Eggs Benedict.
Sherri C.

Had a fabulous breakfast at El Nicho this morning. I had one classic eggs Benedict and one with crispy bacon, avocado, and tomato. Yes, you can order two different kinds! Both were delicious. The hollandaise sauce was so creamy! Great service, light and airy dining area. I highly recommend them for breakfast!

What a lovely breakfast and lunch spot! The front of the restaurant looks like a small coffee shop, but the back is more restaurant-like with mural walls and a water fountain. The iced coffee was strong and smooth and the Granola Maya Grande was big enough my husband and I could share for a small mid-morning snack. The yogurt and honey was perfectly blended and the cut fruit was fresh and delicious. The service was fast, friendly, and card payment was taken at our table. My only regret was not purchasing a bag of coffee beans to bring home. Looking forward to another meal here when back to Puerto Morelos!

my only regret is that i don't live in puerto morales so i can spend every sunday morning eating here with the iguanas!! (they're like squirrels. entertaining, kinda creepy, wildly comfortable around people)

Great service, food is delicious, so natural, and fresh. Reasonable prices. I will definitely comeback.

I love the view in the garden patio area through the restaurant. So much more peaceful and less diners than out front. I loved the murals. They had a fan going so less mosquitos. Iguanas hanging out in the wall. Watch for the birds trying to steal your food while you take pictures. Breakfast was amazing. The huevos dovorcianados are my favorite and their sauces were the best I've had so far. The fried chicken Tacos and other eggs were great

Incredibly fresh food. Amazing service with a garden setting for the perfect ambiance. 10-10-10-10 All around excellent!!

They call this frijoles refritos! Wow!

I ordered Chilaquiles, and if I would of stayed at the restaurant I probably would of still been waiting for them. They finally bring them... wrong. Not what I had ordered. Looks like that's what they do because 3 other plates also came missing beans, and when you tell the waiter he said, "you still want them.." what a joke. Anyways go to Cocina de la Abuelita across the street, better food better service!

WOW! The food was delicious and the service was great! The ham on the egg's Benedict was real thick, not like lunch meat which was great to find. The hollandaise sauce has a citrusy flavor to it that was perfect. My grandpa has the French toast which he said was also delicious. The pastry was so soft and moist and gosh I think the best pastry I've ever had while down in Puerto Morelos! The presentation was also very nice. It's a fairly large restaurant compared to most restaurants in town. Our waiter was so nice and I'll definitely be back!

It came recommended but wasn't anything great. Everyone agreed their food didn't have much flavor. We had the eggs Benedict, a chicken type sandwich, eggs and chorizo, and large papaya plate. The service was good but it took FOREVER! Don't come here starving!

The food and service were phenomenal!!! We had a wonderful breakfast to start our day.

Wait: None. Our friend is a local and regular here. We had a table ready for us. Server: They are all super nice but this place is BUSY! Don't expect too much attention, which I kind of prefer once everything is good to go. Food Quality& Order: The food was delicious with options for every eater! Truly. We had a nice spread at our table. Delicious. Cannot wait to go visit again. Listen, that agua minerales chia limonada is a MUST order. The fruit plate was so beautiful that I didn't want to eat it. So fresh, so colorful, another must order. Be aware Papaya isn't for everyone (aka me) and neither is Mango (but it is for me! Haha) Atmosphere& Decor: Its a tight space so be prepared to squeeze in and out. Doesn't bother me because the food and live music out front is worth it. The walls are PACKED with art from locals. I also love that!

I had heard so many great things about El Nicho. So was super disappointed when it took an hour for the food to come out as I had to hurry to my snorkeling. Staff was super kind and accommodating as I only had about 10 minutes to eat but unfortunately was not able to touch any of my food as I had to leave. It is a very popular place so be prepared to wait even if it looks empty because there might be people in the back which I learned the hard way.

Great service and cool al fresco vibe, you start of with a big basket of tortilla chips and a variety of salsas. I started off with a Ahi Tostada and Wifey started with a seafood soup which were both tasty. We shared a fresh Catch local Hogfish and Grilled Octopus which were absolutely delicious! Four items, and two drinks with tip came out to a little over $50 usd. Definitely worth the visit!

The vibe is super relaxed, with all seats in the sand. My kids enjoyed chasing the iguanas and sitting on the palm tree (which strangely grows parallel with the ground) while we waited for our food. We didn't see the option on the menu but our guide told us there is a big cooler and you can just pick out your fish to get it fried up fresh for you. Sure enough, there was a huge white cooler where we could sort through the fish options and pick one the right size for our family. It came with sides like beans, guac and tortillas, and all meals come with chips plus tomato and jalapeno salsas. We also ordered ceviche and the total price was less than $40 for a family of 4. More importantly, everything was super fresh and delicious! I wish I lived nearby so I could come back again - I would be a regular if I could!

It truly is like eating at grandma's house. The decor is vibrant, but the overall vibe is cozy. The service is great, though the seating area did get warm (and we were there in the morning). The food portions are plentiful, and the menu is huge. We just didn't find the food had much flavor to it (which, again, completely subjective). My partner had the chilaquiles (soggy style) which were drowned in a beautifully colored chocolate mole and topped with plenty of tender, shredded chicken. I had the breakfast bagel, which came with lettuce, tomato, and onion, as well as cheese, egg, and bacon (probably why I found the food to be less than seasoned - admittedly it's a simple dish). And, we shared an order or molletes naturales - beans and cheese on a bolillo. Overall the food was good, don't get me wrong, but perhaps due to the nature of the dishes there simply just wasn't enough room for more flavor. I'd return to try their other stuff, because the portions were big, the way the food was cooked was great, and the service was friendly. But in the end, we found it to be just good, nothing mind blowing. Your experience may vary!!!!
