Buford's Biscuits absolutely lives up to the hype. If you're a biscuit lover, this place deserves a spot on your must-visit list. We stopped in on a Friday morning and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. We were seated immediately, which gave us a chance to take in the restaurant's charming farmhouse aesthetic. With its high ceilings and rustic décor, it feels like a modern take on an old country farmhouse that's warm and inviting without feeling overdone. As an unexpected bonus, we happened to visit during Restaurant Week, and the special was an incredible value. It included a Buff-Mosa, deviled eggs, and the Low Country Biscuit. My wife ordered the Southern Philly, so we ended up sampling a little of everything. The Buff-Mosa was a refreshing way to start the meal. Made with Blue Ridge Vodka, Cava, and strawberry-watermelon juice, it was light, crisp, and not overly sweet. The deviled eggs were topped with bacon jam, which added a nice savory touch. They had a bit more mustard and horseradish kick than I'm accustomed to, but they were still delicious and packed with flavor. The real star, though, was the Low Country Biscuit. It was absolutely enormous, stacked with perfectly fried chicken, chunky pimento cheese, and hot honey. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the combination of the rich pimento cheese with the sweet heat of the hot honey was outstanding. The honey added just enough spice to complement the sandwich without overpowering the other flavors. I also tried a bite of my wife's Southern Philly, and it was fantastic. It's a creative Southern spin on a classic Philly cheesesteak and one that's definitely worth ordering. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. One fun detail I really appreciated was that the check is presented inside a book, a small touch that fits perfectly with the restaurant's farmhouse theme. Between the outstanding biscuits, generous portions, creative menu, and excellent service, Buford's Biscuits delivered a fantastic breakfast experience. My husband and I stopped in on 6/6/2026 while in Leesburg, VA for the day. This was our first time here. We made it in about an hour before they closed which was great because the crowd had already come and gone. We were promptly sat at a cute two top table in the second room off the entrance. The restaurant in beautifully decorated and you can tell all of the buildings are super old and historic. My husband started with a banana cocktail which he enjoyed and then had The Cure. I had the Baker's Biscuit with a side of mac and cheese. All of the food was delicious but you definitely have to fork and knife the biscuits because they are so large. When in Leesburg a trip to Buford's Biscuits is always on the menu! While it was busy, my husband and I didn't have to wait long for a table. I tried the Bless Your Heart and my husband got the country fried steak biscuit sandwich. Surprisingly the mac n cheese on the bless your heart was so fresh and delicious. Did I find my favorite place to eat in Leesburg? Maybe I did! I first discovered them while they catered a local event, so I had to visit their HQ. The only downside is their hours are pretty limited, so you have to get there while you can. The dishes are upscale versions of classics. "Upscale" may be the wrong word, because it implies "fancy". Rather, think of what happens when chef takes on what should be a simple meal like 'biscuits' and makes it their own. I originally just wanted to try those biscuits, but when I saw those fried green tomatoes, those had to be on my list as well. The biggest challenge is what to order. I've had their 'cathead biscuit' before, but went their namesake dish instead. Next time will be their chicken sandwich. read more

Stopped by this cute little eatery this morning for a nibble after a local appointment. Hubby is a sucker for a good biscuit so logically the name drew us in. Ambience was airy and quaint and staff super friendly! I ordered the Southern Philly and it did NOT disappoint! The "sandwich" consisted of shaved beef ribeye, provolone, caramelized onions, mushrooms all together in a sumptuous cheese sauce was piled high between two ginormous homemade biscuits! It was far more food than I could ingest in one sitting which means.... leftovers! I tested my husband's order as well - he got the restaurant week special - it included deviled eggs, a mimosa-adjacent cocktail that included vodka, prosecco and some sort of pink juice (strawberry, watermelon, not quite sure), and another "sandwich" The Low Country" (fried chicken, pimento and hot honey sauce, sandwiched again between two huge biscuits). It's simple and perfect for enjoying your brunch. There's also a rooftop dining area that would be great to enjoy your meal on a sunny weekend day. OMG this place is biscuit heaven. I had the Cathead Biscuit with gravy flight. The generous size of the biscuit, the amazing texture and delicious taste puts any other biscuit restaurant out of the competition. I couldn't decide which of the three gravies were the best. The sausage gravy was as good or better than homemade; that includes my gravy which I have always used as the baseline. The mushroom gravy was so surprisingly flavorful and delicious. I originally wondered if it would be good::: it was incredible. The chipped beef was a REAL question mark for me as I recollect the same from my time in the military. OMG was I wrong. I recently had the time to go to Buford's biscuits and I was not disappointed. I've been wanting to try this spot for sometime now so I'm glad I got the opportunity. I ordered the cure for pick up. The sandwich was fantastic. The biscuit was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The Nashville hot chicken wasn't too hot (I wish it was seasoned a little bit more). In total the sandwich about $19. I think it was worth it but if it had a side the would be most reasonable. Definitely glad I tried it. read more

The fusion of flavors, starting with a thick southern biscuit-with honey butter, enhanced by Canadian bacon, and chef kissed by Tillamook cheese-tasted so good. This place is quite the quaint experience. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it's a nice spot, very relaxed. Starting with the basics, the biscuit is very good. They're big, tender, and fluffy. They hold up to the dishes, but are still light in a way. I had The Cure: biscuit, sausage gravy, Tillamook cheddar, fried chicken, and a poached egg. A nice balance, though the breading likes to slip off the chicken once it starts to absorb the gravy a bit. My wife had the Bless Your Heart. It was the biscuit, Nashville hot chicken, pickles, and mac & cheese. The chicken is a little spicy and peppery, but still maintains a good flavor. There is a lot of mac & cheese. Best biscuits in the area! Between the two of us we've probably tried every biscuit sandwich but surprisingly I love the simplicity of the bacon and egg on a cathead the best. They have a rooftop which we've sat at with our dogs (stairs are back and around the side) but the inside has a great ambiance with mismatching tables, chairs, etc. The checks coming in books is a nice little touch. Now I would have to recommend passing on the mimosa flight unless you like syrup-y mimosas. They were far too sweet for us. You know it's going to be good when the line 5 minutes before opening on Sunday is long enough to seat the whole restaurant upon opening. Specialty drinks were great and typically priced for brunch. Catshead biscuits were perfectly cooked and loaded. Love that you got to pick your own coffee mug and fix it the way you wanted at the coffee station. I have never said this but one of the coolest parts is getting the check. They deliver your tab in an old book that you are encouraged to leave a note in! I've been eyeballing a visit to Buford's Biscuits for some time now. I finally managed to find a time for a breakfast visit. There is not much street parking available, so I parked in the Town of Leesburg parking garage just around the corner. I sat at the bar and was promptly approached by the young lady working the joint. I ended up ordering two breakfast items - because they sounded so good! I ordered the Gravy Flight and a Bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast biscuit. Buford's makes these huge biscuits called "Cathead" biscuits. The Gravy Flight includes one of these massive biscuits, with 3 gravies: Sausage gravy, mushroom gravy, and chipped beef gravy. All three gravies were savory and delicious! One breaks off bits of biscuit and dips them in the gravies. That mushroom gravy was amazing! I'd like a 5 gallon bucket of that gravy to go! The breakfast biscuit was huge! I ordered it with a poached egg. You have to eat it with a fork and knife - it's so big! I could not eat the whole thing and ended up taking about half of the sammich to go! Everything was delicious! We were visiting Leesburg for the first time recently and Buford's biscuits was hands down my favorite spot we ate at - I truly still dream about these biscuits. We ordered a variety of their biscuits + spreads pairings including the jams, butter and savory gravy trios. Every single one was a slam dunk choice and I'm so glad I got to try all of them. Their biscuit on its own is the best biscuit I think I have ever eaten. Perfect level of fluffiness, crunch on the outside, chew and salt level. Having lived in the Deep South for a dozen years, I really want to like this place. I can tell you the best southern biscuits are served at your friend's MaMa's house, not someone in Leesburg VA. These biscuits are mediocre. The sausage gravy is more of a pepper gravy. There is no flavor of sausage that can make it to the palate due to the overload of pepper. This disappointment took the kitchen an hour to make. The wait for a table here on a Saturday is over an hour. Do not recommend you wasting your money or time here. So many better places to eat. And if you want biscuits just put some grands in your oven. read more

We got there are there was no table for five so we explored Leesburg until one opened up. Sweet town! Did you know it's from the 1750s? Neat. I was really hungry for biscuits and gravy. We looked on Yelp to find places that offer this and came across this restaurant. Always ready to try a new place we decided to go. We arrived around 9:30 or so. There was a 30 minute wait for a dining table or we could sit in the bar. We took a tall table in the bar. We looked over the short menu and right away I decided for the biscuits and gravy. Three gravy options so I chose the only vegetarian option - mushroom. I imagined a nice milk gravy with black pepper and chunks of sautéed mushrooms. I grew up down South so I had an expectation different from what came about. The waitress told us if we want coffee its through the dining room, serve yourself. Hmm, free coffee? Weird but cool. She left so I went and got myself a cuppa. I later noticed the menu item for coffee at $3.50. When they brought our food it was served in aluminum pie pans. Metal fork scratching an aluminum pie pan, nothing at all like fingernails on a chalkboard. The biscuits looked like they were from Mars - huge and spikey. And very bready. It just wasn't what I expected, my fault for not looking at the pictures on Yelp. I had light, fluffy, and buttery buttermilk biscuits in mind. I realize that this is just another form of biscuits and not all biscuits are created equal, and that's okay. But I had a particular biscuits & gravy in mind and didn't find it. The gravy was dark brown ultra-savory and mushroomy. A gravy fit for a roast but I had never had as part of breakfast. I worked on it, I tried, but it didn't taste like breakfast. I gave up half way in. My wife ordered a biscuit with egg and cheese. She attacked the monster on her plate and made some headway but waved the white flag half way in. Just too much bread, a thin slab of egg, and a piece what tasted something like processed cheese. Our breakfast came to around $40 ( with tip), and while I don't mind paying for excellence, we left feeling let down, unhappy that we had paid so much for such a disappointment. read more
