty drink/plate is left. They always ask how you're doing, and they love to make conversation with you. Overall, this place is 11/10. This is truly one of the best restaurants I have ever been too in my life. read more

If you're staying at Moon Palace, you definitely have to go here because it is their big Mexican buffet. if they are serving the kiwi cream cheese hors d'oeuvre ...get one. it's a little Keewee cut into slices with cream cheese and they will be in their own individual plates for you to grab. The shrimp and octopus ceviche is delicious and be sure to grab one of the Parmesan breads to put it on. For hot food I got the rice and beans and put some shredded chicken on top of it. The shredded chicken wasn't really that hot but overall it was pretty good. There are not a lot of chips in the buffet just a small little bowl by the fajitas, but be sure to grab a few and some guacamole which is really good. read more

Ok yelpers, this review and it's star rating is based on what is available at the Moon Palace resort only. The stars have zero bearing to what is available if you leave the resort. That being said, I gave this place 5 stars because in my opinion it is the best buffet and restaurant for that matter at any of the 3 lobbies at the Moon Palace. I have been coming here for 3 years and have tried all the options at all of the lobbies and this one consistently is the best. The people who work here during breakfast lunch and dinner are all very friendly and helpful. There is also enough staff working so that the service is very prompt. During breakfast they have an omlette station with all sorts of vegetables and meats. They also have egg whites and just regular eggs on the griddle. The selections are good, ranging from fruits, cheeses, cured meats, salsas, chilaquiles, waffles, danishes, croissants, cereal, etc etc etc. Lunch and dinner are much the same. Plenty of options and a dessert bar with ice cream and other sweets. The views are of the ocean and pool area and are pretty nice. The inside isn't too noisy and it is never more than a 5 min wait to be seated. read more

I enjoyed all of the pork dishes over anything beef or chicken (they tend to overlook the chicken and beef to an almost-jerky state). The best of the restaurants my family had so far at this resort. The service is very good and friendly as with all the restaurants. Come early for breakfast, by 7 AM, then the service is quick. Omelette station is good. A good selection to choose from for your omelette. The chef cooks a perfect one quickly for you. I only wish they had hash browns. For lunch they offer stir fry with a selection of various meats. The meats are cooked just right and come out juicy and moist. The texture of the meat makes me thing the meats are tenderized when marinade. They also have a soft taco station stuck in the corner. The pork is good especially when you add fresh guacamole, onions and a little squeeze of fresh lime juice. At dinner time the beef steaks warming under the heat lamps is actually quite tasty and the best steak we had at this resort. It doesn't speak well for the quality of food here but my sons loved it. It's ashame because the produce and meats looks so good that they should be prepare better. read more

Resort ripoff. The working staff is the backbone of this place so kind & get results do anything reasonable for you. But the food is ughh poor quality ingredients like stuff outta the county jail. Don't bother trying to sleep...echoes of everything because of the concrete construction loud guests, tv's, toilets flushing, water running, airport going. Ceilings falling from rain displaced guests crowded lobby. Hundreds of rooms are so distant from the main lobby(where the food is) you'll get a blister on your feet from all the walking read more
