Went there for the buffet, but did not even get seated. Apparently, staff members have a problem with their sight or with people who look like me in general. As we were waiting to be seated, staff members talked amongst themselves never acknowledging there were customers who needed to be seated. At that point we just walked out and went to another restaurant with much better service. Don't waste your time with this place. There are so many other options with much better customer service and food. Would not have given one star but had to in order to make this post. read more

Very clean, very good food. The only reason for four stars versus five stars is the sushi looked questionable and not very well-maintained. Other than that, the service was great. The bars were completely stocked and filled constantly with a great variety of food not just Chinese so everyone could have some thing that they liked. We didn't have to wait for anything at all. The community was very diverse and very family friendly. The only thing to watch for, and this may be an Arkansas thing, is that they add the gratuity to the ticket when there was only three adults. That isn't what stated as you enter the building, however, it was added, and I questioned it. The sad part is, it was only 5% of the bill so the servers are not getting much. I've eaten there, often. The food was fresh, don't care for sushi. I genuinely love the proteins & there a good selection of them. It's clean, the staff are very helpful. Never witnessed any roaches, period. It's invariably crowded when we eat there and nobody attempted to remove my plate. My business partner and I had a meeting in El Dorado so we came into town the might before. Buffet Palace had a crowded parking lot so we gave it a try. It was a large buffet but they seemed to rotate the food and everything was fresh. All in all a pretty good Chinese buffet! read more

Arrived at 11 thinking everything would be out and fresh. A broccoli dish I got was cold, no green beans, chicken hard as a rock! Guess we didn't hit it right. It is usually good. Don't walk... run away. By the time you see a roach come at you from the napkin holder on the table or see one race across the floor, (I've seen both here on seperate occasions) you know there's an infestation problem. There's no such thing as one roach. While roaches spread like wildfire they are nocturnal. The takeaway here is if you're seeing a few in the dining area during daylight hours then it follows there are hundreds in that kitchen. Let's face it, roaches are showing up for the same reason you are. They're hungry. Still, I was shocked to discover a roach marinating in my food. (See photo) If I'd been distracted I might have missed it. At first I thought it was part of the sauce on a piece of broccoli. NOPE...DISGUSTING! Gee willikers, how many roaches have I eaten there through the years at this place that I wasn't aware of ??? Common sense would dictate if you discovered a roach on your table or the floor near your table the staff would apologize profusely and offer to move you to another table. Possibly even comp your meal? Don't look for that here! Letting either of the sibling owners know there's a problem won't make you any friends. They already know, and can be described as casually apathetic. They'll come to your table quietly remove any evidence of the pest (provided you've killed it) and then childishly refuse to look at or speak to you. Finding one cooked in my food though? My food the roach marinated in came from one of their buffet pans so that whole pan was contaminated. They didn't pull anything. It was okay. They had a lot of different things. The sushi was decent. There are a myriad of American options. I had the crab and it wasn't good. It was flavorless except for excessive saltiness. A waste of $35. The crawfish has more flavor than the crab. Again, nothing to rave about. read more

I used to really love this restaurant. Good buffet pre-COVID, but since we've taken to carry out. My husband got very upset when he ordered food ahead of time and when he went to pick it up, they forgot the egg rolls (they are actually spring rolls) I ordered and got something off the buffet in the early COVID months which freaked him out and we don't eat there anymore. read more

In my opinion, about every single Chinese buffet taste about the same. They also leave me with the same feeling of..."ugh, why did I eat here?" There are good things about Buffet Palace. It is very clean and service was good. I went at lunchtime and all of my chicken was tender and not tough and chewy. The crab Rangoons were excellent and stuffed full. Sesame chicken wasn't bad. I enjoyed the dumplings and soft-serve ice cream is always good. However, the big problem I had was with some of my chicken. My sweet and sour chicken, black pepper chicken, and chicken on a stick tasted kind of fishy. I hate fishy flavor and chicken shouldn't taste like fish. It was like they cooked it...in fish oil. Overall, I thought this buffet was quite good! Went in for dinner, by myself, as a business traveler. They had all kinds of options for food. Place was clean, furnishings reasonably modern, staff available and helpful when you needed them and not in the way when you didn't. They have a hibachi and sushi bar. Was the sushi on par with some of the best I've ever had? Of course not, but much better than I expected at a $10 buffet. They also had a lot of seafood options (baked salmon, various shrimp dishes, seafood salad, etc.) and the "staples" like General Tso's chicken, sesame chicken, mongolian beef, etc. were all perfectly good. So spontaneously decided to come here because I really wanted sushi & this is the only place so far that I've seen offer it. The best experience of this whole place was the hostess, she was incredibly sweet. We sat in a booth ... Yessss which I love. But as I sit down with my food I realize I'm facing the kitchen which is fine if it wasn't someone scraping dirty food everywhere as I eat. Caught in southern Arkansas under winter advisory and needed a fast quick meal. The food and service was great. This is an old Ryan's cleaned up and redecorated. As many buffet bars as we saw we thought we had come to a great place.I went with one of my best friends. The majority of the food was cold. It was only 6:30. We couldn't even eat half the food on our plates. We looked at each other with a let down look on our faces. Hesitated for a few , trying to figure out why we came. then decided we go back for 2nds. And it wasn't any better then the 1st plate. I don't know how in the world they earned all those plaques and awards on the wall behind the counter. We was upset & disappointed. So impressed with Buffet Palace! The restaurant is huge, and it sports 5 buffet lines plus a hibachi and sushi bar. The tuna sashimi was our favorite and the hibachi food was expertly prepared. Too bad we were just passing through El Dorado because the Buffet Palace would have become our new favorite Chinese place. read more
